"Azel, god of death, mythical grim reaper, etcetera etcetera." Azel said pulling out his book, holding his quill in his mouth for a moment as he flipped through the book. "Oh, and I've got a shark attack out at sea to attend to tomorrow if you want me to get rid of that thing for you." he offered, glancing at Mala over the rim of his glasses as he continued to flip through pages.

"I...uh...thank you, but I'd much rather save the moment for a more special occasion." Mala said, forcing up a smile politely for Azel. "Are you here because of Van?" she asked, as if it weren't obvious. Of course, she just wanted to make absolutely sure she could do what she planned to do next.

"Yeah, but don't worry about him. Give him a day or so and he'll be back." Azel said removing the quill from his mouth to wave it one way and another as he went through the monotony of the process that was death. "First there's the paperwork of setting him up in the underworld, then there's getting him sorted into some level of good or bad afterlife, and then more paperwork to get him out...I swear, this job has way too much paperwork." he said before finding the page he wanted and promptly scribbling something out. "Oh no. I have acc-i-dent-al-ly crossed out some-one's name. Now how will I know who was supposed to die today?" he said snapping his book shut and his voice dripping in sarcasm, mock horror, and an 'I totally meant to do that' vibe.

Mala clearly looked overjoyed, unable to hide the glee in knowing that the underworld wasn't a permanent home for Van. She didn't know what to say or how she should thank him. Had Mala known about how he'd react to it, she might've given him a peck on the cheek or a platonic hug in gratitude for what Azel was doing for them.

"Yeah, while there are still some gods around here that aren't too big on the guy, cough Atius cough, most of us have welcomed his change of heart." Azel said with a smile. "Hell, some of them have even been watching your little soap opera adventures as prime entertainment and cheering you guys on." he said with a chuckle.

"Does that mean even...?" Mala asked, not finishing her question as her face grew to an ever so bright red. She really didn't like the thought of the gods watching them both all the time - especially when things got...intimate between Mala and Van.
