Grandpa Ducky Wow. I'm amazed at you knowledge of all things Armegeddon. Where do you get all of it? Um, mostly the Armageddon Codex published by Games Workshop in 2000. Also the official Armageddon website put up by Andy Chambers and a few other staff members. I can look up the actual address again later if you want, I found it by accident a long time ago when I was looking up things for Battlefleet Gothic. There are a couple of fan sights as well out there, but mostof them are battle reports and whatnot rather than the fluff and option rules I usually look for. Mostly I got the Armageddon book for the Speed Freak rules, as I try to get as much on Orks as possible. Wouldn't mind being crowned Warboss of this here thread either, but so many rival Nobs would pop up dez ugly 'eads an' try ta steal my crown it might no' be worf' it. I've always been more of a Painboss anyway.

I just picked it up last night at the Chicago Battle Bunker. That place was pretty cool (and a pain in the butt to find. Hint to anyone trying to find it, BUTTERNUT RD. Turns! I spent at least an hour wandering on the WRONG road trying to find it. It's hidden by a Mattres Giant store in a shopping mall.).

Which side does it center around, and I assume it details the Third War for Armageddon? What I'd like to find is some text related to the First War, when it was a Chaos Incursion Fleet and so much of the planet was turned to ash.

basically the 1st war was when Angron led a group of chaos to the planet there were massive battles and eventually Angron was banished by the sacrifice of a group of Grey Knights. After that all the guardsmen who were part of the fighting were rounded up and killed to stop any details of the war becoming known. Thats why Logan Grimnar doesn't approve of the Ministorums policies etc.

I had a question about the Orks. The warboss model, with the attack squig and gun, I was wondering if anyone new what type of gun he carries.

Lorpon I had a question about the Orks. The warboss model, with the attack squig and gun, I was wondering if anyone new what type of gun he carries. Technically speaking almost any gun any Ork uses can claim to be any standard or upgraded gun because no two Ork weapons are supposed to look a like and they take them to be kustomized by da Mek. But the gun is supposed to be a Combi-Shoota. Standard Shoota + Scortcha. But if you wanted to it'd be real easy to claim that any Nob Shoota has the More Dakka upgrade, or even the Shootier or Blasta upgrade. It's up to person paying the points cost. I always give my Warboss a different gun altogether, but it's standard practice among Ork players who use the model piece to declare it a More Dakk + Shootier Combi-Shoota/Scortcha. That way it's an 24" Assault 2, S5 AP6 gun that once per game can unleash a mighty S5 AP4 Flamer template for when you -really- need to hit what you are aiming at. Not as good as a Big Shoota in my opinion, but still quite a punch for the points cost.

I'm not that far into the book yet, only about six chapters, but it's been VERY good. So far they've had a Black Templar, a Warlord Titan pilot, and a Lightening pilot characters. You guessed right about the war it covers, it covers the Third Armegeddon War but has made a little mention of the First, which I would like to learn some more about too.

Lorpon Wow eek Thanks alot for the info! 3nodding Never a problem, I'm just trying to get the Ork thread a little recognition in this Marine and Tau dominated Guild. The fact that I've had a number of conversations with the Rulezboyz over the year about Orks doesn't hurt either. So ask your questions and I shall give you an answer.

I'm an ex-ork player because I gave mine to a friend. The reason I did it was because he's orkyer than me and he didn't have an army.
