I guess with my parents both being doctors they have a lot of expectations for their kids. XD School hasn't been bad for me, but I went to a private school where I was sheltered from a lot of stuff. I bet I'd be a lot different if I went to a public school.
I am just the personality type where if I didn't go to college, I literally wouldn't do anything. I would be absolutely clueless. I need a lot of guidance that way . . . so I'm sticking with my education. Plus, I'm so used to a upper-middle class lifestyle that I probably need to get a job where I can get high wages as well so it's not a huge shock. XD
I just . . . I dunno. I love Darrell, but when people ask me, "So where is your boyfriend going to college?" and then the way they stare at me and change the subject when I reply "He's not" it just makes me worried. And I just know that Darrell's the type of person who won't get back into the swing of education after a year off . . . and I really want him to succeed in life--because he deserves to succeed because he's got a lot to offer to the world.
Well, I mean, I don't want to be like "Sorry, my parents don't approve; I'm breaking up with you", but I do live with them, and they provide for me and my very expensive education. If my dad told me I couldn't see him any longer, what could I do? I don't think any relationship, no matter how strong or love-filled, is important enough to jeopardize my education, living conditions, or general well-being. I know that sounds harsh or selfish, but love doesn't last forever. I mean, chemically. I read in National Geographic once, this article about love, and it said that in the first few years of a relationship, certain chemicals are released that make the people feel ecstatic and in love, but afterward the body gets used to it and it doesn't have that same effect anymore. So I mean . . . I DUNNO BLAHHHHH. XP
I want to have a party this weekend, and make cars out of cardboard boxes. Michelle did it at her Project Graduation thing (apparently public schools around here have this thing after graduation that lasts all night called Project Graduation to make sure the kids don't go out drinking, and it's got games and prizes and money) and couldn't believe I'd never done it before. So I'm totally going to do it on Saturday if my friends can come over. heart

@Janine: Do what you feel's best. O_o I mean, it's your life and everything. But really maybe it's not so much of a big deal, because you've a year to go before you graduate, and who knows what might happen in the year!
It's not like you've got to run off and get married right now. xP So you're having a relationship with a guy who isn't sure what he wants to do with his life yet- neither does anyone else. D:
@Naz: Aaah, okay then.... I'll do it tomorrow because I'm tired. xD
STUFFED ANIMALS! <3
And okay, maybe I don't suck so much as I've just got no creativity/patience with doing it. xP
A DINOSAUR? HOLY s**t! Sounds awesome. biggrin I wanna read the b***h!Punk! dinosaur throwing batman comics!
--------
As for me, well I got offered a scholarship right out of school, during that summer, but I didn't want to leave my cats for one, and for two I wasn't sure if what they were offering (A scholarship to Brown University I think, for Graphic Design) was what I wanted to do with my life.
And no one really understood WHY I turned it down, you know?
But I felt like I didn't want to take the college's money, do this thing, decide It's not what I really want to do and do something else, and end up PREVENTING someone who REALLY knew what they wanted to do and really wanted to go from going.
That was the basic thing of that.
And now I've applied for FAFSA but I have to send in a letter regarding my special circumstances, but I really want to go to UW Oshkosh because I like their art program there...... it'll give me a lot more structure to my drawing.
PROMPROMPROM!
I should dress Godfrey up....

So I called the UW-Oshkosh financial aid office on Tuesday regarding my FAFSA and my special circumstances, and they told me to write a letter explaining what they are.
I'm supposing they just need documents for their records/to go along with the form when they get it.
So I tried to just write whatever came out of my head, but now I have this creepy feeling that I'm actually living a Lifetime channel original movie. >_>
PLUS I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT TO WRITE!!!!!!!!!!!!
*Smacks self*
Because I forgot to ask about specifics... aw shiz. I guess just general info about my exact financial situation...
Maybe I'll make it sort of personal-ish so they'll feel bad for me. xD I am literally willing to do just about anything. Urgh. Aaah, I'll just worry about it tomorrow. 3nodding AND ASK MY UNCLE FOR ADVICE WHE HE COMES! YAY!
*Rolls around*
I wish I could get on earlier, when everyone wasn't sleeping. D: *Hugshgushugs*
Well Mike seems to be around, but he's crazy. xP
.... I don't think I can get into college by September anyways... the deadline for the FAFSA is june 30th... but it takes 4-6 weeks to process my financial need, so maybe I could just barely squeeze in?
I have to go to the DMV tomorrow and get a test packet so I can get my learners permit and then practice and then get my license. I am really, really going to need to drive myself around.
:O
Food's cheap though. I got cat food, a bag of baby carrots, eggs, milk, and sliced ham for $13!!!! The cat food was $6 exactly..
And my carrots, eggs, milk, and ham came up to $6.66
XD
razz The fresh carrots are for feeding my lizard food. *Pokes the beetles and implores them to have sex and make babies*
xD They are probably so inbred... xD

