Misty felt a pang of remorse after seeing the look that Slowpoke threw at his trainer. He had finally felt the Swift attack, she reckoned. She did feel a bit sorry for the poor thing, but this was a battle! Surely Slowpoke shouldn't blame Robin, for it was just in the nature of a Pokemon battle. Maybe I could talk to Slowpoke about it after the battle, Misty thought. Don't hate the palyer, hate the game, right?
Misty winced when Slowpoke used his Confusion attack. Yeah, it was coming from Slowpoke, so it would be slow. But Staryu was also slowing down at a very fast pace. The sleep was kicking in. Although misty had shouted out a "dodge!" command, Staryu barely escaped the attack. The wave of Confusion had hit on of Staryu's[ legs, making Staryu's core flash red, but only once. Misty knew that this meant Staryu was somewhat close to fainting... but they still had time.
The Confusion attack stopped Staryu in mid-air, and it began to fall down into the water. Misty thought quickly - Staryu was very close to sleep. "Quick Staryu! Use Bubblebeam!" Staryu obeyed, slowly shooting a stream of bubbles from one of its uninjured legs. "Now Staryu, go down to the very bottom of the pool!" Misty had decided to wait out the sleep, for Staryu still had enough energy! Staryu broke the surface of the water and drifted down, down, down to the bottom, gently landing on the floor of the pool. You deserve a rest. And down at the bottom, Slowpoke shouldn't be able to reach you. Now the two were matched in speed, the stream of bubbles only slightly faster than Slowpoke's Confusion attack.

"...oh," Keegan's sense of dramatic flair faded nearly as quickly as it had come, and he quietly returned the Great Ball to his belt. "Yeah I guess that would work too," he said, looking towards the Kirlia. "I mean, if you guys think you can get us there, than I'm for that, especially if it's quicker." In reality, he would much rather have flown there than teleported, and even now he was second guessing agreeing to go along with this. He'd never been comfortable with the idea of teleportation and he honestly wasn't sure that Kirlia could take the both of them, and have them arrive in one piece. The last thing he wanted was to end up half in a wall or something strange and painful like that. He folded his arms and tried to look encouraging, even though he could feel the fear rising up in his chest. "Okay then... has Kirlia actually teleported you over long distances before?" he asked finally, unable to keep it to himself anymore.

Kasiya checked her watch once she'd made it back to the Pokemon center, annoyed to see that it was now nearly three o'clock. She was running out of time. She looked around frantically before spotting a map posted up on a nearby wall and she went over to examine it, easily finding both Slateport and Lilycove before she committed their locations to memory. Lilycove was rather far away and she knew now that there was no way she could get there by foot or on bike in time. "Rats," she mumbled, flopping down in the first couch she made it to. Just perfect, she thought angrily, fighting back the tears that were threatening the corners of her eyes. This would have been a great chance to get to him and try to talk things out... explain to him and make him understand that it had all been Team Rocket's lies, and that things really weren't that way and that I really do care for him... her thoughts rambled on and on, and she squeezed her eyes shut, unable to contain the misery that was eating at her. She grabbed a pillow and mashed her face into it to muffle her sobs.
"This stinks!" she mumbled finally, pulling her tear-stained face from the fabric of the pillow and resting it on her lap. "This really stinks...?" her voice trailed off as suddenly a sweet aroma wafted through the Pokemon Center just then, and it was so very lovely that Kasiya forgot what had been upsetting her. She closed her eyes and breathed in the scent, now sure that it she was smelling the sweet scent of roses. Kasiya looked around, very curious as to where it was coming from. And though she didn't see anything right away, a second glance around allowed her gaze to come to rest upon a Pokemon. At first she thought she was looking at a Roselia, but after further study she realized it wasn't the case and that she actually had no idea what kind of Pokemon she was looking at. The aromatic Pokemon waved a flowery arm at Kasiya, and soon the girl realized it was a greeting of sorts. This Pokemon was green all over, save for its hands which ended in bouquets of beautiful blue and pink roses. It's head was covered with a white fluff that also seemed to resemble a rose, and a long leave that looked much like a cape trailed down its back. "Wow," Kasiya murmured, reaching for her PokeDex. "It's so pretty!"
"Roserade, the Bouquet Pokemon. With the movements of a dancer, it strikes with whips inlaid with hundreds of poisonous thorns that are hidden in it's arms. It usually attracts prey with a sweet aroma before attacking viciously with poisonous jabs from it's hands, both of which carry different types of toxins."
"I see you like my Roserade," said a voice from nearby.

