We did some research into pissing off Sevilin. We decided that Malik worked pretty well.

That was implied with the "Tarathiel falls into the trap' part, so you can assume he's on thre ground, or not.
Either way makes sense.

Sometimes they are desingend to do that.
I am Role playing a drow prince who has to constantly behave in that way to avoid being killed. Jarlaxle and the other drow males have that same problem.
