"Tori, would you mind taking me to veilstone? We've got to meet Chloe there." The bird pokemon nodded before taking hold of Julian and flying off.

"Wow," was the first thing Brayden said as he exited the caves and looked out at the path beyond. It was definitely white. He smiled faintly, looking at the snow covered route that led to Snowpoint.

He spotted Chloe and Lucrezia a moment later standing under a tree by the exit. Caliga trotted past him, still intrigued by the snow, as Bray came to join Chloe.

"Hey," he greeted, "I have to say, this is a pretty cool place," he laughed, before realizing the unintentional bad pun.

"Thanks again," Brayden smiled, "You're always a great partner to have on my side."

'But of course,' Ariadne laughed lightly, 'Someone has to make sure you don't get your butt handed to you at every match.'

Brayden allowed the little bit of ego for now. After all, it was quite true that without his team, he'd be in definite trouble.

Brayden stretched, recalling the sarcastic Gardevoir as he came up alongside Chloe. He was glad to be outside, even if it was a bit chilly. There was a faint flutter of wings, muffled by the snowfall, as a couple of Noctowl flew past, nearly silent on their soft wings.

Brayden spotted the white Lopunny beside Chloe, pausing for a moment. The coloration certainly was different, but he liked it. He wasn't a huge fan of that Pokemon, but he had to admit, the Lopunny alongside his friend looked cute.

"Hey," he greeted with a wave, "We made it finally," he laughed.

Now a Pokecenter sounded nice, especially the way Chloe described it, Bray had to admit, as he came up under the same tree Chloe was standing beneath as they waited for the others to catch up. Brayden was glad for his gloves for the first time in, well, probably forever. It kept his hands a bit warmer than they would have been without anything covering them.

It was when his thoughts were distracted by the tempting daydream of a cup of hot chocolate by a fireplace when Brayden let his guard down, temporarily. But, to the one keeping an eye on his movements, that was plenty enough. A shout from Ariadne in his mind was his only warning, before Brayden let out a groggy, "Crap..." before stumbling, vision doubling in on itself momentarily. Not that there was much to look at during this moment, but he was pretty sure that things weren't normal when the one tree by the exit to the cave turned into three, as a wave of disorientation swept through him, leaving him feeling horribly drained as it ebbed.

'Now's your chance,' now Brayden was quite used to mental voices thanks mostly to Ariadne and her comments from time to time. And although he was certainly no expert on the subject of mental communications (hell, he had the psychic ability of a thumb tack), that was not Ari's voice he heard just then.

((Sure thing. Good luck tracking down that board. Sounds like you've had a bit of trouble.

And no problem. I think I've been going through plot withdrawal as well. I'll vanish from the rp from time to time. I still check up on it, but I don't really post. Bad Fugue, I know...))

The dizziness fled after a moment, as Brayden tried to gather his wits about him once again, looking to Chloe, seeming both a bit dizzy and confused.

'Do it now!' Now this had Bray completely baffled. He had no clue what on earth it was that he was being ordered to do. He blinked, brow furrowing.

"What..." but then, his hand decided to fill him in on what it was he should be doing. And his body filled in the rest.

Bradeyn knocked Chloe's reassuring hand aside, rising. Still a bit confused. Yes, he was in control of his own body, but he couldn't really place why he had just done that.

'Attack,' came the simple order, one that had Brayden even more confused.

And even more scared as his hand extended on reflex before him, and his mouth chanted words that he didn't know, that he shouldn't have known.

Brayden was speaking in Harmonian.

His other hand reached for the buckler hooked onto his bag, bringing it before him as he closed his eyes. The motions were all his own, but he had no clue what he was doing or why. Or even how, he realized, as the buckler shone with an azure light that cast over the snow in front of him.

The Aqua Buckler called on the water around him in response to Brayden's words (not that he had any clue on what he was saying). And there was plenty of it, even though it was in a frozen state. The snow started to move, a bit sluggishly, as if half-asleep, but after a moment, it melted back into water, spiraling before Brayden, waiting his command.

Brayden himself was still confused. A deluge of emotions that he wasn't quite sure were his own were buffeting him. Pride, arrogance, and an unbridled rage topped the charts. None of these emotions running through him he could explain.

'NOW!'

Without knowing what he was doing, Brayden released the water spiraling agitatedly before him with a single word that he didn't know the meaning of. Although he guessed the gist of it a moment later when the water reared back, almost serpentine-like, before charging forward, striking Chloe with a blast of icy water.

Brayden released his control on the water, as it crashed back down to the snow, slowly starting to freeze back over again in a slick ice slush. The buckler still glowed, although fainter than before, as he watched Chloe get back to her feet.

Her question went unanswered. Mostly because Brayden really didn't know what had just happened himself. But as the Kingdra released his attack, his reflexes took over once again, following the same silent instructions as before.

Brayden called out Cye before him, the Feraligatr stretching slightly lazily, before a sharp order of "Heads up!" from Brayden had the alligator looking up, spotting the attack headed their way. Cye growled, rearing up on his hind legs as he took the blow, blocking it from the boy as he searched for the source.

He spotted and recognized Chloe and her dragon, a bit confused, but assuming that there was a reason for it. Perhaps a sparring match? The thought caused a grin. He had wondered how he would fare against a tough team like Chloe's.

"Use Superpower," Brayden instructed to the Feraligatr, who turned once more to his trainer before nodding. Was it just him or did Brayden's voice sound different somehow? Ah well, no matter.

Cye shook off the last pulses of dragon energy on him, the attack had stung, but it was nothing he couldn't handle. The Feraligatr charged, slamming into Daimon, snapping his jaws at the dragon as he flung the two backwards, crashing down on top of the Kingdra belly-flop style, the two grinding into the layer of snow that coated the ground outside the cavern exit. Cye leaped off of Daimon, coming back round full circle, to stand in front of Brayden once more, prepared to continue.