I KNOW that I won't be spending forever with him. XP I'm just saying, it's lame that my parents are sort of like "ehhhh" about me dating him, and I just like living up to my parent's expectations, so it's hard for me to make decisions like that.
Darrell and Michelle and I went to the drive in tonight and saw the new Terminator movie! But we were late and we didn't really pay attention so I dunno whether or not I really liked it.

@Cassy: Two of my scholarships in FL required me to write life stories and such. Just be detailed and honest. I had to write one about how my mom's disease affected my life, and that one was pretty..well, it was tough to get through, but I got it done and got the scholarship.
I had three lined up, one of which would have paid for 75% of everything at any FL school... But then my aunt got sick, her daughter wanted to stay in college and I didn't know what I wanted to do anymore except take care of my aunt.
I haven't really thought about going back since Jess and I started living together. I'd like to take a few classes, typical house wife s**t though. Art, basic automotive care.... I don't have the time or drive to do anything more than that. At leas right now I don't really feel like it, but you can go to college whenever if you have the time/money it seems.
Definitely get your stuff done though, hon. I bet you can get pushed in there.
Good luck with the DMV. -_- There are few DMVs in this world that actually don't take three hours of waiting and then another trip in the same day. Xp

Yeah, the DMV usually forces you to take two trips. XP It's like a curse.
And, yeah, it's become increasingly more accepted society-wise to go to college later in life. 3nodding Don't stress about it, Cassy! You're still young and just starting out. Things will fall into place; just at a pace you don't appreciate sometimes. XP
Kat, are your scholarships still good for when we move back?

Doubtful, but it wouldn't hurt to look into it.
Not like I can't work another way around it, but I'm not worrying too much until I know what exactly I want with it, anyway.

So last night when I posted, since my internet was so slow it didn't show me your second post, Cass.
Hey, appealing to emotions always works. XD That's how I got into English III Honors-- I wrote a really emotional personal essay that my mom sent to the teacher, and he let me in. xD
Do you have a community college around you? Usually they have open admission until they start . . .
Inbred beetles . . . you're going to have one with like six heads or something. o_o Then you can get in the World Book of Records.
---
Want to know something, guys? Last night when I went to the movies, I told Darrell how my parents didn't really approve of me dating someone who isn't going to college . . . and this morning, at his graduation, I overheard his mom saying he was going to the local community college. I think he decided that overnight. x];; That's pretty freaking adorable.

