Skye had seen the last time they were here the way they took their books home, and she let go of the book willingly. But she left her feather inside it.
"Skye give book to lady, and take book home?" she asked, grinning at Lore. "And Celebor and Serenity, too! Give books to lady!" She pointed at them as she gave them the order. The children didn't take it amiss, they knew the drill too. Celebor took Serenity's book and handed it, along with his, to the woman across the counter.
"We're gonna get the same ones back again, right?" he asked anxiously, looking up at Lore.

"Yes," Lore reassured Celebor with a chuckle, "She's just going to check it out for us and give us the due dates for them so we know when to bring them back."
Since he too was use to the drill for books and anything in general around here.

"Okey dokey!" Celebor grinned, putting the books on the counter. He put his hands behind his back and rocked forward and backward on the balls of his feet, waiting - though not perhaps as patiently as he could have.Skye looked at Elnara, then up at Lore. "Mommy doesn't have a book," she pointed out to him. "Why Mommy doesn't have a book?"

"I don't know..." Lore replied, "Elnara do you want a book?" he asked.
Since the children asked, he might as well ask as well. He was sure he was amusing the lady behind the counter.

Elnara had been lost in her own thoughts, but she was jerked away from them at the sudden question. "Hm?" she asked, blinking. Then she blinked and shook her head. "No, thanks," she replied. "Not this time. I've a lot to do at the moment, I won't have time before it would be due again."
She patted Skye on the head. "But thank you for thinking about me," she grinned.

Lore grinned at that as he let the worker finish checking out the books before taking them and giving them to each child.
"Is there anything else before we go?"

'We'?
Elnara grinned. "Planning on coming with us?" she teased. "We're finished here, we'll be heading back to the cafe for the night.

Lore hadn't even realized he had said that until Elnara pointed it out.
"I don't know," he laughed a bit, "I mean, I'm done for the night and my place is right across from the library, but I could also stay at the cafe too."

"You know you're welcome," Elnara grinned, taking the library books and tucking them into her bag. "You're always welcome."
Skye wriggled out of Lore's arms, and all three children headed for the doors.

"True," Lore murmured softly as he watched Skye go.
He mused on this, and thought why not. It wasn't like he had any plants to water tonight.
"I'll join you," he finally replied.

Elnara grinned and slung her bag over her shoulder, then reached out to take Lore's hand.
"Come on then," she encouraged him, "before the children get too far ahead of us."

Lore grinned as he took Elnara's hand and strided to catch up to the children before they wandered too far away. He doubted this late at night it would be good for them to do so, so it would be better for them to be close to the children.

It was early morning, a beautiful day, and Skye was walking alongside Lore, holding one of his hands. The tiny dark-winged angel girl was tired - she wasn't used to having to wake up early, since of course she didn't go to school. Her eyelids were slightly droopy, and she kept rubbing her eyes and yawning during their walk to the library. Her wings, normally beating excitedly, were still. Her grip on Lore's hand was lax, and she kept leaning her head against his leg tiredly.

"Still very tired?" Lore asked softly as he opend the door to the library, he hoped on the way she wasn't going to fall. She did seem quite out of it, but to be fair it wasn't like she had to be on a timetable like this.
Well, he thought, she should start getting use to it, but breakfast would help, the assistants brought breakfast, it was one of the few sane things they did together that didn't involve library work. The staff room was somewhere in the back of the library, so that was where he head.

Skye rubbed her eye with the back of Lore's hand as she followed him. She had her own little bag over her shoulder: a non-spelled one, that held only a few small items. She had insisted on bringing it because Lore had one, too, and logic stated that if she was going to work like him then she needed a bag like him too.
She looked up at Lore, her eyes bright with sleep. "Lore not sleepy?" she asked him in a soft voice.
