Vargus smiled and patted Dame on the head before moving back to the group. Alysse moved back too.

Ryudo soon spoke up.

You all fought very well. Even you Boy. Now, we're just a short distance away from the city, let us head there immediately.

Damrius huffed.

If only you knew that I had made a pact with the Elemental Plane of lightning!!! At least I was able to beat Volt!!!

Dame Screamed at Ryudo in his head. Pointless, and realized how childish it was. Meh.

"Alright, but you may want to let her fini- oh."

Angelous was standing beside Silver, having already mostly stripped the reptillion to its skeleton. She gave him a certain look, making it clear that she was still hungry. That glint in her eye was on par to those predetors before a hunt.

"Err... stop looking at me like that."

Ryudo was not amused.

Keep your pet under control, and if she is still hungry, pack her something for the road. In the meantime, we're quite close to our destination, and I'd very much enjoy it if we were to get there before this afternoon...

That said, Ryudo began walking down the road, kicking the body of one of the dinos out of his way as he did so.

Damrius sighed and then followed. He had to agree. He kept close to vargus though. Didn't know why...

Silver's eyes flashed dangerously towards Ryudo, threatening to burn a hole through his clothing with his gaze.

She is NOT a pet.

However, he didn't utter a word, and instead started out and followed in suit.

*Time passed, and soon, the party arrived at the city, overlooking its grace from a small hill. After a moment of wonderment, Ryudo began to walk down the road to the city, eager to put an end to this trek.

The City of Elders, with its beatuiful marble walls and decorative buildings, it wasn't hard to see why the Angarians have made this their capital city. As much as the golden sidings were a bit over a top, it was a welcome addition to the natural beauty of the city. Even the roads were magnificent, being pain stakenly put in white stone by white stone.

"Well, it looks like we finally made it."

Silver payed no attention to the many glances and stares the recieved; it didn't even phaze him. He had been in many staged fights and tournaments, not to mention on payperview during the world famous Heaven or Hell tournament.

Damrius let out a small sigh of releif, and moved a little closer into the group. He watched everyone near him, as if trying to scan them from the way they looked, but he was unsuccessful. Too many. He then spoke to Vargus.

Are we going to get a room at an inn, or are we going to the council first? It's only mid day, so I would htink the council might be good... but I don't know what you guys had planned.
PostPosted: Thu Jul 20, 2006 12:58 am

I think we're heading to the council chambers. Knowing Ryudo, he wants to get thet over and done with first. I don't blame him. I really want to see Ryugi again...I hope he's alright.

Vargus kept walking after Ryudo, who continued to move straight downt he middle of the street towards the massive building at the end of the town, the Hall of Elders. Occupants of the city bustled around the party going about their daily routines. And Ryudo made his way through them as if they weren't even there, easily slipping by them on his way to the chambers.

Dame smirked.

Yeah. I got something I wanna show him too...

He held his hand up, palm facing him, and sent a small bolt, nothing dangerous, bouncing from fingertip to fingertip on his right hand.

Ryudo continued to make his way up to the massive building. The white sides of the building seemed to glow slightly with the rays from the sun, and the brilliant blue banner swayed gently in the morning breeze as Ryudo approached. As he drew nearer, one would see four members of the Ceremonial Guard standing watch over the massive stairs leading to the entrance of the building. On either side of the stairs were massive stone cubes, and on each of them, stood a white marble statue of a dragon holding a banner in its mouth, etched with the Adamant's Claw, the symbol of Angara. The building itself was lovely and lined with green plants along the walk behind the perrimeter fence.

The massive stairs were lined with two walls leading up to a middle area of flat ground, where a massive and elegant fountain of white marble sat. In the middle were twin dragons holding up the lowest bowl in their claws. Above that, two more dragons held up the second bowl where a dragon head, mouth agape, had water flowing from it and down into the fountain. Children played around the fountain, laughing happily as they enjoyed the sun and the cool water. Around the markings were brilliant blue tiles that formed the image of a dragon flying through the sky. Off to the side were four more cubes with statues on them, the wall passing through the middle of them. And at each one, a member of the guard stood holding a spear, each spear also doubling as a banner holder carying the Angaran Crest on it.

While Ryudo had said that civilians weren't allowed into council sessions, he neglected to mention that people were allowed to gather on the steps outside of the building. Ryudo quickly passed where the fountain was, and continued to make his way up the staircase to the third and final level of the walkway. On this level sat the doors to the inside of the Hall of Elders. There were two guards near the steps at the top of the staircase, each holding the banner emblazoned spears, and two guards near the door itself, their spears held tightly as they watched for any sign of trouble. As the group made thier way up the last level of the staircase, Mateus and Alysse moved up to either side of Ryudo as the guards moved foreward towards them.

