A small grunt comes from Luke near the top of the stairs. Then the sound of smacking lips. Then silence. Upon observation, Luke is now upside down on the stairs, his feet near the top, and his head towards the bottom. The blanket is actually curled around him like a snake. His vest somehow wound up on top of his shirt and cloak near the wall. A surprizingly quiet sleeper, Luke's still in a rather deep sleep...

The elf at the window took no notice of Valerye as the girl went for the door. It wasn't until her own name was mentioned that Emmia ripped her eyes from the window and saw the tall dark elf she knew so well. A smile came in slight surprise as she glanced up at Ichnel, but was soon distracted by Gabe. Emmia found his antics quite amusing and watched, grinning as Marael mumbled her own 'good morning'.
And in turn so did Valerye, who still held the door for Ichnel.
Emmia nodded to all three, keeping her amused smile.
"Morning to you all as well." she said with a laugh hiding in her voice.
She glanced over the rest of the room, still scattered with sleeping humans. She couldn't help but smile again, knowing they were all at peace here.

((A bit short... but I might add some stuff later. Kinda in a rush...))

Ichnel chuckled. How.... interesting the humans were when waking up. He found it amusingly charming.

"Good morning to you Valerye and to the rest of you. I am sorry for dropping by unannounced, but the Elder has requested an audience with our guests as well as you Marael," he said, still not quite going into the house.

"This truly is an urgent matter, therefore I ask that you be ready within 5 or so minutes. I will be waiting outside with those who are..er...more awake shall we say," Ichnel said, smirking at the sight of a tangle Luke on the stairs," Emmia, do you think you could get everyone up please?"

He nodded to the ladies and gently shut the door behind him. Ichnel had been doing a lot of waiting recently, but he had a feeling that things were about to get very interesting.

Emmia took her time as she turned back to face Ichnel. Now she was interested. Curious, yet predictable that the Elder would want to meet with the new arrivals all so quickly. Nothing seemed to slip passed the wise old elf. Though this time Emmia presumed that Ichnel's visit with Jao and the mention of another darkling as well as humans was most likely the reason for such an urgent meeting.
"Oh, yes... yes of course. I'll have them up in no time." she said with a grin as she turned, yet again to observe those still asleep. First, of course, had to be Lae. As the owner of this house, she needed to be informed of what was going on. Emmia stepped forward towards the slumbering elf in the corner bed, but suddenly her attention was caught.
Noren, the white wolf that still lay with Terra's sleeping form, had perked up at her movement and now gave her an odd look. Something seemed to pass between the two and Emmia nodded with an amused grin.
While Noren gently started to nugde Terra, Haylin, and Jeni with his wet nose, Emmia went for Lae.
She softly shook her friend's shoulder and whispered to her.
"Laaaae! Time to wake up and quide a pack of humans with me! Come on, both San and Sun have risen and so should you!"

(( More to come... still in a bit of a rush here... lots of school work and I need sleepy time.))

Marael shook her head and leaned against the wall near the doorway as Emmia and Noren proceeded to wake up the humans. She heard a noise from the stairs and looked up to see Luke fast asleep in what looked like a very uncomfortable postion. She watched him a moment, then softly climbed the stairs to touch his shoulder.

"Luke. Come awake, we are leaving soon." She said, prodding him gently in the shoulder.

Luke stirs with a groan. His eyes slowly pry open to look up at Marael. A small smile comes to his half asleep face.
"Good morning, beautiful."
His voice, in a strangely deep tone, cracks the words out. Poor Luke. The guy never was conscious enough in the mornings to separate speech from thought.