"Your Roserade?" Kasiya asked, looking up to see who the voice belonged to. "Oh, it's you!" she exclaimed, standing up when she realized she was looking at the same woman from yesterday. The Roserade was indeed now standing next to her trainer, looking quite happy. "You... helped us," was all she managed to get out, remembering the large, strong Dragon Pokemon she'd been using to fight against Mai, and how she'd helped her and her injured friends afterward. She also remembered quite vividly how she'd pushed her dislocated shoulder back into place. "Uh..." Kasiya fought with her memory for a name. "You're... you're Cynthia, right?" she asked finally, studying the woman's long, white-blonde hair and finding that she bore a striking resemblance to her evil sister, though she figured that it was just a coincidence ((or a lazy spriting job, on my part, lol)).
Cynthia smiled, and nodded. "Yep, that's me," she said, looking to her Pokemon. "And this is Roserade. You looked upset, so Roserade used her Sweet Scent ability to help calm you down. She likes to help," Cynthia added. Roserade grinned broadly, planting her flowery hands on her 'hips'. It was easy to tell that Roserade was well taken care of by Cynthia. "You're Kasiya, correct? How are you feeling today? You do look much better."
Kasiya managed a weak return smile, and she nodded. "Yes, I'm much better, actually. Mi-" she stopped abruptly, and shook her head. "My friend made sure I got to a hospital and they took care of me. I'm doing all right now," she said, definitely neglecting to tell Cynthia the part where she and Mrs Kyoka worked together to bust Mike out of the crazy house, and how the better part of the hospital had ended up in flames. "Though, I am a little annoyed that I can't get to Lilycove by tonight," she added at the end, more out of spite for her bad luck than anything else.
"You need to get to Lilycove?" Cynthia asked, a little surprised. "But the ship for Sinnoh isn't leaving until tomorrow afternoon, you have plenty of time to get there by then," she explained, but the annoyed look Kasiya was now giving made her understand that there was something else going on. "Okay then, what is it? Why do you need to get to Lilycove by tonight?"

Naturally Slowpoke was hit right in the face by the stream of bubbles, the dopey pokemon just kinda stared for a few seconds before letting out a cry of pain. Who knew Bubbles could hurt so much? Slowpoke defiantly did not like those bubbles! Shaking his head he looked down into the water he was floating on and stared at the star pokemon resting down on the bottom. There was no way he could swim there by the time it woke up, and if he did he might get another face full of bubbles or those icky stars again!
"Well it looks like you put us in a bit of a bind." Robin said with a smirk crossing her arms over her chest. "However we are not out of the game yet!" That being said Robin uncrossed her arms and in a dramatic gesture pointed at her Slowpoke a huge grin on her face. "Slowpoke lets go with your confusion attack again.
What Confusion again? Well ok he could do that, there was less of a chance he would get a face full of bubbles if he attacked from where he was. "Poooooke!" Slowpokes eyes and body started to glow once more as he unleashed another wave of confusion at the star pokemon.
At Robin's side Luffy was prancing around super excited, he could just not get enough of this cool battle! His tasty new Nakama was battling and they were on this cool water stage! How awesome was all of this!

Outside of Oaks lab Dante tossed out the pokeball containing whatever pokemon would take him to Lilicove. When the ball hit the ground out popped in a flash of light a large and powerful looking Pidgeot. "Well at least it isn't the Salamance." Dante muttered to himself for some reason that pokemon seemed to hate him for no reason. Dante had never met the Pidgeot and he just hoped he didn't end up in the wrong regeon while riding it.
Going over to the large bird pokemon he carefully reached out and stroked the long and glossy feathers. "Hello, you can take me to my mom in Lilicove can't you?" He asked in a soft voice. The large bird nodded his regal looking head and bowed down a little to let Dante onto his back. "Thank you." Was all he managed to say before they were up in the air the land below getting smaller and smaller.

