The Doctor flinched, the fear was evident in his eyes and body, but he would have to stand against the deeds of his past now. He had eaten the child's father, and for that there was no forgiveness. He was about to collapse from that weight, himself, and was unsure how long he could stand solitary and hold the unconscious Yami in his arms.
"Miss Chou. Your father was dead. He would remain so either way." Dr. Oddssen said, all calm exitting his voice and the odd timbre returning. His eyes were harsh, yet fearful and sympathic all at once. "It was a body. This girl is -alive- I would do nothing, NOTHING to harm her."

Hikari didnt believe it. Not for one second. But even in her anger she noticed how weak the doctor was, and couldnt see herself forcing him to carry her sister any longer, and she knew for a fact she couldnt do it herself.
She glared daggers into him before finally speaking again. "We will talk inside. Once Yami is safe. And note: Just because he was a body does NOT make it any more right. Lets go"
Even though her words spoke of her moving as well, she stood still, planning on walking behind him so she could watch. The shy timid girl everyone knew so well was gone, and replaced with the protective sister that she truely was. It was the anger that made her so demanding. So blunt. It was the rage and fear that ceased the pink circles that commonly filled her cheeks and stopped the stutters that came from her tounge.
If he even made a move to escape she'd catch him. He was weak, and was carring her sister. She doubted he would make it very far at all, and if needed a swift kick might bring him down.
At the same time her eyes darted to Larry and wondered if he was an acomplice. As she waited for the doctor to move she questioned warly "Does HE know about you?"

Dr. Severin walked towards the store carefully, trying to keep his weak body moving and keeping a strong grip on Yami. If he dropped the girl, he feared what her sister would do. He spoke slowly as he walked, still trying to keep his voice down, "No.. no one does. You are the first." he answered, lying. Grondax knew what a monster he was, but made no note of caring, as long as he got buisness.
"For... all that is may, or may not, be worth, Miss Chou.." The doctor said, as he stepped out of the rain and into the woman's store that was offered for shelter. "I'm.. sorry."

Emi remained in her bookstore, staring out at the rain. She tried to not look at the rain, either by taking a sip of her drink of looking at the dusty books next to her. But it was hard for her to try not to, for each time she would stare at the rain more memories of her past would overflow, trying to bury her past within her mind was starting to become unbarable as the rain continued to come down.
She took one last drink of the alcoholic beverage that was in her hand, finishing what was left in the glass and placing it on to the table that was near her. She slowly stood up and walked towards the main door in her shop, locking it as she closed the door behind her. She looked up at the sky as the rain continued to fall down onto this world, feeling the water on her face she lowered her head and started to walk down the streets, she didn't care where she ended up....this was the only way she was able to try to push the last bit of memory of her past back to where she had hid it within her and to hide her own blue eyes as the rain poured down on this world and on the people....

"Put Yami down here. Please." Though she added the 'please' it was more of a command then anything else. Her doe brown eyes had taken a strange dark look in them that was never seen there before.
She felt like that scared child she had felt like when Ein and his sister had left her all alone. That cold distant from everyone else feeling, the one that made her feel all alone and that in order to survive she needed to bite any hand that came towards her. Weither it was one feeding her or one petting her, it was still a threat in her mind.
"Sorry?" she questioned when he apologized, a bitter laugh escaping her throat, her eyes stinging with unshed tears. Her vision became blurred with the liquid in her eyes but she refused to cry in front of him. She wouldnt give him that pleasure. Instead she casted her eyes away staring at the floor with a sudden interest. "Sorry doesnt even BEGIN to cut it. There is nothing you can say. Nothing.
Her breath quivered as she spoke and she fought to gain control of her emotions again. "Nothing you can do will make up for it either, I want you to know. At this she turned her head in a dramatically slow way as if it pained her to look at him, and in a sense it did. Her eyes were half lidded as her hands came up to hover just above her chest. One hand curled into a fist, the other closed over it. A soft, sad sigh escaped her before she conitued "Doesnt matter what you do...its what you did...and I dont think I can ever forgive you. "
The pain was still evident in her voice, but at this point it had softened considerably and was barely above a whisper. At least now- she had control of her emotions.

Doctor Severin carefully placed Yami on the ground, then straigthened, his eyes closed to ignore the pain as his wounds became warming with the feeling of blood. He swallowed, trying to fight to control his rising anxiety, his pupils were small and his skin had become frightly pale, and occasionally his eyes flickered and looked at things that were only there in his mind.
"I..I just had to say something." He said quietly, his voice wavering as he fought to control the oncoming assault of his mind. His prior fit was a bad one, and he couldn't have an episode in the middle of town, not with such people around. his hands clenched and the nails dug deep into the palms, recreating the wounds form before.
"May you atleast let me help your sister?" Dr. Oddssen asked, the plea in his voice. It was clear something was wrong with him, his body would randomly convulse and his eyes were everywhere, but the people in the room, seeing things that only he saw.

