Kaleb shook his head. "I don't think honesty always has to mean nice. Honest just means you're telling the truth, and the truth isn't always nice to hear."

"Mnn..." Kaleb's contented expression faltered a bit at that reminder, and he let his head rest back against Reno's chest. "I-I'm going to have to come with you guys on more of those jobs, right?"

Kaleb jumped as he was poked in the side, right where he was most ticklish, and then blushed brightly. "I-I don't know if I'll ever get used to it," he admitted in a timid voice. "I-I'm afraid of the nightmares..."

Kaleb shuddered a bit. He was used to the sounds associated with setting and healing broken bones, but it wasn't good for him to dwell on the thought of intentionally breaking bones. "D-do you often go out on jobs that require force like that?"

Kaleb whimpered a little before he could stifle it against Reno's chest. For someone who had grown up wanting to heal and repair damage, all this talk about causing it made him feel lost, and in way over his head.