Jao leaned against the cool bark of a birch tree, head tilted back to watch the gentle sway of its branches dancing in the morning light. It had taken quite some time to find someone willing to give him directions to the place where Emmia had been staying, but now that he'd finally managed to get there, he couldn't quite bring himself to knock on the door.
He lowered his head, letting his hair fall around his face. Their meeting had been painfully brief, but he'd never met ayone like Emmia before. Were all Bredians like her? And if so.. could he really... could he really go through with-
Jao sighed. Best not to dwell on thoughts like that. He glanced over at Lae's house, a half smile twitching at his lips. There were rumors going around town of strange elves with clipped ears and ancient garb taking refuge there. Well, he'd have to see it to believe. Round ears? Too bizarre. The only time he'd ever seen anyone without the familiar point was an old man from his village, his ears shortened in punishment for some unspeakable crime in his youth. Could all of these people be fugitives? Jao wondered. He couldn't imagine any other explaination. It all seemed so strange.

"Ugh...go away Emmia...I'm still tired..."
Lae grumbled while turning back over. She stayed face down for a few seconds before everything from the day before had come back to her. Sitting up quickly she suveyed the room noticing she really was one of the last people up. Still half asleep and quite droopy she streatched her arms and yawned. Looking up at Emmia she asked,

"Did I really fall asleep with all my guests still up?!

Finally quite awake she wisked herself out of bed and faced the group of newly risen people. Making up her mind she new the first thing they were going to have to do. That happened to be to test the humans out for magick. It seemed to already be almost burting out of the seams and it would be any second now before someone like Terra started to bother the trees and Haylin to start floating. The Magick arena was going to be one heck of a busy place today and simply the elfs here had more on their plate than they should have ever taken on. However she looked over the still sleepy forms and smiled, finally she was going to make a diffrence. She was finally going to change someones lives for the good. She wasn't going to be considered as the girl that was just "good at bows" and the girl that was going to be "just like her dad". She was going to make a diffrence and that made her more excited than she had been in years.

Now smiling she said,

"Alright, now everyone once you are awake and have aten some good breakfast, we are all going to head to the Magick areana and decide what your magick is and you will learn the first steps to control it. I must say that this will be one heck of a day for you so you really do need to eat your breakfast. Then again tomorrow we will start weapons training, and see how you excel at that."

Looking back over the group she felt a mothers pride. This was going to be one heck of a falling leaf season.

Ichnel knocked on the door again, hearing more sounds of stirring with the house. As he opened the door, he heard Lae tell them that they were to go to the Magick arena so as to test themselves for their strengths and weaknesses.

He thought that was a fantastic idea for he himself often proctored the elves who'd let him. If there was one thing Ichnel loved besides plants and the Earth, it was to teach others. Apparently it was a strange trait in Bredia as it was in Shalondia, but generally less frowned upon. Then there was the fact that the human's Magickal aura was getting so pent up that Ichnel had felt it not but half-way down the street. But as much as Ichnel was keen to Lae's plan, there were more pressing matters to be attended to.

"Lae, would it be at all possible to journey to the Magick arena after the sun's peak*? The elder has requested a meeting with you, your guests, and Marael. I am sure it will not take long. He sent me to guide you to the meeting place," Ichnel said.
He slightly bowed his head so that it wouldn't bump the top of the door frame.

A wide grin appeared on Marael's face at Luke's words. "Good morning." She replied. "Now get up. We eat, and the elder has requested an audience. He should not be kept waiting." She said, prodding Luke again.

She straightened at Ichnel's words and gave a small frown. The elder wanted to see her as well? What for? She shook her head. Probably about where I found the humans. She thought. Nothing to worry about.

Luke groans a bit and slowly stands, peeling the blanket from him. He rubs his face as he reaches down for his doublet. Wearing it like an open vest, he then proceeds to strap his sword on.
"So, wait...you said something about Magic?"
PostPosted: Sat Sep 29, 2007 3:39 pm

