Alexis wanders around Aiden's Cabin, in hopes to find something that could make her 'know' him better. She rummages through a few piles of things, most of them being maps. "Maps.... So many bloody maps..." she says softly, she looks around some more, this time finding scrolls written in a text that somehow seemed familiar, but she couldn't read them if she tried.

"More useless garbage," she sighs. Her little search wasn't going too well and the frustration was starting to show on her face. She grumbles softly, "I'm wasting my time, I know it," she says as she looks through a rather large stack of papers until she notices that a lot of the writings on them were sonnets. "So the big bad Captain has a soft side," she says while laughing softly as she reads a few of the sonnets.

She reads about seven sonnets before putting them back in the pile, making sure to keep them in the same order. She walks around some more, thinking about Aiden, and what she was going to do with the recent knowledge of Aiden's soft side, and the sonnets. She laughed softly once more before sitting down and waiting for Aiden's return.

Mariko hears something.

The rum makes her woozy, she doesn't notice that stillness of the Sturgeon.

Her broken wrist suddenly felt warm, as if there were a source of heat in the cracks and punctured vessels. Rather than pain, she felt like there was something persistantly rubbing against the site of the fracture, like a cat or one of the stray dogs among the streets of le Pari...

"I'd like a dog," she found herself mumbling aloud. Her eyes could not focus on Penelope, but she spoke anyways to her. "I'd like a dog... They dun run away like daddy did.... And they don't die...." That last part wasn't true. She remembered her childhood running amok, skinning the dead strays and patching their fur into an oversize blanket. But none of those had faces. "Dog," in the matter of perception, was friendly, furry, and wagging and never still. She could not associate them with the rotting corpses that lined the streets of Underworld Pari.

"Dya think Cap'n would let meh have a dog? Just a big dog... I could train 'im..."

The captain thought little of the gesture in which Annabelle ate. In fact, he was surprised she did not finish the food before he left again because of the time he had left her without food. In fact, he began worrying about the rest of his crew. The sun was slowly becoming darker and soon he would need to prepare something. Having not had such a large crew for quite some time, the man was worried about how difficult it would be to prepare meals for everyone. He would need to gather a few helpers to aid him in the kitchen until they were able to find a permanent cook.

After he had finished setting down the crate, the dragon-kin found himself looking down towards Annabelle in a confused manner. "Not as important as the well being of the ship?" The man laughed lightly and then looked down to see that the woman was actually being serious. "How could that be so? Are you not a member of my ship? The wellbeing of everyone is equally spread, Annabelle. I do not favor those above deck because of where they are."

As the woman changed the direction of their conversation, Aiden glanced up towards the doorway. Returning his gaze to Annabelle, he furrowed his brow, "I apologise lass, but I need to speak with a few others above deck. I've left you with multiple pieces of parchment as well as a feathered quill and a latern. I hope they can keep you busy for awhile. I shall return later tonight with a better portion of supper as well as a pallet for you to rest." The man got up and began towards the door, waiting for a "goodbye" before he left.

Annabelle listened intently to the Captain as he spoke, following his words carefully. She felt her cheeks color lightly as he said she was just as important as everyone else, and smiled at that knowledge. It made her feel special- something she really hadn't felt since Jonathan Graves. No- She musn't think of him. Not now. As Jonathan Graves graced her mind, Annabelle's face became very grave itself. Her eyes began to well up with tears. Quickly, she forced them back, and planted a smile on her face. Hastily returning her gaze back to McCallahan, Annabelle nodded. "Okay. I will be waiting here."

With another light smile, the fiery haired woman glanced at the pen and parchment, then back to McCallahan. "Thank you, Sir." With a light sigh, she leaned back against the wall. "Goodbye."

Eventually having finished buying all the things she thought that the crew would be needing (she knew what kinds of foods a ship could use, and she planned on making a special something for dinner---which had come out of her own purse). The woman was apparantly stronger than she looked, since she was toting around a considerable amount of rations for the crew (though she had gotten a random boy to help her carry some of the things), and now stood in front of the Auarius, unable to see a blasted thing. So, taking a large, deep breath (and nearly dropping the items in the process, shouting out so that hopefully someone would hear her and be able to aid her.

"OI!! IS ANYONE UP THERE?!"