"Please state your business at the Chambers."

Mateus pulled out a badge of sorts and held it up for the guards to see. Alysse moved up next to him, who was soon followed by Vargus, who crept around to the side so she was in view, but not totally up front.

I am Mateus the Earthen Heart, Rank Eighteen, Enlistment Number 39473. I am here as part of an official assignment relating to the Kazamaru Case. These people have information that may prove invaluable to the case or Mr. Kazamaru. My associate is Alysse Frostbayne, Rank Fifteen, Enlistment Number 25781. She has been assigned to assist me in completeing my mission to solve the Kazamaru Case.

The guard took hold of the badge and looked it over with a careful scrutiny to check for its authenticity. After a minute or so, he handed it back to Mateus and took up a stange of attention.

"Sir, while your credentials check out alright, I'm afraid I can't let you in. I have orders to prevent anyone from entering the council meeting... You know the rules...um...Sir."

Alysse stepped foreward. She looked a little angry, and noticed the guard's nervousness in denying a superior officer. She noticed that this particular guard was a Rank Five. Still a trainee by her standards, and she made sure to get her word in as well.

I am sure the Council would be pleased to hear about your resolve to complete your duties, however, we have reason to believe that the Continent itself may be at stake if this case is not solved. Also, this visit comes as a direct request from Lady Vargus Kobayashi herself. I do not believe Council Elder Argus would be pleased to hear that you denied his own daughter access to these proceedings, involving the very man that saved her life no less!

Alysse's icy cold stare seemed to drill into the young guard. Even his companion off to the right looked a bit nervous and gulped as she spoke. The guard looked over to where Vargus was standing, and quickly dropped to his knee in a respectful bow.

"L-lady Kobayashi!! M-my appologies for not recognizing you! Please, I beg your forgiveness! Please don't tell Council Elder Argus about this! He'll have my career on a platter!"

Vargus sighed. Sure, she was a Council Member's Daughter, but she had never gotten used to being treated as one. She'd always felt nervous about it. Infact, that was a part of why she'd been sent to grow up in Presea in the first place. She disliked all of the formalities, and so, her father had allowed her to live there under close watch by members of the Ceremonial Guard. However, even though she disliked the formalities, she was a pretty damn good actor when she needed to play the part...

You may rise Guardsman. I take no offense to your actions. And I commend you for your resolve where your duties are concerned. However, I must speak to my father and the Council on these matters. So, I appologize, but you will have to let me and my companions through.

The guard stood back up to his feet and moved into a shakey salute.

"Y-yes Ma'am!"

He turned to the two guards near the door and spoke again.

"Let these people through! They've got clearance!"

The guards at the door looked at eachother, a little confused, but soon moved asside and opened the massive doors leading to the Hall of Elders. Vargus thanked the guard, and with her leading the way, the whole group would slowly move inside the massive building, and towards the Council Chambers.

Damrius watched as the guard kneeled, then stood up, and barely listened to the conversations. The marble had caught his attentnion. It glistenend in the sun. IT was too bright for his tastes. Nowhere to hide if needbe on it.

He followed, sticking close to the end of the group this time.

Silver could barely contain his excitment as he entered the Hall of Elders. Even though the rest may just see it as a place of great beauy, it meant much, much more to Moonblade. It was almost like a dream; he was granted access to a place scarce members of his order have been to in hundreds of years. In fact, the last Dragon Knight who even made it to Angara was Sir Aaron. He knew it for a fact, for he had met the man personally.

In fact, it was because of him that he was such a firm believer in the Order's law and Bahamutarian Faith. Not that he was religious or anything.

By the stars, this place is even more wonderous than he could have possibly discribed it.

He bowed respectfully to the gaurds as he entered the magnificent halls, truly appreciating the importance of Vargus, Mateus, and Alysse for the first time. If it weren't for her, he wouldn't be here. Then he remembered, if it weren't for Ryugi's imprisonment, he wouldn't be here either. That killed the excitment almost immediatly.

He resolved to focus on the situation at hand first and formost.

Madison eyes widened as she looked about. Lightly, she gazed over to her companions. She noticed that Silver seemed rather exicted, even for him and Dame seemed to to wince alittle at the brightness but not by much.

After a few secounds, she ran up to catch up with the group for she was falling behind do to her attention spand. But she soon was caught up and walking quietly behind the group.
