It's because he's not just lazy, he's also full of himself. He thinks he's all that and a bag of chips when he's really just a sleepy loser.

Juan wasn't so bad; once i gave him a yellow scarf. He was a good melee fighter.
I personally liked all 3 main characters. Am currently in chapter 5 headed for all the big battles.
I did win my bet with who the masked bishop was though. LOL

I think everyone here won that bet. I was in denial the whole time though... I hated the masked bishop so much I just kept yelling at the screen every time he appeared "You better not friggin be Luc you b*****d, if you are I swear I'll break the disc!" Then he took off his mask and my hatred of Suikoden 3 began... to grow bigger sweatdrop

It's sort of a love hate relationship (alot of hate). I love the intro, chunks of Luc's chapter, and Chris. I hate the gameplay, most of the characters and the music.

Yeah, I guess I feel the same way then. Lol I'm just obsessed with Luc and uhh yeah I think you get it xp lol. The music was really dull and not really appealing to me at all. *sigh*

THE SONG THAT PLAYS AT BRASS CASTLE IS AWESOME.
That was a great game... Chris is a pain in the a**, though. So is Hugo.
Geddoe is one awesome narrator.

Lol okay, there were some good music in it too sweatdrop although I can't remember at the top of my head ;D
I like Geddoe hehe <3 he's awesome. Chris's story really was a pain to play through sweatdrop she goes to too many places. And Hugo...is kind of like just a kid. Although he's almost the same age as the other heroes he just seemed less mature for me. (I can't say for when he grows up though ninja ) hurhur 8D

I never got into liking Geddoe. His playthrough was really painful because I didn't care much about his mystery or character, and all I remember is that friggin mountain path.
I don't remember the specific song that plays at the castle, but the music in Suikoden 3 as a whole (the field, the dramatic scenes, the battles etc.) I remember being very underwhelming, especially since I had such high expectations after the first 2. That isn't to say there aren't a few good tracks, just the majority I didn't like.
I think someone else pointed out before that the reason Hugo seems different from the other Hero characters is that he actually has a personality. You make all the decisions and lines for the others so their personality if left to the imagination, while Hugo has his own reactions and speeches without you. So where you had to option to make the other heroes whine and moans, you are forced to listen to Hugo's.

The mountain path... Ugh, don't even mention that place.
That thing is longer and more grueling than the any of the 'real' dungeons. Which is completely ridiculous. Final dungeons are supposed to be hard, not... easier than the mountain path.
And I agree with Quistis on this; Geddoe's character was made completely cool from the punch. He totally owned that guy. Just a simple little punch and that fool went flying. Awesome.

The only person that beats him in his Swing is Emily...and even she doesn't dish out the amount of damage that he does with a Killer rune. To get rid of his sleep status, give him something that negates status effects. Belle's Turtle Tunic does well enough for Thomas' chapters; you can slap a Yellow Scarf on him for the rest of the game.

I use Emily all the time. I beef her up with Fury Rune and Killer xD So she's just as good as Juan, maybe better ninja
