When the green freak turned away to attack the other officer, Cathy seized her chance. She leaped forward and launched a circle kick at the base of the sword blade, hoping to knock it free of his grip.

The cop scrambled desperately to escape the flames, rolling on the ground to put out his burning uniform.

As the sword swung down at her, Cathy stepped closer and reached up to grab his wrist, pulling him into a perfect hip throw.

Iffn' you perform an attacking action in one post, and it is then reacted to, in this case his post of swinging the sword, and you moving and grabbing his wrist, then the initial post has already happened, whether it hit or not. Meaning he's already swung the sword by the time of his second post.
And, while on the topic, you aren't allowed to just say you grabbed someone. You can say you attempted to, and then leave it open for a reaction, but it's not instantly assumed.))

((kk, I should probably clear something up really quick. Weapon attacks are 5 LP---when blocked. If they're not blocked, then they're 10 LP. I'm assuming the grab move counts as a block, and Alloran's sword does indeed have +1 attack points as an item benefit. So if in the case of the block it is 6 LP, if it were unblocked it would be 11 LP. And if the throw is an attack, it can't qualify as a block as well. So you have to choose between throwing and losing more LP. But in general grabbing and throwing doesn't give much of a chance to respond, You can grab for a character in an attempt to throw, but he's got to have the ability to react. He'd asked me earlier about the grab, and I told him it would be applicable to just break free of it, so he still retains the ability to react to the move. But I've now gotten confused whether the action is an attack or if it's a block. If it's a block, I can permit a grabbing and release to move the attack out of the way, or with an intent to throw but letting the opposing person decide whether the throw is successful or not. If it's an attack, hmm, if it's an attack I suppose they can be thrown..but then again if they block the throw attempt with a power that could become a difficult transition, and I can't rightly say that they aren't allowed to block that throw with a power use. Blah, no matter how I work it it seems that the throw still has to be optional to retain full reactionary options. This is definatley a hard one to decide on. I'm trying to work this out fairly, but it's not that easy.))

The power-charged fist struck Cathy square in the side, breaking her grip on Shanra's wrist and sending her flying...and something inside her went 'Snap!' and everything changed...((figuratively speaking))