Penelope sighed softly, and glanced up from her sterile knife to Mariko, who was lying on the table completely smash-drunk. Letting a soft chuckle escape her pink lips, Penelope looked down upon Mariko and rested a hand on her shoulder. "I'm going to begin the procedure now. Please... Do not be frightened by what I am going to do. Promise me that?" Without pausing for an answer, Penelope circled around the table to the side where she needed to cut the wounded wrist.

She lifted the knife, and made an vertical insicion about two inches long along the bruise. For a brief moment, Penelope averted her eyes to Caden, her young helper. "Make sure she doesn't move, please?" She asked him gently, then returning her gaze to the insicion she made. With the knife in hand, she gently seperated the skin, enough to reveal the muscle. She took her knife to the muscle, and cut a little bit deeper. Deep enough to see the broken bone. Delicately, Penelope put her finger to the bone. "Hmm... You're lucky, Mariko. The fracture will be easily fixed." With a light smile, Penelope quickly applied pressure to the fracture, and snapped the bone back into place. Once she was finished, she took out the knife and grabbed a cloth. She wiped her hands off, and put the cloth to the side.

"Alright! The worst is over, Mariko. Now I just have to stitch your wound shut. This won't hurt very much. Just close your eyes and think of rum."

Mariko looked up, her eyes oddly clear for her being sudden, as Penelope put it, smash-drunk.

"Your hands ere hot, zee knife ees 'awt," she complained mildly, more of the need to say something than to actually voice her pains. Strangely, the street-urchin accent had given away to a smooth, fluent FRENCH one. "Eet feels like 'ere's a chat; yes, some soirt ov hell-chat zat's brushing against moi." She paused for consideration, staying perfectly still but watching the surgery in progress. She yelped as the muscle slid apart from the knife, revealing the site of the clean fracture. "Eet's cold," she cried. "Eet's cold! Eet's freezing! 'Zere's air; eet feels like air's blowing eento me!"

Tracey looked over the railing of the ship at the hail. He saw Victoria with a lot of rations. Yelling out, his voice loud and clear, "HOLD ON, I'LL GET HELP." By help he meant rope, a solution to all problems, well most of them.

Taking what was on deck, he made a quick net, something that was difficult without the proper tools but do able nonetheless. When he was happy with its sturdiness, he threw over bored, a strong rope connecting him to it. "PUT THE RATIONS ON THE NET, I'LL PULL THEM UP." Given how much he was already hurting form his underused muscles, he wasn't willing to try and get down there himself unless he had to.

Aiden had noticed the slight flow of tears and turned quickly away from the beautiful woman. He felt his heart leap within his chest at the idea of possibly upsetting her. Silently, he hoped it was not his own departure that had brought on such feelings. Inching towards the door, the man set his feelings aside. McCallahan had shown too great a weakness for the woman aboard his ship already. In certain situations, it would likely be wise to ignore his petty feelings. There certainly should not have been so many women crying aboard his ship; it was not pirate-like. Aiden shook his head at the thought. Pirate or not, they were still women.

Glad to hear Annabelle excused him, the captain quickly excited, leaving his faint worries at the door. Making his way up the stairs, the sound of a familiar voice caught his ear. Judging by the sound, the captain could tell it was not coming aboard his ship. Had someone fallen overboard? Quickening his speed to the top of the ship, the man peered over, pleased to see the words were only coming from Victoria, and though he had not given the order, she took it upon herself to gather supplies.

No sooner had Victoria yelled for assitance had Tracey responded, yelling just as loudly. With his pointed, sensitive ears, the large man winced and looked towards his highest ranked officer. He ignored the loudness of his own crew and watched as Tracey constructed a net to gather the items. Extended his wings, the man watched the two. Once Tracey had gathered a good amount, the captain swooped down onto the land and gathered a great heap of items into his two arms. Holding onto them tightly, he returned to the top deck and set them aboard carefully. "Plannin' on cookin' the crew something delicious, Victoria?" The man could not hide his clear excitement of the idea of someone, other than himself, cooking. Aiden was a much better captain than he was a cook.

Having relaxed slightly since the awkward situation above deck, Nicolas kept his arms folded and continued to stare towards his fellow crew mates. For only a moment did the elf doubt that this ship would be any better than the Dementia. Though the crew is foolish, he thought to himself, they are certainly more respected and that respect is what shall keep me here.. The elf smirked and glanced towards Jamie Gallows longingly. It would certainly be a pleasure to choose a cabin or two for them both and become situated. The man's grin widened.