Emmia laughed quietly at Lae's waking and nodded at her question with a fake look of disappointment. Not that she enjoyed seeing her friend distressed, but more like the look on Lae's face was so priceless. Emmia grinned as she watched Lae toss herself out of bed and try to take hold of the situation as quickly as possible. Though, she noticed the short moment Lae had taken before adressing them and realized that, as Lae started to speak, she herself had forgotten the very reason she was asked to wake her friend. They were all expected to meet with the Elder.
But thankfully, this was the moment that Ichnel had chosen to return, and he soon pointed out this miscommunication.
Then Emmia's thoughts again led to Jao. Now that Ichnel was here, she couldn't help but wonder where the darkling from the last moon cycle had gone. 'Maybe I could ask...' she thought, but no. Not now. It wasn't the time nor place, and they had to be prepared to see the Elder. The side story here, was getting the humans to all wake up.
Emmia grinned again as she caught the sight of Marael waking Luke, who seemed to be very groggy and a bit silly in the morning. But Jeni, Terra, and Haylin seemed to be the hard ones to pull themselves from sleep.

Noren had come around to each of them and either pawed at their sides or licked their faces. He whined a little in frustration and eventually came back to Terra. She had simply rolled over when Noren left to tend to the other girls, and now she was just back to sleeping all curled in a ball. Noren prodded her back with his muzzle then came around and licked her ear.
Instantly she yelped at the weird slimey feeling and jumped, more like crawled, away in surprise, wiping at her ear. Icy blue circles and light green irises connected in a cold stare before the snowy dog-of-a-wolf started to wag his tail in triumph. He sat down infront of Terra with a smirk in his eyes. She scoffed back at him and lazily got to her feet, occasionally glaring down at the wolf that sat so happily near her.
Terra glanced around at all who were within the room and was surprised to see Ichnel at the door, saying something about meeting someone Terra hadn't caught the name of. Then, Luke was asking about magic. Were they really going to learn? Her mind ran with the idea of controlling fire, like Emmia or power over the earth, like Ichnel. Her mood skyrocketed and all the sudden she was full of energy and all traces of sleepiness were gone.

User ImageThere are no such things as coincidence.

Trying hard to disguise her impatience, Valerye walked out the door with her things, staff included. She grinned at the prospect of going to the Magic Arena. Then there came the question of her magical abilities. Did she have any? And if so, what were they? She breathed in the fresh air deeply. "Bredia's air is so clean." Valerye said leaning on a tree near the front of Lae's house. "Earth so needs to clean up its smog."

Jao watched with interest as someone finally left Lae's house. She seemed normal enough, until she turned to lean against a tree. Those ears... Jao tried not to stare. Her clothing was so strange, and that staff...
Shock registered across Jao's face as realization finally hit him. Humans! Real live humans! Right here in the village! He pushed off of the tree he'd been resting against and nearly took a step closer before he checked himself. He couldn't just barge over to gawk at the poor thing. But still... a human... It was as if the illustration of a bed time fairy tale book had suddenly peeled off the pages and into Bredia.
Jao was left standing near the path that led over to Lae's, conflicted as to whether approach the human or to wait for Emmia. Emmia. Speaking of conflictions. He winced inwardly and decided to wait it out.

Ichnel laughed a little as a large white wolf licked his human's ear. Her reaction was most humorous.

He saw Valerye get her things together, her impatience thinly disguised. Ichnel smiled. She and Jeni were very similar.

"I think I will join you my dear," Ichnel said, exiting the house and walking alongside Valerye. When she made the comment about how Earth needed to clean its "smog" Ichnel was confused. What in the Forest of Eloush was "smog"?

He was about to ask her what this "smog" was when he heard a twig snap not too far from the house. He nonchalently turned his eyes to the direction where the sound came from. There was someone standing in the shadows of the trees, just barely concealed. Was it the other dark elf? Or maybe it was-

"Jao, was it? Please, come join us! It would be much easier to speak with you if you were closer," Ichnel called out.

He hoped the elf would comply. Ichnel had been a tad surprised when Emmia showed up after he'd spoken with the elder, bearing yet another visitor. His initial impression of the dark haired elf was that he was extremely timid, but, as Ichnel had vowed, he would not judge by looks alone.
