Yes, I have seen a professional drama performance. It was an Alvin Ailey Dance Performance in New York City and it was amazing.

The last play I remember reading was A Midsummer Night's Dream. I didn't particularly like it. I have also seen a few off-Broadway productions, and they were interesting and had lots of humor, but I would not want to read it again.

The last musical I saw was The Lion King on Broadway. It was an incredible production. There was so much emotion, the singing, the choreography, everything was spectacular. I do enjoy musicals and would like to go see more.

I have only watched opera on TV. I found it to be so moving. I would love to see the ballet in NYC. One of my dreams is to make time to learn and dance ballet.

I have watched the Lion King movies and I enjoy the play. It is amazing to see everything come alive and see the characters take form and follow along from the movie and how things are interpreted live.

1. I have not seen any plays in a very long time. The last play I remember seeing was West Side Story during a middle school field trip.
2. The last play I can remember reading was during my Junior year of high school. We read Macbeth. I did enjoy it.
3. As I said in my first answer the last musical I saw was West Side Story. I was never the biggest fan of musicals because I always thought that constant songs could get annoying. But I did enjoy West Side Story a lot. I have warmed up to musicals a bit more as time went on and I might consider seeing more musicals.
4. I have little to no experience with any kind of opera or ballet
5. The last film/TV adaptation of a play I remember watching was Romeo and Juliet during my Freshman year of high school. The tragic love story has always been memorable and iconic and I can see why because they told the story in a very good way in the 1968 film.

kayliterate 1. The last professional drama performance I watched was the musical Wicked on Broadway. 2. The last play that I read that I remember is All My Sons by Arthur Miller. I really enjoyed its message, and I wish I could've seen a production interpretation of it. 3. I have only watched one ballet, The Nutcracker, and I enjoyed seeing the story and emotions play out via movement. I've also watched Opera performances on TV but have never attended in person. 4. One film adaptation is Romeo and Juliet with Leonardo DiCaprio. I prefer to read the play first and then watch it, so I can compare my interpretation with the director/actor's interpretation. Word count: 113 I do agree with reading the play first and then seeing the film adaptation of the play. Not only do you get to see how you visualize the story vs how a director would visualize it. But there are some things that the movie does differently with certain scenes and it makes the story more impactful when you already have a general understanding of the story. Word Count: 66

Have you ever attended a professional drama performance? Which type of drama was it (play, opera, musical, dance)?
I have attended a professional drama performance before, several times when I was younger. I have only been to musicals or plays. The most notable musical or play that I went to in middle school with my parents. I think the musical was "Spamalot" but I could be wrong since it was so long ago.

What is the last play you read? Did you enjoy it?
The last play I read was Macbeth in high school. I thought the plot was good, but I also thought it was definitely confusing at times. This is because I had to take test on it and I read the book and watched the movie, which are two completely different things, for some reason the movie is not anything like the book. But, other than that Macbeth was a solid read.

• Have you ever seen a musical drama? What type of musical was it? Do you enjoy musicals?
I have seen a musical drama before. Most of the musical dramas that I have seen are more comedy than romance. I also have seen fantasy musical dramas. I enjoy musicals if the story is good and the actors/performers are good, because they make the musical.

• What is your experience with opera and ballet?
I have very little experience on opera or ballet. The only times I ever really see these being shown up in my life is in movies or books. Other than that I never really found interest in either one of them.

Have you watched a film / TV adaptation of a play? Which format did you enjoy most, and why?
I have watched a film / TV adaptation of a play. I enjoyed in person play's over film adaptations of a play because it feels more real and I get more immersed in the story. Although I don't like the fact that it is a bit pricy to see the play in person instead of seeing the film adaptation for potentially free.

RobyneG 1) I don't particularly attend drama performances but had the pleasure of being gifted with tickets to see Hamlet for my birthday. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the drama and I felt close to the action. Viewing plays live on stage provides an intimate feel and the live performance draws you into the action. Word Count: 57 Hello RobyneG! I felt the same way when I attended my first drama performance. When I saw one it opened up a whole new insight on drama for me. When I saw “The Nutcracker” for the first time I was amazed how so much can be said with dance and music. Word count: 53

I advise you to try to see at least one play or opera. They can be very informative and fun believe it or not. The first ballet I was exposed to was in middle school and I have loved ballets ever since. I do wish that I had the time to see them more often. As you stated in your post “Romeo and Juliet” was a tragic love story. Sadly, if both families took the time to listen to one another it wouldn’t have been so tragic. Word count: 93

- I have attended a professional drama performance before. It was a ballet, “The Nutcracker” to be exact. Although no words were spoken, it was a powerful ballet. I didn’t understand how a story could be told without words until I saw this ballet. Word count 48
