Koichi looked at her and nodded his head, before turning to watch the deer as it strut off. "They come every now and then, and some of the younger ones like pulling harmful tricks on strangers... but they don't come too often," he explained. A bird chirped, swooshing down and above them, nearly hitting Koichi, before gliding across the waters crystaled surface, landing on the banks to their side.

Kana nodded slowly, indicating that she'd heard him though she didn't say anything in response. She really was pretty distracted as she searched the water for fish. She wanted to at least touch one before leaving, though she wasn't sure if that'd be possible. She inched a little more forward, eyes widening as she found herself teetering on the edge of the drop off. "Ah-!" she started, but was cut off as she suddenly fell forward, her head hitting the water and going under. She shut her eyes tightly, clinging panic stricken to Koichi's hand as she found herself sinking.

Koichi had turned to look over his shoulder as he heard her scream, but was suddenly brought under with her. It took him a moment to realize what had happened. After, he pulled Kaori to him, grabbing onto her waist before he started swimming back up towards the surface. He broke the surface of the water, allowing their heads to bob as he kept the two of them up. "Kitty?" he said to her, "Kitty, are you alright?" he continued; he wanted to see if she was a fine or not; if she wasn't, he'd need to get to the shore faster and give her mouth to mouth; if she was fine, he could just swim them to the shallow water and see if she still wanted to look for those fish or not.

When Kana had fallen under, her mouth had been open due to her screaming, and her in her alarm, she'd swallowed quite a bit. So as soon as her head broke to the surface again, she began choking horribly, spitting water out as fast as she could as her eyes remained shut tightly. One of her hands was trying to cover her mouth as she continued coughing, which kept her from answering, and other her was clinging to him fearfully.

Koichi bit his lip, swimming the two of them over to the shallow part, before he picked her up. He started towards the shore, carrying her, worried about what might have happened. Once they reached the gras, he gently placed her against it, kneeling in the water as he looked at her concerned. "Kitty?" he asked quietly, rubbing her back gently, trying to get more water out; he didnt want, after all, to be thumbing on her back.

Kana continued choking for a couple moments more, and then it gradually began quieting until she was able to take a much needed breath. She looked at him then, her eyes wide and full of fear. "Th-that was so sc-scary!" she cried suddenly, her tail curled around her waist and her ears flattened back against her head. She'd seriously thought for a moment she was going to drown, and it'd made her think of the last time she almost did. She shuddered, rubbing at her arms. Her hair was plastered to her face, water dripping everywhere, even her nose.

Koichi looked at her concerned before hugging her gently. "Come now, I wouldn't let you drown, you should know that," he said softly. "Although, you should be more careful, little miss. We wouldn't want that saying 'curiousity killed the cat' to be true, now would we?" he stated, arching an eyebrow. He put his hand on her head, smiling, though, as he gave an inward sigh, as though relieved she was fine.

Kana smiled sheepishly, rubbing at the back of her head. "Y-yeah..." she stammered quietly, looking back at the water. She just couldn't seem to have any luck in dealing with it. She wiped her face, smearing some of the water away, and then grabbed her tail to get some off of it as well. "I need to learn to swim," she mumbled distractedly.

"I'd teach you, but I suck at teaching. I think I'll leave it to Kaze, in a case like this," Koichi admited, getting out of the lake; the water started pouring from his sogging pants, before letting up slightly into just a few drips. "I'll let it airdry... no use in careing much," he shrugged, holding out a hand for her. "Come on.. I bet you want to get back after that. You can borrow my shirt for now, if you'd like," he said simply, not much expression on his face.

Kana nodded obediently and stood as she accepted his hand again. "I'm fine," she nodded, refusing the shirt offer. Her mind went to work picturing Kaze trying to teach her to swim. He yelled a lot, and she would probably really frustrate him with her horrible attempts at swimming. She'd just proven she sunk like a rock. Her ears drooped slightly as she switched her thoughts to those of the past few minutes. Her face flushed red suddenly as she realized she really had liked it when Koichi had hugged her then, however briefly it was. She quickly turned away, knowing it'd probably look like she was blushing for no reason at all.

Koichi stopped, realizing she probably hated Kaze. He turned around, coming close to her while she was turned and not paying attention. He made their faces come close, bearly any space between them as he looked at her calmly. "Orrrr," he started, smirking to himself, "would you rather me teach you swimming?" He hesitated for a moment before standing back up and chuckling before starting back off towards their belongings. "It's your choice, Kitty."

Kana froze, eyes opening wide as she suddenly realized his face had appeared right in hers. This caused hers to flush even darker, despite her trying not to let it. But she stared at him, still watching as he moved away. She paused for a moment and then opened her mouth to reply. "I-I would rather have you," she stammered. "But if you don't want to, it's fine." She would like to surprise Kaze when he threatened to make her swim, but if Koichi really didn't want to teach her, she would drop the idea entirely.

Koichi smiled, looking over his shoulder. "Anything for you, Kitty," he said softly. "I'm not going to take back my offer of teaching you to swim, so you're safe from Kaze," he said simply as he bent down to pick up their belongings, keeping balance by placing a hand against the brown, wilting bark of the tree. He removed the locket from his shoe before letting it dangle from his fingers, making sure its chain was surrounding it before holding it out to her. "I believe," he started, "that this beautiful trinkit is yours," he smiled, pretending he'd been a stranger wondering by and happened to find it.

Kana watched him, smiling in relief. "Ah, thank you..." she said softly, her ears perking happily again. Her face was still lightly red, but she was trying to ignore it. She watched as he picked up his things, blinking as he offered the locket to her. She grinned, and bowed her head as she carefully accepted it. "Yes, thank you very much," she said again, laughing quietly.

"Now, shall we be heading back?" Koichi questioned, holding out his hand to bring her close to him again, for the better convinience of the trip they were to embark on. "Unless, of course, you want to get slightly hurt on our travels," he grinned; he doubted she'd want that. "Oh," he added, suddenly remembering why they'd even come, "are you feeling any better?" So many questions, and he hoped she wouldnt' become suddenly overwhelmed.
