"Nature may be capricious, but she's doesn't take whimsically to the after effects of punishment," Atticus argued quickly. "I highly doubt anything's going to change." And beneath the argument, the implication of 'Can't we just drop this?'
The wolf racked through his brain tirelessly, searching for something new to say. Something less... stupid. Or obvious. Either or. A-Why are you angry? No. B-Did I do something wrong? You know the answer to that. C-Can we talk about it? For God's sake, that hasn't worked yet, has it? D-Want a hug? Ha. Veeery funny. E-...running out of ideas here, this isn't doing anything productive.
Well... leaving still wasn't an option. That went for getting any closer as well. The moment Hisoka had realized he'd gotten as close as he was now had erupted in a snarl.
F-"Can we try this again?" ...better than nothing.

"You don''t need to be involved if you don''t want to be, of course, Atticus," Balin shrugged. "I''m simply going to keep an eye on him-- do as you will regarding him."
Hisoka sighed softly-- he couldn''t stay mad at Tsuzuki for long... it just didn''t work. The wolf was too damn... sweet. "...what did you think of Cino?" the cat finally threw out, spitting the unicorn''s name.

Atticus decided not to hide the pout. "You're doing this on purpose aren't you?" he whined delicately at Balin. "What are you doing, testing the water? Trying to figure out what I think?"
Silly beta. Taking things too personally. Tsk tsk.
Progress! Tsuzuki almost skipped for joy, but he happened to be sitting beside a bookshelf. It would have been a disaster. Interesting progress though... "You don't like him? He seems friendly enough..."

Balin laughed quietly. "So young and so touchy..." he murmured. "I was merely telling you as Alpha to Beta."
Hisoka snarled at that, curling up more.

Sniffing in offense, Atticus rolled his eyes. "Sure you were, darling," he commented lightly. "If you don't mind, I'm going to get out of here before we run into any experimental settings, hm?" he spread his wings, tilting his head to the side in a silent question of 'Anything else?'
Not only progress, a specific. "Okay... why don't you like him?"

"How many members of the Nest have you met, Atticus?" Balin asked calmly, considering. There weren't that many residents...
Hisoka glared at the ground. "He was...."

Atticus folded his wings irritably. "Actually met or heard of? Both Malfoys, the Sakurazukamori, our wonderful Tatsumi, miss raven herself and Asteil, of course. Why?"
He could think of any number of adjectives to fill the space in the air. Most of them would probably do nothing for either the solving of the problem at hand or Hisoka's mood in general. "Was...?" he echoed.

"Ah, so you haven't had the pleasure of meeting some of the other charming members of the house I've landed in," Balin coughed quietly. "There are a few I think you might enjoy meeting, should you ever wander here again-- look up Kaine and Cino some time," the Alpha suggested.
"He was-- oh, what's the point! You won't understand even if I explain it!" Hisoka snarled unhappily.

Raising an eyebrow, Atticus peered curiously at his alpha. Was he trying... to set him up? ....weeeird. "Drop me a line if we decide to do any responsible leader-type things, won't you, Balin dear?" he asked shortly before heading back in the direction they'd come. It would be nigh on impossible to take flight from such a densely wooded area. He'd wait for a clearing, or until he got out. Whichever came first.
Resisting a 'Hey, I was your age once' sort of retort, Tsuzuki went for something a tad less confrontational, "I certainly won't understand it if you don't tell me about it."

"...I almost feel sorry for him," Balin murmured to himself as he watched Atticus head back. "Almost."
Hisoka mewled unhappily. "...he was flirting with you," the cat finally admitted, flushing slightly as he glared at the floor.
Asteil took a long walk after the distressing dream he'd had, hoping to calm down. He wasn't sure why... why he felt so low now. It wasn't as if he remembered anything more or less than he had when he'd fallen asleep... but he had the oddest feeling that while he'd been asleep, his lost memories had come knocking-- and then darted away faster than the demon could catch them.
Slipping through the woods, he paused when he saw a familiar figure moving away from the Nest. What was Atticus doing here...?

"....Really?" Tsuzuki asked, rather rhetorically, looking quizzically at the shelf of books nearest his nose. "...He obviously wasn't very good at it then, ne?"
He heard the sound of a body travelling through the woods far before he caught a glimpse out of the corner of his eye. Well s**t.
Pretending not to have noticed at all, Atticus kept walking. Clearing, clearing--come on, where are you, damnit??

Hisoka snarled quietly. "You're so clueless sometimes!" he glared at the floor, more and more unhappy.
Unfortunately for Atticus, raven's woods were quite thick and clearings were few and far between. "May I help you... Atticus?" Asteil called out. He was supposed to be nice to Alphas and Betas, even if they weren't of the demon pack-- right? That's what he thought at least...

"Would you preferred that I had flirted back?" Tsuzuki asked curiously, leaning forward around the corner to finally get a look at the kitten. Curled up. Uh oh.
Atticus through him a curious glance, as if having only just spotted him. "We've met, haven't we? Asteil. Yes, I was rather hoping to find my way to the edge, actually," he admitted.

An inexplicable (well... perfectly understandable if you understand Hisoka) look of hurt came over the kitten's face as he curled up more.
"I'll lead you there if you want," Asteil smiled slightly at the Beta. "It's kind of hard to navigate through raven's forest if you don't know your way around."

"Hey--I didn't!" Tsuzuki protested, inching closer. Root of problem found. Now solve it, moron! "...Are you more mad at him or me?" he asked quietly.
Remembering the less-than-linear path Balin had led them on through the forest and also beginning to fall to the worse side of his impulses, Atticus smiled mischeviously and quirked a brow, "Are you offering your services as a guide, sweetheart? Because I'd be hard pressed to deny them."
