"Looks like you made some high off friends. Tokugawa is quite honorable..." She had met him only a few times, but honorable was almost an understatement. "You did a great service by staying to restore honor. Very noble indeed." Rogue smiled slightly. "And the five years that led you here...what of them?"

Alasdair smiled as Kaei praised him for regaining his mentor’s honor. Alasdair was pleased with Rogue; he was pleased that someone was actually listening to his tale. Then again, Kaei had few choices; it was either listened to Alasdair or falls asleep.
“Yes, Tokugawa is a great leader, one of the best…” Alasdair replied with a grin. “Of course present company among the best.” Alasdair chuckled lightly. It was true that Tokugawa was great, but Rogue was a great elder. Alasdair couldn’t imagine how she handled the entire New York Covent all by herself.
“Well back to our story” Alasdair said playfully. “I witnessed the great changes in Japan, and in all over the world. I saw how the city of Edo became Tokyo; I saw how the simple and secluded nation of Japan became the most advance country in the world. I saw a great deal of change on the rest of the world. Of course I travelled the entire world; the coven sent me on missions all over the world. It was a great fuss when the British Empire- the empire where the sun never sets- fell. Japan gave a lot to me, but I knew it was time for me to go.”
“Over the years the coven grew dependant on me, Tokugawa asked me to leave Japan. My presence unsteadied the coven. Some vampires grew dependant on me and some even diminished Tokugawa’s rule. I knew my time was at an end, but Tokugawa felt no ill will against me. I respected the vampire a great deal, and he respected me. He offered me the Coven when he felt like retiring. I declined and left.”
“I knew my place was not in Japan, I had taken everything I could from the coven: alliances, teachings, culture, technology and fame.”
“So when I left Japan I headed back to Spain, to see what my home land was. I found nothing familiar about my mortal country, so I resumed my mentor’s work. I wandered. I saw the greatest cities on the world, until an old seeker told me the New York was an interesting town to see.”
“I, of course, had never set foot on the United States. They never really interested me much, but my contact said that there was a unique concentration of all races on the city, and some dangerous hunters. So after almost five years out of Japan, I decided to visit New York. And here I am…sitting beside the woman I love, on the medical room of the coven, telling my long tale.” Alasdair chuckled heartily as he finalized his tale. It had been the first time he had ever told the entire story of his five hundred years of life. He was pleased that someone had listened when he decided to tell it.

Rogue smirked, her eyes watching the ceiling fan circulate air throughout the room.. She felt his accomplishment in his voice. She felt like she knew a bit more about him...a bit about his past. There are always holes as one cannot quite retell 500 years in a few hours...especially in the life of a vampire, but something was better than nothing, and she loved him for it.
"It is a good tale...a good life. Beautiful, like the owner of the tale... and Japan is a beautiful country...though a bit crowded."

Alasdair chuckled a bit as she comment about Japan. She was right about it being crowded and about its beauty. It looked like Kaei was feeling better, and that was always good news. “Japan is beautiful, but it’s nothing compared to your beauty.” Alasdair replied in a whisper. He smiled as he slowly moved his hand closer to hers.

She opened her hand to his, and clasped it gently, still keeping her head still. "You are full of flattery aren't you? Even when my body is completely marred and I look like road kill..." She laughed softly.

Alasdair laughed lightly at her comment. Even if she looked beat up, she just oozed beauty in Alasdair’s eyes. As Kaei opened her hand and grasped his, Alasdair smiled warmly as he tightened his grip on her hand. “Your body may look a bit beat up, but you still look beautiful… So tell me about yourself my love. If you have the strength.” Alasdair replied in a whisper.

She smiled warmly and tilted her head looking into his eyes. "Oh, the tales of our lives..." She looked up then at the ceiling and straightened her neck. Her body still ached, but it was healing. "Aristocracy in France. My family was somewhat important, and we had money. We lived well...of course you've met my twin siblings...our resemblance is quite marked..."

Alasdair smiled at Kaei as she turned to face him, then leaned back against the chair but kept his hand clinched with Kaei’s. His eyes began wandering towards the ceiling as he felt the weight of his weakened body. “So that accent I heard from time to time was French…no wonder it sounded familiar.” Alasdair replied faintly. “Yes your are very lucky to have such close siblings, you do look very similar.”