Once on the road it did not take long to arrive at the lighthouse. Towering upon a cliff, and its great double doors closed off to the pair as they mounted the steps. Venerax was impressed by the sheer size of the building. The labrat reached the doors and pushed them open, the doors protesting with a heavy groan.
The gambler was suddenly reminded of old horror movies he had seen when he was younger. The ominous castle on a dark night. Lead by a mad scientist. Yeah, this train of thought was going anywhere good.
Shadowy torches lined the large hallway they now stood in. The labrat pushed the doors closed with deep thud. Then turned towards Venerax. "Follow me, we'll see where we can set you up."
He began to lead down the hall.

Well, it seemed one way or another M.A. had landed herself into a battle, although she would have much preferred the man just giving her back Ulani and the egg; they were clearly under her care, you know. Violence was such a dreary way to get things done.
"If you want your little friends, you'll have to get through these two, although that's self-explanatory," the man said idly, sitting on a duffel bag with suspiciously ball-shaped items bulging from it. Before him stood his Pokemon of choice -- a Zangoose and a Skarmory. "Ladies first," he sneered.
"Take the Skarmory, Daemyn! And Tora, Rollout for the Zangoose," M.A. frowned. If they won they could probably coerce the guy -- a rather uncomfortable scenario for M.A. but inevitable, she supposed -- but if they lost, was she supposed to simply let the guy walk away? No, of course not, she couldn't lose Ulani and Maxine's egg. There had to be an alternative somewhere. "Diego... Diego, wake up," she said, prodding the artist as Daemyn unleashed flames onto the steel bird joyfully and Tora zoomed around and around the Zangoose. The elephant was surely getting better and better, M.A. thought for a moment, remembering how she used to knock everything around her over except for the opponent.
"Diego, is there a way we can get Ulani and the egg right now?" she asked quietly of the droopy Smeargle, who yawned and sat back down to ponder a moment. He nodded lazily. "I can handel it," he wrote with his tail into the sky, the words flowing in the wind a little bit before dropping back to the ground as paint. "Just continew battling and do not let him suspect," he wrote, the words disappearing as soon as M.A. read them.
And so the artist got to work while the battle raged on; the man would not allow M.A. to split up the fight as she hoped and so had his Skarmory target the helpless Tora with rapid Air Cutters while the Zangoose prevented Daemyn from helping out with Crush Claw and Pursuit when he tried to run over to Tora. It wasn't looking so hot on their side, especially with Tora taking that beating.

"Uh... why?" Kasiya repeated, immediately looking at the floor. Her cheeks flushed a little, and she swallowed hard, but she quickly pulled herself together and explained both what had happened last night and her plan for reconciliation to Cynthia. She was certain that she was going to get laughed at, as it seemed like a silly thing to do, but Kasiya was quite sure that if she could get him alone and talk to him when he hadn't just bean beaten nearly half to death, then he would at least listen to her. Even if she couldn't fix things completely she was determined to start them back on the path where they could at least on speaking terms. I miss him so much that I'll even settle for being just friends again, she thought, closing her eyes as she waited for Cynthia to laugh at her for being so childish.
Cynthia and her Roserade exchanged a look and then she smiled at Kasiya. "So not only do you need to get to Lilycove, but you also need a way to get into the Breeder's Gala this evening," she said, tapping her chin thoughtfully. "I've got to say that it's awfully brave of you to go through all the trouble to try and amend your relationship with this young man." Roserade was quick to agree, nodding her head and looking up at the younger trainer with a curious sort of respect.
"He means a lot to me, even though he doesn't believe it anymore," Kasiya admitted, the red quickly returning to her cheeks. "After yesterday, I owe it to him to at least try, even if he doesn't listen to me." She sighed, knowing full well that it was a possibility too - that he'd just dig in his heels and be stubborn and ignore her completely, though she hadn't exactly thought of a way to counter that yet. Right now she was still banking on the hope that he still cared enough to at least hear her out.
"If that's the case, I suppose it's your lucky day, then. I was actually heading to Lilycove myself, for the exact same reason you were. Uh, well, not exactly the same reason, but I too am to be attending the Gala tonight." Cynthia folded her arms across her chest and smiled, her Roserade doing the exact same thing. "I see no reason why I can't take you along with me to Lilycove, at least."