The rain got worse. Nekura looked up and gave a sigh, "...mmm...it's nice...but...I should return..." he said. He turned away from the lost district having made it to the border between Kensington and Lost.
His steps carried him through the paths he had taken to get to where he was and returned to the abandoned building. He stopped as he smiled at Vincent, "If your boss Grondax has an issue with me exploring and learning about my new home. Then I will have to rescind my offer and return all of the supplies he has given me. I may be giving him a portion of my tinctures but I am not his property."
This was all said to Vincent before he could speak. Obviously Nekura knew or had at least seen Grondax. He then made his way in and took a seat. He looked square at Vincent, "You can go get your boss. I will be here when he returns."
With that Vincent quickly left, having someone else remain to watch Nekura while he went to retrieve Grondax.

“What do you mean she is busy,” Grondax yelled at one of the poor serving girls as Vincent walked up. “You bring news Vincent?”
Vincent stood there drenched gasping for air. “Yes sir,” Vincent replied, “Nekura has just recently returned. He seemed to be expecting me. I left Grimy there to watch him.”
“Good enough,” Grondax smiled at the man, “You are dismissed for today. Get a nice hot bath. It will do you good.” Vincent bowed again and left. Grondax knew enough to keep his men happy, even if he would run them through the night if he could, but that would be saved for when he really needed it.
Grondax turned to the serving girl and bowed, “You may inform your mistress that we have visited. I have a feeling it will not be the last.” With that Grondax brushed his hair back and left with the Lieutenant for the abandoned building.
The trip did Grondax good as he formulated his approach for the man. One never revealed their hand too early. “The rabbit seems to have been spooked into his hole,” replied Grondax to the Lieutenant, “He is still useful to us. Do not reveal anything to him.”
When he arrived at the abandoned building he knocked briskly three times and entered. “Ah, I was looking for you.” Grondax bowed, “I hope you found the surrounding area of interest?”

Nekura looked dead at Grondax, while he was gone, even Grim didn't catch this. Nekura had put a half-mask on. His visible eye was cold. He just watched him for a moment before standing up.
"...I agreed that in turn for supplies...I would give you a portion of what I make. Poison, Healing or otherwise. I did not however agree to be your property. I got the feeling when I returned from your man Vincent that is how I am being treated. If this is so, I will return everything you have given me and be on my way." he looked right through Grondax.
This wasn't the meek doctor from earlier, apparently he acclimated rather quickly to the region. That or there was something off about his personality that wasn't apparent earlier. He turned his gaze to the table, "I have found a location that will be more beneficial to my work, and I will continue to explore the local districts so that I can better understand the kind of hell I have brought myself to. Again, if you have a problem with this, then we will end our association here." He stated in a flat tone that left no room for arguement. He turned his gaze back towards Grondax, still looking through the man as if he did not even exsist.

Luckily for Grondax he prepared his mind ahead of time. He would be sure to avoid such words as insolent and ungrateful. This man was important, and if he needed to feel secure so be it. After all when the day ended Grondax would rather let his contacts alone. There was less upkeep on his part that way.
There was also Valerius to think about. If there were others like him it would be a good addition to Grondax’s military might. He would have to appear strong, but he had a feeling that the man was a righteous soul as well. Grondax supposed that even he was righteous at one time, before Sekhet.
“You may go Grim. Enjoy a hot meal at The Pinch on my tab. Good work today” Grondax nodded to Grim who was now turning and leaving the room.
Grondax turned and bowed slightly to Nekura and said in an apologetic voice, “If my men have intruded on you personal space I will scold them, however, that is no reason to give me an ultimatum. We are all adults here.”
Grondax walked to and looked out the window and traced a line on the window pane, “To be honest, I was simply wondering if making dark red dye was within your abilities. I am interested in,” Grondax paused, “getting an outfit made. If you can make enough for a set of small clothing I would be honored to pay whatever your price is. In addition to the materials I brought for it of course.”
Grondax approached Nekura, “As far as your ultimatum, there was no need to even pose it. As long as you keep me updated I see no need to do more then check up on you every now and then to make sure I am keeping up my end of the bargain. In addition, I am more then pleased that you require no more accommodations then herbs. This will be used as a warehouse then, and Grim will run a pawn shop front so people don’t become suspicious. He will let you in the back for more supplies whenever you wish.” Grondax toned his voice in a solemn manner, “I reserve my rabbit holes for those of importance like you. I was worried when you were not around, but it seems my worry was misplaced. If you feel you can take care of yourself then I will leave you to your own devices. You shall have my men follow you only upon your request. Any payment for resources can be brought here as well, and Grim will take care of it. I can even have your tools moved to your new residence if you would like.”
Grondax stuck his hand out to the man, “If that is all I would very much like to seal our agreement, and perhaps talk of getting a dye made.”

