All About Mas Y Menos... More or Less
Producer David Slack recently provided titanstower.com some tidbits concerning new characters Mas y Menos, who appear as members of Titans East toward the end of season three: "Ah yes, Mas y Menos. We'll wait to see what everyone thinks of them. They are two characters that we created. They're brothers. And they only speak Spanish. So that was fun. I don't know that we'd want to do a whole episode with them.... but we got a little bilingual in the show. I speak decent Spanish, but Alex Soto - our director, speaks fluent Spanish. So he was correcting my terrible translation."
Mas y Menos are the first Titans team members created specifically for the animated series - in the tradition of Wonder Twins, Firestar and Harley Quinn. David adds, "When we originally talked about doing Mas y Menos, we talked about doing a female Flash character. We thought it might be easier to create our own."
So what are their powers? "They can go really fast, but only when they're touching. They're kind of like circus acrobats. If they grab hands, zoom! If they get knocked apart, they're just little 12 year old kids. It's kind of a cross between Flash and the Wonder Twins. That's really something that Sam [Register], Glen [Murakami] and the whole group cooked up. the great thing about TITANS is that it's really just a pot-luck. Everyone brings something. It's a real group effort that everybody kicks in something extra. And I think that's part of why the show is so much fun to work on."
