Korie stumbled a bit behind the still un-introduced men, listening to the alarms go off and staggering as the mercenary strode at a quicker pace than what she was used to. The mercenary commented once on the infirmary's location, then she moved her head to the side a second before the restrained loon could bust her nose with his foot, which put all their attention on carrying him instead of conversing at the moment.
When they made it to the infirmary, she watched the man direct the nurse to put the guy under, and a strip of silk on his forehead was all it took to knock him out. She helped heave him onto the bed and dusted off her glove-covered hands. Then she turned to the mercenary, now introduced as Groundwalker, and she gripped his hand, giving it a quick shake. "Sure, it was no problem. And yes, I'm a rookie here. My name's Korie. Korie Wildman." She glanced at the now sleeping...POW, was it? And, unable to hide her confusion, she asked, slightly embarrassed at how obvious it showed her inexperience, "What's a POW?"

UNDER THE VATICAN[code]
Riku followed Gregory further into the tunnels below the Papal Palace. In all of history, there had never been any mention of these tunnels, but Gregory knew where he was going. Also, they both carried swords now. Gregory carried a single claymore blade, while Riku wielded two curved sabers. Why they needed them, Riku didn't know.
"By the way, Gregory," Riku said as they walked. "I've been meaning to ask you. You're a Knight Templar, one of the soldiers meant to 'smite the heathens who defy God', yet you're helping a non-religious person like me- one who goes against your code of honor. So why are you helping me?"
"Noormally, I'd smite ae heathen like ye where ye stand. Boot ye are ae Chaosmoonger, and we 'ave use yer kind in the past. I knoow ye'd kill me before I even drew my blade."
"Ah," Riku nodded, and they continued on in silence.

(( Sorry for the delay. By the way, Joel's bio is at the guild, if you want to know who it is Korie is talking to. )) Infirmary, MMHQ "POW. Prisoner of war," Joel answered. "He works for one side of a war, and he's about to be delivered to the other. After that, he's out of our hands." While he was talking, Joel sized up Korie. Korie had not mentioned a code name when she had introduced herself, so Joel guessed that she didn't have one yet. Most nicknames were based on unusual features or personality quirks, or just made up randomly. He would have to give her one before she went out on her first mission.

OOC::: Ok, I managed to get the Members list updated early this morning, If your name, or Codename is missing, please tell me. And also, You'll all notice a huge change, and that is that Squads are gone! I've come to decide that they're for the most part, usueless at this point D: Now all you Captains out there don't worry. You still have the power to lead missions, and give out codenames. Now to make the announcment in RP
Also those who are still in the running for Vice Commander, need to have the second form into me by the 15th. Forgot to set a deadline on that, Sorry all.
"Uh..-Ahem- T-Testing, Test!...Good god how do you use this thing." An eerie screech would suddenly be heard through all of the standard communication devices most Members would wear. And for those that needed it to be a silent message, it would scroll across the screen in bright laser green letters. "Er, Attention all Mishap Mercenaries! This is Arc Speaking here, your tempororay Commander until the Commander returns from her um...errand. Uhh...according to her, Squads are now void. She's found that she likes intermingling Members on mission far more than she likes keeping them in squads. Captains will still have the ability to- What does that even say?-A brief shuffling of papers could be heard at this point, and across the screen it'd display the words shuffle shuffle- "Sheesh, Stalker can't write at all. Ern I mean, All Captains will still have the ability to g-geeveeee oh! Give, o-owt, out Codenames and Leeaud, er, lead Missions. Sooo, That's all I guess. Sorry for the interruption. Arc, Over and Out."

"Prisoner of war..." Korie murmured to herself, slightly intrigued. Sounds creepy. "And what about that...'ability' of his? I saw smoke rising from his hands before, and it didn't look natural." She looked at Groundwalker. His codename had aroused some curiousity before, and she almost sighed, as she remembered that she hadn't been assigned a squad or codename yet. And just as that thought entered her mind, she heard crackling squawks from areas outside the room, as well as from members in the infirmary. She listened intently to the announcement from a temporary Commander.
"...So squads are void, eh?" she said mostly to herself, and smiled a little as the temporary Commander tried to read the rest of the announcement. Korie then let out a little chuckle as Arc tuned out.