"We are very similar indeed. The funny part though, is that we've only recently found and discovered of each other's existence. The twins have been together...but I was alone, and I thought they were dead.
I loved staying at our house in the country, where I was free to roam about on our land. The sunsets always captivated me, as well as the sunrises...the deep green of summer, the grasses so rich, they could make your soul grow into large cedar trees, and flowers..." She stopped for a moment getting lost in the memory.
"My parents shut me in as I was too curious for their liking. Suitors thought I had a wicked tongue, and spoke my mind too much for a woman...I was more interested in art, and drawing everything around me...observing the world. It was a mistake that my father let his artist friend stay at our home when i was 15. He opened my world to a whole new realm of thinking, and a state of being all most. But the real new state of being would come a few years later at a party my parents were hosting.
He had been stalking me for some time I believe. He was in our home having a few drinks, and said he had been caught in my eyes, and I believe he meant it, for he was the one to look away first...I told him that was why he was weak. He made me eat my words later...and enjoyed torturing me."
She paused remembering.

Alasdair heard Kaei’s words attentively. He began visualizing the vivid description of the French country side. “Well your country sounds fascinating. I only visited after those beautiful fields where destroyed.” Alasdair replied with a tired tone. He then slightly punished himself for interrupting her. “So your maker picked you for your beauty? He definitively has good taste. But please go on.”

"I suppose. Later after I was taxed with the company, I went to my room. He had been there when I arrived, though I hadn't noticed him until I had started to change into a nightgown. He whispered that something so beautiful was worth preserving...I started to make a fuss, then I realized he was not human at all.
I fought him with everything I had, which wasn't much, but I fought for my last shred of humanity. He had then thrown me against a wall, and my head had taken a good knock, and he bit deep into my neck and let me feel every bit of life being sucked from my veins.
I woke then to a liquid forcing its way past my lips. There was something terrible to the taste, and then, I latched onto his wrist like a newborn child. It was only after a few moments did I feel my body dying, and I passed out, a very black feeling falling over me.
When I woke, I was in a dirty place locked in a cell, and I did not feel dead...but I ached as any newborn vampire would ache at the pang of thirst. Being Sanguinarian...it was quite a strong burn. He had appeared on the other side of the bars and told me all would be well, I would just need to wait.
Wait for what? I rattled the bars, and a roar escaped my lips, like none I had ever heard before. He brought a young woman who seemed to be passed out to the bars, and for the first time I could hear someone else's heartbeat...loud and strong, panging in my mind. Then i felt the weight of my own fangs in my mouth. He slit her throat and I could smell the very thing I wanted...so sweet and warm, the scent filled the air.
He left me for 5 days then without food, and I fell into a more primitive state of mind as the blood rage took over me. I did not understand it...what my body was doing.

Alasdair silently nodded as Kaei told her tale. He absorbed every word out of her lips, visualizing every gasp. Alasdair remembered the first time he had fed; he felt the same way as Kaei, except he was forced to fight the man before, almost costing Alasdair his life.
“What happened next? How did you escape?” Alasdair asked, full of intrigue and honest interest.

"I ripped through the stone wall. He said he was only making me strong, keeping me there, and only later did I understand he was making the Sanguinarian part of me strong...the rage, and the strength...
He had left me the last three days, and I had not seen him...and I could smell blood. I broke free. I made my way home, and killed my parents as all I wanted to do was let them know that I was alive...but the thirst took over, and their screams at the sight of me...
I didn't know how to blend in at all. I hardly could understand what I was. The twins saw me, and I know now that later after I had left, their fate would be similar to mine. I never saw the vampire that changed me again. I did not even know his name.
But I fed, and my conscience was ripped from my mind those first five days, so that I felt no moral qualms when I fed. I did later, but, to be sustained by the strong thirst, I fed often enough so that I would not lose control again."

Alasdair was eating each word out of her mouth. Even though he was extremely weak, he could still pay attention to Kaei’s tale. “So how did you go from that…To this” Alasdair said as he gave a gentle sqeeze to her hand.

As Alasdair listened to Kaei, his attention suddenly broke off. His earrings where rigging softly. Alasdair suddenly had a very serious look on his face as he stood straight and released Rogue’s hand. He flicked the farthest earring. At once a voice came out informing Alasdair that they had picked up very important information from Sibyl’s communicator. The vampires in charge of monitoring everything in the different communicators knew that they had to report to Alasdair immediately if anything important was learned. The HQ reported to Alasdair everything they knew about Sibyl. They reported that she had been turned back, they reported about the rune she possessed now and about the future assault on the subway.
Alasdair looked up to Rogue as the voice in the earrings died. He gave a faint smile as he looked at her beaten body. “We have a slight problem. The Lycans are organizing an attack on the subway. Sibyl, now the new Beta, is organizing it herself. Jaden will not take part of the assault, but Sibyl, Ceon, Layna, Pummel, Roth and Razu are all taking part. They are waiting for the group to meet, when they meet the assault will commence.” Alasdair informed Kaei as he kept looking at her slowly healing body.