Before his mind wandered farther than it already had, the voice of another man approached the two. Turning his gaze, Nicolas stared into the eyes of a tall, burly human. Upon mentioning of his woman, the elf stared confused towards both Jamie and the stranger. How would the ferocious tempered gypsy respond to such a comment as that? Though Nicolas was rude with many and snide with most, he kept only his best natured comments for his partner. In the presense of the other man, however, the elf had a difficult time speaking. Would it be foolish to stand up for someone who had become so much to him within the past years? Nicolas certainly found himself in a dillemna. The second comment of kind seemed to snap any doubt from the elf's mind. Narrowing his eyes and unfolding his arms, the man spoke bitterly, "I do not believe it is your place to determine whom is fit for whom." The elf could not bring himself to answer the other question Luther directed towards them.

Victoria had indeed put the items in the makeshift net, and then, took the ones from the boy---the ones that would be of her special meal tonight. Calling up, Victoria smiled at Tracey, "Thank you!" her voice not as loud as it had been. Then, the captain had swooped down, and she had let out a startled yell, making her jump and fall on her butt. Some of the items fell out of her grasp (thankfully they were all wrapped) and she quickly went about retrieving them before moving back on the ship, having quite the hard time getting up with the things in her arms.

When she did, she heard Aiden speak to her, nodding with a broad grin. "To celebrate the Auarius. As well as the new crew. But no one is going to know what they're getting until supper." He looked so much like a kid being told he was getting sweets at the store, she let out another laugh, unable to contain it. Turning to go put her items in the kitchen so she could get to work, she paused, moving to the dragon kin and standing on her tip toes so she could at least get near his ear.

"Captain...I have been given a message to give to that girl below..." she whispered, frowning, "If you'd like, I can give the message to you if you'd rather me not go back down."

Tracey finished helping to put away the items. On his way back on deck he looked in on Tia. He couldn't stay long, at least until he had a chance to speak to Victoria.

It was severely irritated with Luther, the man could not follow suggestions. Instead of saying anything to him, he remembered the offence and would take steps to ensure he learns to follow what is told to him. In battle, they could all be dead because of any one crew member. That type of risk was not something that should be allowed.

Aiden was more than pleased with Victoria's response. It seemed like wonderful news to hear that the crew would be served something special made from the woman. Maybe, if she wished, she could become the ships cook? Aiden laughed lightly. Through his short relationship he had with Victoria, he already knew she was bound for higher things than the position of ships cook. He hoped while she was deckhand, she might consider the position, especially if her cooking proved to be as delicious as the salivating man was imagining.

Raising his head up with a grin and quickly cupping a large hand over his mouth, the captain bellowed for the entire ship, "There shall be the first festival aboard the Aurarius tonight! Celebration and thanks for the new crew! Hearty meals, rum and music shall be available above deck!" The man could not contain an excited expression from his face with his announcement. Hearing a slight whisper in his ear caused the man to bow down to better hear. Victoria apparently had a message for Annabelle, but from whom the man was uncertain if he might ask. Looking to Victoria, Aiden spoke in a low voice, "I would prefer if you might retell the message to me, as intruding as that may seem."

Luther could see that he had struck a nerve with the elf man, the woman he was having trouble reading though. She seemed like the kind of woman that would speak out to a man, the kind he was not that fond of as women had thier place. "I meant no disrespect if that is what you mean." said Luther to the elfs bitter remark. "I only figured that you would prefer a woman of your own kind. But whatever you want is fine. I am not one to judge." Luther bowed to the man in appology. "There is no quarrel here. But if you see it in your nature to defend you woman's honor," Luther nodded towards the girl, "then please, I would be more than happy to meat you in a duel. For the sport, or honor I suppose." Luther looked the elf man over again. He seemed liber enough, this could be an interesting little duel, if he were up to the challenge. If not him, the woman seemed able, though he would not fight a woman. Nothing to be gained.

A familiar figure quickly climbed up the rope and peeked his head over the railings of the ship. Samuel viewed the deck before hopping aboard not excited looking like he had been before though.
He crossed the deck and went into Victoria's view to let her know he was there. He messed with his hat abit and looked about wondering where Tia was. Was her injury really that bad to keep her below deck this long? He felt like sneaking off so he could talk to her, but figured he would stay put.
