Minstrel heard Dew Drop Sun walk off, eyes shut tightly he tilted his head to follow the sound of her steps. Too curious now to be cautious he cracks his eyes open, wanting to be sure she was safe, the other doe hadn't given any hint as to what should be expected so for all he knew anything could happen. He's able to make out the silhouette of his racing companion, fully opening his eyes when she gives the all clear.

The cheetah stone glows brightly, and even though he doesn't look at them, Minstrel assumes they all are. Minstrel smiles at Dew Drop Sun, then turns to look at the obelisk, their entire reason for being here. He has no idea why it's glowing, or what purpose it serves, surely it must do something. He couldn't picture any of the swamp's chosen leading a group so far for a simple light show, especially with that whole puzzle to solve.

He's still trying to figure it out, ignoring the pull the obelisk has on him as his mind works over every detail he's taken in since hearing of the first obelisk, when he sees Dew Drop Sun pass by him. She's headed right for the stone spire, and without a second thought Minstrel falls into step beside her. "I'll go. Do it together?"

Re-rolling the third...

Despite Half Truth's warnings and protective efforts, the obelisk's light wasn't painful. The sun didn't roar and the brightness wasn't suffocating. The only thing she felt was an urge- a tugging at the heart and gut that was irresistible. She needed to touch the obelisk. She didn't know why, but she needed to. It would... help her. She could go home. They were done. The obelisk was letting them leave. Confused and more than a little relieved, she strode back up to the obelisk and circled it a few times, looking it up and down. She stared at it, then looked back at Rose. She was momentarily torn between the two- the pull of the obelisk was strong- but there were stronger pulls than any mystical rock could ever hope to match. Stepping back to Rose's side, she felt like collapsing and settled for resting her head on Rose's back for a moment. "Do you feel it too?" she asked, eyes closed. "It's... different than before. It's something new."

The first obelisk had left Rose haunted and broken. Scared to close her eyes, lest the nightmares encroach once more. This time, it was different. She had Half Truth, and she had met Breeze as well. There were others here to share in the journey, and any strangeness that may have followed. Roses in Bloom shifted slightly against Half Truth's touch, a smile on her lips. She was tired... but it was a contented exhaustion. The exhaustion of a job well done, that she'd actually helped.

"I do," She replied, gaze traveling up the length of the obelisk. "It doesn't... scare me this time. Like the last one did."

Stalker shivered against King as the rock lit up, and something like magic whipped through the grass.

He felt a sudden yearning in his chest, not like the ache, but the feeling of home, and that the large stone was less a stone than an entryway, and if he stepped across it, he suddenly knew with some certainty that they'd be back again, to their tribe. To where they belonged.

"Do you feel it, Sire?" Stalker asked. "It feels like...the way back. But how...?"

Distantly, too, he felt the sensation there was...something else. Where the grass was thicker. He couldn't pinpoint why. His tail flicked nervously.

"Sire, do you think we're being...watched?"

"As you say," Stalker said, and they were not the only ones here. Some Kio that had not been in their departing group had walked curiously towards the monolith.

Home. Weren't they in their homes already?

"And we did promise the Queen we'd send word. Have you recognized any here?"
