Maki opened her eyes and looked up at Shinja. Her fever starting to grow as she reached up and hugged his neck.
"Why didn't you tell me?" she said looking into his eyes. "We could have fought this thing together along time ago."
Maki grabbed her side which has started to swell.
"Now I'm afraid it's a bit late," she moaned slowly lifting her shirt to look at the wound which just turned a dark black and instead of claw marks from darktail it's a giant spot that covered her entire belly now. "When the vines grabbed me...they took something from me."
Maki then noticed Kyana and quickly pulled her shirt down in embarrassment.
"Hi Kyana, how have you been? Seen Katrea yet?" she asked forcing a smile even though she was in pain.

Fira glanced up at the group from over her shoulder as they had arrive. Yet when Shinja rushed to Maki's side she stood up and walked out of the way, knowing well that they had more of a chance helping her with her fever. For a moment she looked down at spot covering Maki's belly, with a strange yet sad look.
After Fira looked back up at Kyana and Zetsuei with her head tilted. Her hands cupped over the top of her cane before she asked, "Who's, Kyana?"

"Well shinja arent you the lucky one today thats two people that have lifted there tops when youve seen them must be a smoothtalker. And no maki I have not seen Katrea and I have no idea where he even went after the fight I was hoping some of you knew."
Kyana looked at the swelling that was evident through makis top and the colour could almost be seen.
"Its pretty bad she needs help soon. Maki what happened to sai. I think we can create a healing incantation betweenZetsuei and myself that will block the dark energies for a time which will halt the spreading and suppress it for a short time so that you may head out in search of the temple of the phoenixas the residual energies may help as it was phoenix that cured my infection. Alas phoenix is no longer physichally bonded to this world."
Kyana then looked at the other woman with them with the cane.
"Fira I assume? I have been told of you by shinja. I am merely a traveling mage in search of a close freind."

Maki blushed turning away from Kyana again and let go of Shinja to lay back down on the sand.
"Sai said he didn't know what this was ... said a quest maybe just the thing we need," she said but then remembered what the voice said then looked at Shinja knowing he would understand. "It's already too late. I'm merely just its resource now. The darkness was reborn when the vines took most of the energies and now I'm just a factory for the black blood it needs now."
Rubbing her side to calm the pain she closed her eyes.
"Everytime I passed out a voice kept taunting me and while I was unconscious the dark blood kept seeping out and dropping to the ground to find a new body ... it found a temporary host in the vines beneath the willow tree. The same one that caught fire," she said as she began stirring her fingers into the soft white sand. "At the hospital the vines pulled me into the earth and as I was pulled they fed off me and since then I kept hearing the cries of an infant. It showed me a boy sleeping inside a pod deep under the hospital that had similar features to my own. Then said it was reborn yet still apart of me .... I'm assuming my blood. While in the hospital someone else took my blood. Although I was unconscious the darkness was focused on a young doctor with a syringe and was angry that he stabbed me in the back and took my blood. For what purpose I do not know ... that's what I needed to tell you Shinja."
Maki looked back at Shinja, then frowned before turning to Kyana.
"Have you tried his homeland? I believe he may have gone back there to think," she said as her head began spinning and she fell into the sand unconscious.

"Oh ok, well if you've already heard about me then I really don't know what much more I could say about myself other than Phoenix. However, I can also say that it's nice to meet you." Fira said with a slight nod towards Kyana, before looking down at Maki. It was stange but her eyes shied away from Maki and Shinja and looked at the sand on the ground as soon as Maki spoke of the man who stabbed her in the back. Fira knew who exactly who the man was who took Maki's blood and she was affaid that it was somehow unententionally her fault.

Suddenly there ahead there is a body lying on the floor, Kisaragi ran up to it.
"...Hmm, a human...and it has white fir over him..."
Looking ove to the left he finds a white body with missing patches of hair.
"...Navis! Are you ok?..."
Navis replies "....Nee eed wat ter..."
Kisaragi instantly creates a rain clud above Navis and she comes too.
Navis says "...It's nice to see you again brother..."