Arishi “We’ll find s’mplace teh stay fer now, then. You’ve got ‘ny sugge’ns?” Zasar pulled the hat farther down over his eyes and tilted his head back to peer up at the sky, searching for any clue that the rain would come to a stop anytime soon. This, however, hardly seemed to be the case. He turned his attention back towards Mercy, though brownish eyes remained on the clouds. “No, I’d think’t not. Your job’s much diff’nt from the ‘norm’. Hafta make those kids up standin’ memers o’ society, though. Can’ have ‘em jus runnin ‘round n’ all.” "There's a few places here, but I'm not really sure if they would be enjoyable as they are more down under the table set ups," Mercy answered as she pointed foward, more to the future then a direction they should go.
"If you can consider them respectable to society..." she sighed softly not a sad sigh but an empty one. "They at the least have someplace to be then the streets."

Grondax “The rabbit seems to have been spooked into his hole,” replied Grondax to the Lieutenant, “He is still useful to us. Do not reveal anything to him.”
Valerius gave his commanding officer a covert nod. So, the query was also known as "The Rabbit" and, conversely, his lair was called "The Hole". This was good information to have for future reference.
Already he'd adopted the hunched stance he'd deemed mandatory for a merchant, and was drawing figures in the air, muttering to himself, frowning, and then muttering some more. Giving the serving wench a wary look and clutching his money pouch tighter (despite the fact that it was empty--it was the action that counted anyway), he swept out of the establishment snobbishly.
He continued in this guise as he followed Grondax to a building (as always surreptitiously checking the corners of his vision for oncoming attackers) which he assumed was The Hole.
Noting the general's actions towards The Rabbit, Valerius determined that the situation would most probably take the form of a verbal dispute. Which was fortuitous, considering that seedy merchants like Victor Street usually specialized in being slimey rather than engaging in swordplay.
This part of the negociations, he presumed, had placed The Rabbit in a crucible-- a phrase that conjured up a brief but pleasant memory of feasting on stewed hare with his comrades years ago-- the results of which the general seemed to have found satisfactory. Valerius had chosen to remain outside of The Hole, ready to provide back-up when necessary and to guard the entrance to prevent the Rabbit from bolting.
A few words of the general's speech caught his ear. Rabbit holes? So there were more of these people? ...More Rabbits? It made sense, giving the multiplicative properties of the mammal. Suddenly, Valerius was struck by something: hadn't the general called himself The Rabbit as well? Oh dear. This was obviously a family matter. Nevertheless, he reminded himself to begin keeping tabs on all these rabbits he found running around Wynander.

The Doctor took to this whole patient-calm-authority thing like a fish to water. The change in voice, Larry recognized with admiration, was drilled with precision and just the right notes. Down instead of up on the end of sentences, enough variance to be reassuring instead of monotone, and boy did he use that natural depth!
If there was one thing Larry knew, it was voices. Imititating the Doctor's rusty, unused responses would be a breeze, but imitating that would be a pleasure. Larry decided sending the Doctor an appreciative whistle might spoil the effect.
Instead, he shot the girl a little smile and followed orders.
"Hello there, miss! Name's Larry, how do you do? And, uh, thanks for the offer. We'll get her right inside! Not sure what happened, me and the Doc just got here. We're on a bit of a secret mission, you see. Very mysterious." He looked back over his shoulder, his greeting still running on. It was a wonder he hadn't paused for a break yet. Larry contributed this to an excellent degree of breath control. "Guess he's got her. Had a bad run-in with some theives or something. Got a bit of a limp. I don't think it's permanent. He said he was alright when we met up this evening. ..Awful nice of you to offer up your place. Do you run it, or just work-"
There were several problems going on behind Larry, which he seemed to very conveniently miss. It wasn't clear whether this was out of a certain determination to miss them, or he just happened to turn around at the right moments. Larry caught the other girl shoot him a funny kind of look, and he responded with a smile and a wave, still talking energetically.
He stepped back out into the rain when the party of three stormed through. The first girl looked irate, the Doctor looked tired, and the other girl didn't look like much.
"Hey, uh, thanks again for the quick lodgings. We'll be out of your hair as soon as we can. ...Ladies first."

"The dye is easy to make, if you have the right ingredients." takes a strip of cloth and marks down what is needed and the quantities before he placed it in the outstretched hand of Grondax. "I only shake the hands of those I trust, and so far...You've proven to be an apt merchant, but not someone I am able to explicitly trust beyond business dealings...That profit you." Nekura stated.
"As your proposed set up, yes it sounds appropriate to me. You will get an accurate third was it not of anything I create. I will also include instructions for appropriate uses and applications, whatever they may be. I also ask that, your men do not shadow me or follow me around. While I work I prefer to be left to my devices, and you will receive what you stated for the deal." He responded, folding his arms across his chest.
It was obvious by the look in his visible eye that he did not trust Grondax one bit, "Oh and...you and I both know...that Grim was not the only guard you had with you. I do have eyes and a brain, so there is no need to keep him hidden out of view. I already know he's likely between me and any normally safe exit."