"Switching out, very wise." Brawly said with a small grin, actually a bit envious of his challenger's ability to do so. It was during matches like this that the pressure was really on. Brawly was curious what pokemon Jaeshan would send out next, no doubt it would be another rare pokemon. When he saw the Combusken erupt from the pokeball, he smiled a bit. Rare it was, but a typical starter pokemon so it wasn't that much of a surprise. But what was a bit surprising was the intense flames that erupted from it's beak. Jae wasn't wasting any time at all! "A fighting type eh? Now you're talking my lingo bro! Medicham, move it and wait for an opportunity with Detect!" Medicham closed his eyes and the world around him slowed down to a crawl. He could clearly see the oncoming flames with ample time to respond. With a mighty push of his legs, Medicham soared over the attack and even over Combusken, landing only a few feet behind the Young Fowl Pokemon, ready for the next move. While the whole movement happened as slow as could be to Medicham, it was over in little more than the blink of an eye.

Riza could only smile back at Keegan as he expressed his concerns, and she looked down at the psychic Pokemon seated happily in her lap. "Well, I suppose that depends on what you mean by long distances," she said, shrugging. "She got us from some random place in Lilycove back safely to the Pokemon Center, and she did it quite effortlessly, too. But, if you're more comfortable flying, that's fine by me. I guess we'll meet up again in a few hours, before the ball," she said, adding a sly smile to the end of her sentence. "I guess I do need the extra time, after all a lady has to be presentable." She giggled slightly, looking down at Kirlia again. Kirlia laughed as well, though she did feel a bit annoyed that the red haired boy didn't trust her. Riza looked up at Keegan again. "I'm sure you'll manage somehow." She stood up, slinging her black and white backpack over her shoulder. "Well Kirlia, whenever you're ready," she said, setting the psychic-type on the ground, though both she and Kirlia were giving Keegan one last chance to change his mind before they left.

Kasiya's eyes lit up at that. "Really? You'd take me with you to Lilycove?" she exclaimed, nearly bursting with happiness and excitement. Finally, a stroke of luck in her favor! "This is so great! I thought for sure I'd miss my chance, because I am going to Sinnoh tomorrow to deliver a parcel for Professor Oak to some place called Eterna City and I'm pretty sure he's not so I wouldn't be able to talk to him for quite some time..." she trailed off, not even realizing that she'd begun to ramble a bit and she paused to let her breathing catch up to her and to give Cynthia a moment to respond.
"You are going to Sinnoh tomorrow?" Cynthia raised an eyebrow, though it was more of surprised statement than an actual question. "Yes, of course I'll take you, but there is one thing I must tell you before I do," she went on, waiting for the younger trainer to calm down before continuing. "I said that I will be attending the Gala tonight, but I don't know how you'll get in. Since I'm a guest visitor from Sinnoh, I have my own special pass, but you? Well..." Cynthia trailed off, obviously thinking about how they could get Kasiya to attend the Gala and without stepping on anyone's toes, so to speak. The Champ tapped her chin and paced back and forth for a few minutes, still deep in thought. After what seemed like forever to Kasiya, she finally seemed to come up with something, whirling around on a heel and grinning at the girl. "Aha! I think I just might know a way," she said, a bit of a devious hint to her tone.
Kasiya's heart sank a little further into her stomach when she heard Cynthia say "but". Okay, she could get to Lilycove and quickly, but...? Her fingers knotted behind her back as she waited for Cynthia to explain, feeling a little better when she realized she had no intention of leaving her at the door. She waited patiently for the woman to brainstorm, nearly jumping when she finally did. "What? What's your idea?" Kasiya asked warily, knowing that tone all too well.
"How do you feel about uniforms?" Cynthia asked, as sweetly as she could.
Kasiya gulped.
=-=-=-=-= As speedy and agile as Combusken was, even she barely managed to catch a glimpse of the Medicham as it deftly jumped up and over her, escaping the flames completely unharmed. Combusken immediately ceased the attack and spun around, her clawed hands quickly springing up to protect her upper body as her powerful legs carried her back a few steps. She would have to keep on her toes with this one. "Nice move," Jaeshan commented appreciatively, carefully studying the Medicham for a moment. Shelgon had really done a number on it and he knew it probably wouldn't take much more to bring it down. And Detect doesn't always work if you use it in succession, Jaeshan thought, looking to Combusken, who as always, was raring to go. "Okay Combusken, use Focus Energy," he commanded. When and if Combusken were to land any hits, he wanted to make sure they counted. A fiery aura erupted around the Fire/Fighting-type and she let out the fierce, sharp, and intimidating cry that her kind were known for. Adrenaline surged through her body, the strong muscles in her legs becoming taut and ready for anything. There even appeared to be a blaze in her eyes, as Combusken had never been more ready for anything in her entire life.