Before responding to everyone, Shinja managed to quickly shoot Zetsuei a look of disappointment.
I didn't want her worrying about me, Zetsuei...
Sighing, Shinja rested his hand on Maki's unconscious forehead. "I know what this is...Why it's taken me so long to figure it out, I do not know, but now it's all clear to me..."
Taking a large shot from his liquor bottle, Shinja stared at Maki, despite her unconsciousness.
"The Orb is saturating within our bodies. Once it takes over completely, not only will it kill Maki and I, but it will be reborn -- the Orb will return to existance."
Suddenly, Shinja slammed his fist into the ground, creating a large dent in the sand. "Dammit...why didn't I see this before? I should've known...this is why Sett is after us. He wants the Orb's power." Without warning, Shinja lifted Maki up and carried her with both arms. "We have to leave now, Zetsuei. Kyana, we will look for Sir Katrea as hard as possible on our way to this phoenix character...I promise you."
Besides, with Maki and I dead, you'll all need one more friend with you...
Though his sunglasses and large collar hid quite a bit of his face, Shinja had a look of pure gloom on his face. His usual mood -- calm, collected, and mostly optimistic -- had obviously been broken. Now, he was high-strung and cynical about the outcome of this "quest". Still hiding his feelings, he began to speedily walk back to the airship, almost ignoring the presence of the others, but still expecting them to follow.

Kyana was getting annoyed by peoples modds after all this time and the fighting they had endured during dark tails reign of terror they would give up now, now that he was gone. Kyana was unsure of wether she beleived shinjas theory of the orbs rebirth but she kept it to herself.
"Shinja how can you say such a thing you are just giving in to the orbs residual energies, If you do not fight with all your might you will die but if you do fight you can beat it If not for yourself do it for Maki"
Kyana had hoped this would get through to him but she was not certain it would.
"And that phoenix guy is the phoenix you need to find its temple you may find help therebut I cannot tell you were it lies only a select few know thatand I am not one of them"

Walking over to Kyana, Zetsuei bowed infront of her
"It was nice meeting you Kyana, I will protect both of them with my life. Its not like I havent died before."
He wasnt sure if his joke would be caught onto since he normally didnt joke around.
" Ill try to find the temple of the phoenix that you speak of. Ill watch over them and look for Katrea"

Fira looked up and watched as Shinja left with Maki passed out in his arms. She heard that they were leaving, and hesitated for a moment wondering if she sould go or not. But she finally decided as she glanced back at Kyana and Zetsuei, then took off after Shinja, "Hey wait, where are we going next?"

"Ah ... I see your friend has caught on to my plot," the voice hissed in the darkness. "I wonder ... hehe ... yes...yes. That is the presense I sensed inside your mind as I spoke. He has the other part of my body in his veins. But it's not time to join your blood with his. I need to concentrate on my flesh now. Can you hear me Mother? Ah ha ha ha.... Mother ... hmmmm. How does it feel to have given birth to a new darkness?""SHUT UP! We kicked your butt once and we can do it again!" Maki shouted becoming annoyed with the voice and the sounds of an infant crying echoing in the darkness.
"Riiight! He he heh heee...... but he is right. When I am complete," the voice giggled. "You will die! A-HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!""NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" Maki screamed and curled up to cry. She knew he was partly right but she was going to fight it as long as she could.

Shinja quickly activated the door to the airship and gestured for the others to hurry. "Fira, I do not know where we are heading to next, but we must pray that Sir Katrea is there, wherever we may be heading." He then looked at Kyana and Zetsuei, who were still talking. "Zetsuei, hurry. Kyana, I still suggest that you come with us...there's a better chance of us finding the others with more than just us four, especially with Maki's current state..." He glanced at Maki's closed eyes and sighed.

There was a slight pause from Fira before she finally knodded, "Alright then, let's go." That was all she said before she boarded the ship. She figured it would be best to not ask anymore questions for now, for it would just cause stress with every one in a worried state.

Beneath the hospital the vines began pulsing as they grew and stretched beneath the ground towards the airship.
"Oh no you don't," growled the voice inside Maki's head. "Come back here with my mother! HA HA HA HA HA HA!""NOOOOOOO!!! SHINJA! ZETSUEI! RUN! FAST!!!!!" She screamed as the voice showed her what was going on. "LEAVE THEM ALONE!!!!" The vines stretched and grew as fast as it could til it barely reached the airship and emerged from the ground and surrounded Zetsuei and Kyana as it hissed.
"Let's see if your other friends have the dark blood too... hehe he har har har!"

Looking around he saw he was incased cage of vines. Pulling out his gund his pulled back all three hammers.
"GET MAKI OUT OF HERE NOW SHINJA...FIRA HELP THEM OUT"
He yelled as he tried to find a weak spot in the vines, as he looked over at Kyana
"This should be fun to deal with while they get out of here"
