looking at all these Orochimaru pics made me look around and see his, juraiya's, and Tsunade's childhood pcitures.

And one thing scared me. how the hell couldn't they tell Orochimaru was going to become an evil psychopath? Look at the kid, he's pale and ahs the evil stare even as a child! I mean come on, it was freakin obvious!

Appearance isn't everything, in fact -- the way I see it, Orochima could have turned out either way, but unfortunately, history tends to repeat itself.

I'm still a little erked at why his thoughts had changed so much. Living in Konoha, you'd think he'd earn positive morals. Family influence, perhaps.

Well, perhaps not totally family influenced. One must remember that he was, is, and forever will be -- a genius. But with genius there is also insanity, perhaps through some things (like favoritism from Saturobi) led him to think that he could be... a great leader.

That's why he was so crushed when he didn't get the Hokage title, Saturobi by then had realized his mistake. And then committed another one by not finishing off Orochima when he had the chance.

Heh, too smart for his own good, so much that he looked upon the world in a wider spectrum than that of his surrounding peers, which granted him a unique train of thought. I've known a few people like that in my lifetime, and half of them were a little negative.

But... where did he get his fear for mortality, I wonder.

What I'm thinking is that... well, see it this way if you will. When one has been praised or favored because of talent or intelligence, they get this train of thought that nothing extremely bad can happen to them because of forementioned intelligence and talent.

But then, because of his genius, he started to experiment, perhaps with the mind-set of, "If I am considered a genius, why should my talents be wasted and fade with time?" At some point, we all do get the sense that we don't want to leave the world, because there is so much that we can do to either help it, or make it better for ourselves.

Maybe he did encounter a time where his mortality was tested and he was jogged out of his supreme thought to see that -- yes, he is human and yes, he will die eventually. That is a scary thought to anyone, no? And maybe he doesn't have the comfort like others do that there may be something on the other side for him to look forward too?

Since, from his mind-set, he sees death as the ultimate ending to everything. There's nothing beyond that point. Maybe... he just doesn't want to face that.

Damn, does it feel good to hold a long discussion with you, Dini. Now if only KT where here. ^^;;

Rar, your replies are long. Darn, I need to work harder.

I know Kishimoto is attempting to make the Sannin and cell 7 correspond with one another, but I hope he doesn't go too far in doing so. Naruto was orphaned at birth, Sakura actually had parents, and Sasuke's family was slaughtered. If the Sannin's past turn out to be the same thing, I'll be a little upset. Sorry, random thought.

I assume that even I would feverishly avoid mortality if I happened to have a lot to lose (and if I was more or rather 'wicked').

Where he also decided that jutsus were the ultimate power I like to ponder on, but the cause could be as simple as, he had kept an eye on elite Shinobi and was especially marveled by the techniques they had. But, Orochimaru most likely sees jutsus in an academic sense, that the majority of techniques someone has measures their intelligence. It's assumed by most that the more books you have, the more knowledgeable you are, but it surprises me that he sees the Naruto World's ninja arts by such a small breadth. It's strange that he's also ignored the 'Will of Fire' that existed so strongly in his surroundings, which in the Naruto World, is a crucial element of being a Shinobi. Maybe haughtiness has hindered this, but was he really that conceited?

Oh, you're so clever, Marie. You revealed a few things I wasn't able to put my finger on before. I hope you become a psychologist someday, since you can even narrow down a cartoon character in psych.

I bet you even know Jiraiya on a different level than I do. Hehe.

I hope so too, and it's wonderful practice just to use the characters from Naruto because we don't get to see much into their past, but I get enough just watching them act and compare it too symptoms that are presence in people that are nearly the same way.

What couldn't you see before? I would like to see if I can help you spot a few things.

Heehee, like you wouldn't believe, not even Jiraiya is safe from me. ^^
