From a blur of the wind, Baku appeared before the pale being. "So you actually showed. It seems even those snakes which hide deep in their holes can not resist when their pride is called into question." He sneered at him. "Tell me before we begin, what kind of fail-safe have you prepared for yourself in case this turns sour for you?"

"Only the fail safes I'm sure you have yourself I'm sure." Orochimaru hissed. Seeing the other ninja now actually did help to quell some of the rage he felt. "Now tell me, why are you calling me out like this? From past experience with Akatsuki I don't remember them sending irritating notes to people, it used to be that they just killed them... or tried again and again and again."

"Well, Orochimaru, as annoying as you are, you would be valuable to our cost. Not as to rejoin, but the information you contain in that white cranium of yours. I seek that information for Akatsuki, and instead of trying to invade your village, I decided to do it the honorable way and fight you myself." He smirked darkly. "But in the off chance that you were to succeed, I will give you the secrets that we have obtained." He cracked the bones in his fingers. "So, do you wish to start this or do you wish to slither back inside your hole and hide?"

"I find it strange that even you would have come alone to do such a thing and feel equally insulted by that." Orochimaru hissed with a mild grin. Opening his mouth a serpent came from the back of his throat and from its mouth the hilt of a sword. Effortlessly the White Serpent drew the legendary blade from it's sheath. "You're faith in your god leads to your confidence of knowing the boundaries between life and death." he hissed, pointing the Kusanagi at him. "And yet you face down a real immortal. I'm interested to see how your god will respond."

An audible laugh came from his throat, his hand latching onto the hilt of his blade and pulling it from its sheath. He pointed the tip of the Water Shed at just as he pointed the kusanagi at him. "A real immortal? Please. You are only immortal through your twisted experiments, nothing natural. I however require no such trickery to sustain my long life. You in fact have no idea how old I am. You are still a child when compared to me." He said beginning to circle Orochimaru like a hawk would overhead in the sky. The tip of his blade making a circle in the rock around them.

"Oh? So since I obtained immortality without the aid of your divine patron does that mean I have transcended into the realm of deities?" Orochimaru mused. He twisted his grip slightly and a gentle sound was heard as his Kusanagi cut through the air to stand parallel in the air. "I should think that if your immortality was absolute then it would be Hidan standing before me now and not his sad reflection."

Baku arched a brow. "You? A god? Hardly. For a god does not require the bodies of those who serve him in order to retain such immortality." Baku's lips curved in a twisted smirk. "No matter how much your underlings revere you as such." He let his neck roll around for a minute. "As for Hidan, he was foolish enough to let people get the better of him. And so he stood to stand the test of time within the pit of a hole. That was until, I ripped his soul from his body." Baku's crimson oculi locked onto the white serpent. "And so I merged our souls together. So to call me a reflection, would be a grave miscalculation. As I am Hidan, and Baku. Both of whom serve our great and wonderful master."

Kabuto watched the two from the side lines knowing that Orochimaru wouldn't need his assistance in battle he was just there for research and to keep anyone from interfering. Of course there was a price on his head set by Akatsuki as well for betraying Sasori of the red sand but he didn't think Baku would collect on that when Orochimaru was the much bigger prize. Kabuto remained hidden and studied Baku carefully.

"I disagree." Orochimaru said smirking and beginning to walk in a strafing maneuver "The gods require thousands of bodies in order to maintain their existence. Time and again they have legions of followers worship them unto death. I have become far more efficient in that area, requiring so few bodies." His long tongue slid out of his mouth and shifted over his lips. "And then you have my apologies, you are far better than a mere reflection."

Baku shrugged it off. "I see we will never come to an agreement. So in order to alleviate my boredom, I suggest we get down to business." He jumped a few feet away from them. "I will allow you to make the first move, Orochimaru."

Orochimaru spread his arms and nodded his head in a bow. "Of course Baku-Kun. That is very courteous of you. I'm glad that someone within the organization has manners." Not waiting for an answer he launched foreward, swinging his Kusanagi down in a high arc aimed at Baku's left shoulder.

"Straight on, eh?" He chuckled darkly and quickly parried the force of the blade with an upward slash of his own.Using the force from the clashing metal, Baku swung one leg around Orochimaru's head. Not to attack, but to move as he pushed his foot off the nape of his neck and spun away. "Melee?" He asked.

"Mmm... Yes..." Orochimaru said with a smile and cracking his neck, he had not meant for that to happen but had been well prepared for it. "I find that it prolongs the fun. When I use my jutsu things tend to be over to soon."

"I guess neither of us wish for this to end quickly, or fatally for that matter." Baku however put his blade away, back in the sheath along his side. "Then how about I start the real fun?" He asked while performing hand signs and jumping up to the statue of Shodaime Hokage. Instantly, the statue and water began to frost over, the air temperature dropping rapidly. It also began to snow. "Rei Retsu Fuudo."

"Well I suppose we could do such things." Orochimaru said stabbing his blade into the ground. Cold... now that was an interesting technique. In itself it wasn't that useful, a change in temperature only got you so far. But then also it was better to not risk it. He made the swift handsigns needed. "Kokuangyou no Jutsu".
The falling snow seemed to become completely eclipsed within a world of darkness.
