Oryn Relkin9 Well, I do not know where you live, but the American Version says that it merely weakened him greatly, in an attempt to kill him. I might have missed the other one though, so I will look again when I have time. I dunno what version of the Nec's codex I have, but I quote from my copy, page 28, right under the "Final Betrayal" heading: "As the Nightbringer prepared to begin it's long slumber, the Deciever's final machinations unfolded. It had betrayed the whereabouts of the Nightbringer's tomb world to its enemies and an armada of alien vessels attempted to destroy the death god before it could escape into stasis. They were unsuccessful, but banished the Nightbringer's most potent weapon into the Immaterium, a realm that is anathema to the star-gods, thus preventing it from accumulating the vast amounts of the energy it required to survive its entombment." they got rid of something, we don't know what, but that something would of let him be at full power right now.

Actually, it sounds more like something akin unto the Golden Throne. Something to amass A great deal of food, as it were. It was not A weapon, at least to what I can deduce.

that seems logical since the nightbringer is (or was) pretty much the most powerful thing in the material realm. its not like he'd want something for destroying, because then he couldn't eat everybody. that and like i said before, its not as though he needs a weapon or anything.
heh, the eldar would be the ones to get the jump on him though...

Indeed they would. It was the last thing they did for the Ancient Ones, from what I remember. Anyways, back to the Crons.

so, if you had to pick, which C'tan would you perfer?
i myself have the nightbringer, but i think i'd almost rather have the deciever, since alot of the time i play my friends IG. i've always wondered how nice it might be if i just made everything in his army piss its pants from moral checks, not to mention the whole repositioning thing he lets you do. then again, the nightbringer is pretty potent in CC....
what do you think?

Well, it depends on your play style. For me, ti would have to be the Deceiver. Far more fun than that stupid little Nightbringer. Think about it, well actually, if you did that you would agree with me. Tell me why you like the Nightbringer first, alright?

Tell me why you like the Nightbringer first, alright? its not so much that i like the nightbringer more, just that i think he is more useful against armies with high leader ship, or just plain fearless. tyrnids for example - they'd be a pain for the deciever. the night bringer does pretty well against space marines for that reason too. personally though, i think i'd rather have the deciever. he just seems like he'd be more fun, like you said. and its not like he still isn't powerful; he is a C'tan....besides, if you want to get tricky, you could move him 6 inches, then assult 6 inches, then use misdirect. that means he'd be moveing up the battle field pretty quick. it seems like a giant game of leapfrog, haha.

Well, I've heard that GW plans to release the Dragon and the Outsider sometime. I also heard that there's a summer campaign planned that revolves around them waking up. And yes, the Dragon is quite likely the Machine God. Lemme quote the Codex here. Quote: I have seen the infernal machineries of the Dragon powered by the tired limbs of those which they are designed to consume, the exhausted husks that can work no more transmuted into brief flares of light. Hundreds of serried, fleshy forms, riddled with sockets and plugs, bleed their essence into the pulsing green heart of the Machine. Hm... Does that sound like the Adeptus Mechanicus? I think so. blaugh

Besides, when the Necrons attempt A suicide run into the Atmosphere of Mars, there can be little other reason.

Do the C'tan move 6" or 12"? Me and a friend were trying to figure this out during the last game we played. He said 6" and I agreed, cuase I was useing my eldar and didn't want that ******** moveing to fast, but for some reason I still thought he moved a foot. Can anyone clear this up for me?

its 6" incase the question still stands. Nothing says he can move twelve so thats how it is. He's not exactly on foot, as stated in the codex in the "immune to natural law" rule for C'tan. but he floats at a pretty slow pace.

Well, I'm a new 40k players, so I've come to you guys for your opinions. The army I chose to start the hobby with is Necrons seeing as how none of my friends play them, so I figured I'd be different.
Now, the question I have for everyone here is simple, what would some good army choices be for me when I'd like to compete with(And defeat) Tyrannids, Chaos Space Marines and Tau? No matter what I plan on taking the Nightbringer, if for no other reason than he suites my play style to perfection.
Not only does he have raw combat power and prowess, the fact that he ignores terrain and can slip through walls makes him great for flanking and causing a general mess. Other than that, I'm completely open to suggestions, so please, your opinions would be greatly appreciated.