Larry and his sisters had an uneventful trip from there to the subway platform. He had calmed down a bit and apologized for his threatening of the cab driver by tipping him double.
Larry followed the twins down the steps to the underground line. When he stepped down onto the platform with his sisters and saw all the Mets fans and Yankees fans waiting for the train, something changed in his gut. Larry was starting to get re-acquainted with his life as a New Yorker and slowly started to feel more at home with his sisters. He leaned against a pillar and casually glanced at the scenery and at his sisters.
He saw them both for a second as they used to be, just a couple of little girls singing the songs on their iPods and laughing. But when his eyes focused and he saw them in their touched-up faces, his heart sank. Larry hardly recognized them in comparison to what they were before becoming "pleasure artists".
Marissa was once the mouthy tomboy and Clarissa the neighborhood cutie. He didn't even remember how they had made such a huge transition. All Larry knew for sure was he had not had much time to support them in person when he joined the "delivery service". It was all so long ago that he had to struggle to get the images in his head.
Someone tapped their hand on Larry's face and brought him back. It was Marissa saying "Larry, the train's hea'." Taking him by the hand, she lead him on board the tightly-packed subway car which to this day made Larry briefly think of what it must be like to be a canned sardine.
But his mind quickly turned back to his sisters as the doors closed and the train got underway. Larry tried to justify saving the conversation for another time, but found that he just couldn't let it go. And Clarissa was just passing in front of him, so Larry figured it was either now or never.
"Uh, look sis, I got something to ask you."

As they descended further, Riku noticed several objects in the walls. A large, box-like object, covered with a veil, sat in a room, viewable through a small hole.
"Is that..."
"The Ark oof the Coovenant," Gregory said. "Brought here almost foor hoondred years aego by the Knights Templar."
He looked in another slot, and saw what looked like the head of a spear, stained with blood. "The Lance of Longinus," he muttered. "The spear Christ was pierced with. All these Christian artifacts, stored under the Vatican. No wonder the Catholic Church had so much power for so long. Next thing I know, I'll see the Holy Grail."
"Nae, laddie," Gregory said. "Thae's been missing for almoost a thousand years. Noone knows where it is."
"Is that so?" Riku muttered to himself, and they continued.

((Well, I'm on a mission to recover a sword to defeat a demon lord bent on destroying the Earth. I'm under the Vatican with a Knight Templar to obtain info on said blade. It's a solo mission, though.
Just start off wherever you want.
Also, Snake, thanks for bringing me into the guild.))

((Your welcome Requiem.
I know exactly what your supposed to be doing. You should get yourself situated. Also, a higher ranking member of Mishap Mercenaries should assign you your code name.
My main character, Sokato, is not at HQ. He is in a far away realm exterminating very large and pissed off dragons with his squad. The rest of the squad however is not posting at all. Very sad. I am at a stand still.
Although, my other character, the android is at Mishap Mercenaries HQ. You could look for him in Sokato's office.))

(( KNY: What does Korie look like? And, are any of the devices around her waist recognizable?
Outai: There are three good ways to enter. One, you could walk in the front door and prance around until someone notices you. Two, you could join in on someone else's story line that you like (ask them for full details on what's going on). Three, you could do your own entry arc about the problems Outai has just getting in the door. Code names are best after your character runs around for a while doing stuff and talking to people. ))
"So squads are void, eh?" The new girl asked. Joel was glad for the change of subject. Trying to explain superhuman powers was messy. Somehow, some people managed to miss seeing them until adulthood, and continued to doubt their existence until they were actually fighting an empowered person on a battlefield. It was easier to learn by experience, in his opinion.
"Indeed they are," Joel answered, amused. Hadn't that Arc guy heard of memos and bulletin boards? There were much more effective ways of distributing announcements than an intercom. "Deploying for jobs will be faster now. So, have you received your first mission yet? What is it?"
