Mari gave him a disappointed look and the kids stopped laughing. Byte even looked a bit upset. "Now, Matt... They were just joking. They know you treat me well. Don't get huffy about it."

Tech and Byte could understand the change in atmosphere and got up. As they started the leave the room they mumbled their appologies. "Sorry..." "Sorry, Smash..." With that, they went upstairs to their room. Mari just sighed and stayed in her spot on the couch and looked over at him, not saying anything.

Mari just kicked her legs up and layed down on the couch. "I know you didn't, but they didn't know that. That's why I got upset."

Mari sat up and wrapped her legs around him, making it look like he could just get up and carry her off on his back, and massaged his shoulders in a rough, but a good way. "Tell me about what's stressing you. It will make you feel better."

i have so much on my plate. there's that war for one. and this scar that make me into a monster. the town hates me again. and i still haven't figured out why i have that keyblade. i mean why me? and why would i want something that could kill tech and byte so easily?

She just kept rubbing his shoulders and even moving inward a bit to rub the back of his neck. "I don't know why you have the keyblade. I do know that what you do with it is your personal choice. You use it against who you view as a threat."