"Uh... err..." Keegan frowned and looked away from Riza and Kirlia. He knew enough about the Ralts line to know that Pokemon like them were directly connected to the emotions of their trainers and those around them, and his doubting Kirlia wasn't exactly a confidence booster. He looked back at the duo, though still not entirely sure about this, and sighed. "All right, let's go then," he said, adjusting his own backpack so that it was on securely, trying not to wince as it put a bit of pressure on his injured ribs. "Get us there safely, Kirlia," he nodded, steeling his nerves even though his stomach was threatening to empty its contents right then and there. I'm so gonna need a smoke after this, he thought as he took up position beside Riza, doing his best to keep his surface thoughts optimistic.

"I know you can do it, Kirlia," Riza said, smiling at the psychic-type. "All you have to do is clear your mind and focus." Kirlia nodded and reached her hand up to touch Riza's leg before closing her eyes. Riza reached over and grabbed Keegan's hand, closing her own eyes as she wasn't exactly completely used to teleportation just yet.
Riza's cheerful mood and encouraging demeanor were quite helpful to Kirlia as she focused her power, forming an image of the picturesque Lilycove City in her mind's eye. Even the red haired boy's few good thoughts were like jet fuel to her. "Kirrrr....liaa!" she cried, the space around the Pokemon and two humans rippling a bit before they all vanished in a flash of white light.
For a grueling moment or two Riza felt as though she were falling through space, with nothing to catch her. The only thing that kept her grounded, so to speak, was the feel of Kirlia's energy around her, and Keegan's hand, which she was holding onto for dear life. After what seemed like forever they finally touched down on something soft, and when Riza dared to open her eyes again the three of them were sitting on a patch of green grass, some ten feet or so from the entrance to the Lilycove department store. "We made it," Riza said quietly, her voice slightly shaky. "Good job, Kirlia," she said, quickly picking up the psychic in her arms. Kirlia smiled weakly and closed her eyes. It seemed that using her teleport ability was still quite draining, especially after traveling so far a distance. "Rest now," she said, recalling the tired Pokemon into her poke ball and standing up. "Well, I guess we should start getting ready soon," she said, grinning at Keegan. She was very proud of Kirlia, and knew she could expect great things from the emotion Pokemon in the future.