xP Yeah, I should definitely send a sappy but not to lifetime-yish letter. xP You guys are so supoprtive. Yay!
Community college? Erm... I dunno? O_o I'm just fixated on that one school, whcih probably isn't good...
XD A six headed beetle would be sweet. I'd sell it for $20,000.
-
And awww..... <3 Omfg, Darrel is so sweet. And the fact that he's not married or gay means he's a RARE PERSON. SNATCH HIM UP NOW!!!!!!!!!1
xD Because the good ones are always married or gay, you know that saying? Or taken anyways... razz
That's so awesome though. XD GIVE HIM AN EXTRA BIG HUG SOMETIME SOON. But don't say it's from me. Just do ittttt.
--------
>_>
Guys. My grandma's staying with me. :O I hope it goes well..... it's been years since there's been any kind of extended stay. XD But we'll see. 8D
Kitty: razz Sounds like it'd be a fun thing to do if you've got time though, take a few classes, maybe even online ones. 3nodding IT's fun to learn things. 8D
And the DMV was easy. I just went in, there was one guy in there, I got a packet. I have to study it and schedule an appointment, probably um...... on thursday or friday, because they're open first and third thursdays and every friday. And then after I pass my test and get my permit, there's a road test.
8D I GOT MY BIKE FIXED FOR NOW THOUGH! Got air put in the tires, and bought some 3 in 1 oil for the chain, because it was really rusted and jerked. I went for a bike ride and it was so fast and awesome.
Bought a helmet too for $8, which was really cheap compared to the others. xD Yaaay!
And as long as I get it done by June 30th, which is the deadline, I can get in on time I think. But then I know I'll have to move to Oshkosh..... but I've got the money for deposits and stuff (The freakin' church collected $700 O_O)
So.. yeah. biggrin I'll probably send the letter tomorrow, before sunday because.... mail doesn't go out on sunday. xP OF COURSE.
AND ITS KITTY'S BIRTHDAY TOMORROW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh shooot, Kitty's birthday. I knew I wanted to do something.
My poor neglected sketchbook and paintings. *pets them*
I'm only able to go to college because my grandparents invested in CD's for me when I was born. Sometimes I just feel like I'm wasting my time doing art as a major. But I feel like no matter where I end up I can always do art on the side, so it's not so bad...
I went to Friday Night Magic tonight with a brand-new deck I made, and literally 3 people had the same sort of deck. One person I faced played the same cards as me for the first four turns. It was really lame because my deck basically sh!t on me and I lost, and wtf did they have such similar decks? o_o I guess I did a popular combo without realizing... *sighs*

I'm sorry Magic didn't go very well for you, Mike. ..I've always wanted to learn how to play that game. The cards are so pretty. Xp I had an a**-ton of Pokemon cards back in the day, but had no idea how to play the actual game.
Guess I'm more of a table top role playing game chick than I am a card game person.
...Soooo, for my birthday Jess and her mom surprised me with taking me to get my haircut. They took nine inches off. o.O I can finally live role play as Reg now without feeling weird again. XD

@Cassy: I am getting my packet when Kat gets her car registered. <3 So I will have to take the permit test about 30 days from now since she has to get her new, "I-can-get-shitfaced" license by then. There's a huge parking lot a short walk away, so I hope Kat will teach me over there.
I am glad the DMV worked out smoothly for you. n_n And that your bike is in a usable condition - bike-riding is fun, and it's also a stress-free way to lose weight. During a summer I lived in Florida, I lost 27 pounds in two months because three times a week I rode the two miles to the library to use their computers. Granted, I also sweat like a foreign kid in a sneaker factory...
GOOD CHOICE ON THE HELMET. <3333 Safety first, mah biffle. <3
I hope the writing has gone smoothly, too; you express yourself well, so I have no doubt you got your information and emotions across.
TELL YOUR GRANDMOTHER THE PERVERTED LESBIAN GIRL ON THE INTERNET SAID HELLO. Or maybe you shouldn't XP Lawl.
@Mike: Ugh, that seriously sucks, Mike. Your efforts aren't in vain, though, are they? You can use the deck somewhere else can't you? (And similar decks must mean you selected some badass cards n_n)
Choosing something you love as a major could never be a mistake or a waste of time if you ask me. You have talent and passion for it; even if you never made money, for example, you are still pursuing something that brings you joy.
I know I'm just an ignorant drop-out, but I've always viewed education as another way to broaden your horizons or chase after the things you love. It can be used to "get ahead" in the occupation/financial world, sure... but at the end of the day, who falls asleep with a smile? The college grad who has certificates in something that makes money, or the college grad who has his certificates for his favorite hobby? If money makes someone happy, okay, go for it, take the path that brings you to cash. But.. I won't be taking classes on a subject I don't care about or won't feel passion for. I'll fall asleep worrying about bills, but at least I won't have to wonder "what's the effing point anymore?"
I CANNOT WORD MYSELF WELL TODAY. XP
@Kitty: OMG HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABEH.
