Sun Sign: Leo
Birthstone: Peridot
Birth Number: 6
Geographical Location: I was born in Arizona, central (meaning lots of chapparal desert) and moved to San Diego where I live a block away from the beach. My favorite weather would be monsoon weather, if that factors in at all.
Chinese Zodiac: I dont know much about this, only that my birth year was under the Horse on the restaurant placemats.

I have no idea what my element is. Also, what is a Spirit element?

all of my numbers and birthsigns and stuff point to earth... but i have found that my hobbys and personality and everything about me points to air.... so im confused

By the zodiac, I'm a Virgo on the cusp of Leo.

My Birthstone is Peridot

Geoligical surrondings?... In a*^$#%#@ desert, no nearly enough green things unless you call the green slime on the puddles a plant. Be warned teh puddles dry at an alarming rate so it' more of faded green spot than actually alive.

Personal Connection

Water,
I'm okay if it's a lake, but I really don't like the ocean.

Air,
The air here feels like a blow dryer so I'd have to say i love AC air.

Fire,
I've loved fire since I was little, much to the chagrin of my family, one to many toaster oven fires.

Earth,
I grew up half dryad. If I wasn't gardening I was reading in my tree. My affinity is most definitely centered in earth.

By number, and various other things, I am Earth and I do feel a good connection with it. Though I feel more towards Spirit than anything else.

What is a spirit element? I've never even heard of it before!

I like water most...does that mean it's my element?

I'm a Pisces, so it would make sense that way. And I've always loved to swim. Even on the astral plane...especially lately I've been throwing myself into the ocean and getting rid of my problems.

So I'd say it is mine...

don't get any big ideas, they're not going to happen...
Taking all of those suggestions of finding your element (western & chinese zodiac, birthstone, numerology, etc etc), I'm every element and spirit razz

Truthfully, though, I'm a fire. Wasn't always... I started out as water. Once I grew out of the teenage emotional rollercoaster, I settled into being a fire.

What is a spirit element? I've never even heard of it before!

This is what I've learned about it... the spirit element, or fifth element, also known as Akasha. I'm assuming that's what the creator of this thread meant by spirit element, as I do not know of any other spirit element.

This is a direct defintion from Scott Cunningham's "Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner":

Quote:
Akasha: the fifth element, the omnipresent spiritual power that permeates the univers. It is the energy out of which the elements formed.

I hope that helps! mrgreen

Those were both very helpful! I remember now, the spirit point on the pentagram(or is it pentacle?).

Does anyone know how I would interpret my zodiac/birthstone/etc. into one element? I really dont know what I would be, since I have felt close to all elements at one time or another and definitely couldnt go about picking one of them! I think some objective advice and perspective could be useful here!

(My info is at the top of page 2)

I've always felt close to all the elements, however especially so to 'energy' aspects and 'thoughtform' beings.
I don't believe so much in being told your element judging only from physical numbers and dates. By definition in that way, I'd be a water element. However, I feel much closer to spirit than water.

western zodiac:aquarious(mainly air but is the water bearing...has always confused me there)
Birth stone: amethyst: air or water(I've seen both on here), onyx-fire
Chinese: I am a Fire Tiger(please note that each chinese sign has different elements depending on the year you were born under that sign....I am a fire tiger, 1986, but there are also wood, water, metal and earth...ex: 1985: wood ox, 1987: fire rabbit, etc-those are the only I remember off the top of my head)
Birth number: this I have some debate over...it only goes to 9, but if you study numerology there is also the special numbers: 11 and 22 that are not supposed to be broken down further because they are devine numbers....my birth number is 11...so by this I guess the element would be spirit(since it is a divine number and spirit was not represented in the number list) but....if I were to break it down(which just isn't settling well with me so great since it's a number that's not supposed to be)...mine would be a 2 (water)....so really....I think Akasha or spirit is my element since I feel aligned with all elements....I could never decide one over the other

Basically that's how it's usually concieved. It was first used in the Greeks as a way of distinguising gross matter from celestial matter. It's also been used to signify the perfect union of the four, or Quintessence. Somewhat similar to gold and the philosopher's stone persued by alchemists.

I personally don't use the Fifth in my system, as it is understood that no thing is ever just 'one' element via the Greek system. There might be dispositions though.

Western Zodiac Sign: Sagittarius
Birthstone: Yellow Topaz
Birth Number: 6
Geography: I live in Ohio, always no more than 20 mins. from the lake (except in college, and even then we had a stream going through campus).

I've always thought of myself as a fire element, but I notice that when I get depressed I turn into a water element

Personal connections

Water - I love swimming. I love wading in the lake. I've never been to the ocean.

Air - Umm...I don't feel for it one way or the other...

Fire - It's what I usually feel comfortable as. I think fire is interesting to watch, but I'm not dumb enough to play with it; it's not a toy or a thing for amusement.

Earth - I enjoy walking through the metroparks in the city where I live...I've not really felt close to the Earth until recently.
