Y'know that picture "Jesus was a Hufflepuff"? I'm really kinda tempted to make a "Gambino is a Slytherin". lol

I thought of something else I want...

I want Rowling to write Hogwarts, A History. whee

Added 7/31:
I also wonder if Harry's still a Parselmouth now that his Horcrux is destroyed.

I wouldn't think he would be. It was only that bit of Voldie's soul that allowed him to speak it. Then again, being a very very very very very very distant relative of Voldie's, it IS possible that he was able to speak it before Voldie zapped him.

I have been told over at Hare Styles that this is the place to discuss Deathly Hallows with my friends. I hope this white text is all it takes:

I enjoyed it, but now let's get nitpicky!

I respect that every single death scene wasn't dragged out... it did feel more real that there wasn't time to deal with every death. That being said, I still felt a lot for Dobby perhaps because I had always found him so annoying in the past and he did so well in this book. Both he and Kreacher came off really well.

My tears started flowing once they got to Hogwarts though. It wasn't really sadness so much as "Yay! Everybody! Doing their thing! Go Everybody! Go! Oh Hogwarts, I missed you!"

I knew Lupin and Tonks were doomed once I heard who they were up against. This leaves a new orphan. Can you say "Teddy Lupin and the Infinite Sequels?" Okay that's just a pipe dream.

[Another book I would be mildly interested in is if they retold Deathly Hallows from everyone else's point of view - You get to see Luna, Neville and Ginny doing their thing at Hogwarts, Lupin and Tonks in battle, Ron and Hermione in the Chamber of Secrets (dirty!), the trials and tribulations of the underground magical radio, etc.]

When Harry uses the stone to see his dead loved ones while he's on his way for the final showdown... it really reminded me of the last episode of Giant Robo. I'm sure they're not the first place to use it either, but that was just what it reminded me of.

Luna hasn't gotten enough love throughout all the books. I always felt she should end up with Harry because she's the only one who doesn't seem ga ga over him based on his status in the community. I suppose she's just too cool for him wink

A friend of mine pointed out that the epilogue was very Fanficky and I have to agree. It was almost as if Rowling knew it was coming so decided she would at least pick out the number of kids and the names.

I joked to Diffy that he could start reading at the chapter entitled 'The Deathly Hallows' and really not miss that much.

I did like how Rowling used Dumbledore to tie the book together as one cohesive single book rather than an end of a series that can't stand so well on its own. It was also good just to have a lot of Dumbledore despite the fact he died.

It did feel like a lot of the loose ends throughout the series that people knew about had sort of anticlimatic endings. I suppose when we heard that Peter Pettigrew would come in handy, I was thinking something more awesome like how Gollum comes in handy (well, not that awesome, that would feel like a rip) instead of "Hey I saved you!" which could easily have been replaced with "Hey what's that over there!" For a book that had hundreds of pages of 'what do we do now?', it seemed awfully rushed when tying up those loose ends.

Ron & Harry as aurors who revolutionize the industry - for some reason I can't help but think of this as a natural buddy-cop movie.

I really wonder how the twins' business will work without well, the twins. There's not even 50% of them left!!

Okay, that's it for now, more when I think of it.

Hogwarts, A History would be fun.

xd heart Some day you'll finally get the answer to that question.

I just stumbled across that interview this morning, too. heart Good stuff. There's also the transcript of the TV interview, here for anybody (like me) who missed it when it aired. A lot of repeat information, but some other information, too.

I really am sad that it's all over, though. It just feels wrong not being able to talk about what clues were in the latest book and what expectations are for the next. crying No more books makes Mala a sad panda.

...Guess it's time to work on all the other books out there. heart

Nabs-mom recommends "City of Ember" and "Cirque du Freak". I haven't read either, but Nabs-mom was quite frenzied over both series.

Edit: Non-spoiler and completely hilarious!

I am a fan of the George RR Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series. heart I am happy to discuss that with people. biggrin It's ongoing with plenty of clues to fret over. Hopefully the HBO series will do the books awesome!

Back on topic with another spoiler:

I was a little upset at first that all of Harry's kids are named things that Harry would want. I suppose we can imagine the middle names came from Ginny but well they still need to work Remus, Nymphadora, Sirius, uh... Dobby... Hagrid even though he's not dead, etc, into the honorary kid names. Maybe after Ginny retires from Quidditch she follows the family tradition of 7 kids.

Of course, I think if anything we can count on Percy to follow the family tradition of 7 kids and like the good little son he is, name them all after important Weasley names like his parents would have wanted him to.

Oh poor Dobby Hagrid Potter. That's gotta suck at school. Same for Nymphadora Hedwig Potter. (I wonder what Wizarding elementary schools are like.) Well, hopefully they will name the dog Mad Eye and not another son.

I'll keep them in mind. I've still got a ton of books around the house to read, too. I can't stop myself from buying them when they're on sale. sweatdrop

And I counter with this.

I kinda liked the W.I.T.C.H. series, but I never did finish it. They're real short tho.

Well, "Mad Eye"'s real name is Alastair, but having 2 Al's might confuse everyone. What about Fred and Colin? gonk There's also that old woman who got eaten by Nagini... Bathilda?

The whole Mad Eye line of conversation reminds me of the line from The Last Crusade, "Indy was the dog's name!"

But yeah, I pity the kids that end up with some of those names. xd

Oh, and this. I laughed so hard at the last panel. 4laugh

I would imagine before Harry killed Voldie, that pure blood families would've either home schooled or hired tutors. Draco's family seems rich enough that they could've hired a private tutor (a snooty one from an old family) to teach Draco. Since Ron doesn't know much about muggles at the beginning of the series, I can only assume that Mrs. Weasley (from lack of money) probably taught them. And really... wizards don't seem to have much need of anything more than the basics. You don't seem them using trig or needing to know how a water molecule is constructed. sweatdrop