This too is sacred... After spending an hour hiding behind a garbage dumpster in an alley near an all-hours sushi bar Travis was finally able to emerge and continue on to the warehouse where he was hoping for a warm reception from Team Rocket. Darting from shadow to shadow and diving into whatever cover he could find when flashing red and blues went by he made his way carefully back to where his life of crime had begun. The warehouse hadn't changed much in the past 10 years, perhaps only getting grungier and more dilapidated. Appearances were decieving, however, and though it looked condemned on the outside, on the inside it was comfortable, almost lavish. Only one more wide alley separated him from the secured door and when it was clear and silent he crossed, rapping impatiently.
A small window slid open in the heavy metal and a pair of green eyes peered out of a pale face then narrowed. "What do you want?" a male voice asked cautiously. Travis rolled his eyes and pulled on the door handle. It didn't budge. "What do you mean, what do I want?" he snarled back, releasing the handle. "I want IN, you idiot. Do you know who I am?" The eyes nodded but the door didn't open. "Sorry man but you've been cut loose; Marco's orders. Team Rocket doesn't want anything to do with someone who's spent time in the joint. Who knows what you told 'em." Travis' mouth hung open for a second in surprise then snapped shut. He pulled out the Machop's Pokeball from his pocket and thrust it at the door's window. "What about this? Why spring me?" he ground out through clenched teeth. The man behind the door seemed to shrug. "A parting gift? I dunno, none of my business what Marco chooses to do. But I got my orders and you're not comin' in. Oh, thinkin' of stuff-back away from the door." Curious, Travis complied, his head reeling from all the new information. Kicked off of Team Rocket? After ten years of loyal and successful service?~ Left on his own? What would he do? Where would he go?
The door opened and a pale hand tossed a kid-sized green and white backpack at his feet. It clattered as it fell so there was something in it at least. "Marco said to give you that; he said you'd know what it was." There was a hint of laughter in the man's voice as the door shut and Travis picked up the bag. Indeed, this was the very packsack that had been stolen from him the day he's joined Team Rocket. Why Marco had kept it all these years was a mystery. Perhaps he appreciated the epic irony. Maybe the grumpy fat man had a soft spot for the gutsy kid who'd climbed the warehouse walls and broken in to save his Pokemon. In any case, Travis would never know. "Thanks." the former thief muttered, not hiding his bitterness at all. "Thanks for nothing." he added under his breath. The straps of the backpack adjusted pretty big but it was still a tight fit for the now grown man to put on and he knew it looked ridiculous. The man behind the door snickered. "So long, Pokemon Pincher." The window shut with a muted clang. "So long, Team Rocket." he replied quietly, turning away and slinging the bag over his shoulder. ...love as thou wilt

Keegan inadvertently held his breath when Riza took his hand - this meant it was time. He slammed his eyes shut and forced himself to think happy thoughts, most of which revolved around his Pokemon and high points of his journey thus far. Suddenly it felt like he was falling and he squeezed Riza's hand tightly, certain that if he were to let go he'd end up anywhere but where he wanted to be. His stomach churned violently and for a terrifying moment he thought he'd lost his grip on Riza's hand...
...but suddenly everything felt normal again and Keegan opened his eyes to see nothing but green and he panicked for all of a second before he realized he was face-down in the grass. "What the..." he grumbled, his voice muffled and he pulled himself up, stray pieces of grass clinging to his face in various places. "Huh..." he mumbled, looking around slowly. They were indeed in Lilycove now, albeit with an entrance that could have been a little more graceful but for now the redhead chose to be grateful that they'd made it there in one piece. He ran a hand through his messy hair, glad to see that all his limbs seemed to be in their proper places and in working order. He looked up at Riza, who was now recalling a tired-looking Kirlia into her Pokeball and he grinned. "Yeah, she was awesome," he admitted, standing up only when he was sure his legs would allow him to. "You are right though, we need to get ready..." his voice trailed off slowly and he sighed. Oh well, the sooner tonight came, the sooner he could get it over with, right? Right.
He brushed a few non-existent blades of grass from his coat and jeans, doing everything in his power to delay what he knew would happen next. He still had to go find something suitable to wear and possibly get himself a quick dinner as well as a new pack of smokes or three. He'd gone through that last pack far too quickly for his liking but he didn't care. The nicotine was really the only thing that would keep him calm enough to make it through the next couple of days, and then he would see about kicking the habit to the curb. He sighed again and looked to Riza. "You've still got your ticket, right? I'll meet you outside at about a quarter to seven. Sound good?"
