Yvonne was raised at the Asphodel academy, having been abandoned by her parents the same hour she was awakened. She was a sorry victim of the recent 'mutant trend', where irresponsible parents awakened stones during the Hallows in hopes of their child having desireable mutations. Yvonne has never truly resented her parents, even after being mocked and bullied by other students. Her treatment was far less severe than other mutant children, with many of her classmates even finding her small wings 'cute'. No one seemed to comment on her third eye, but she made good use of it. As a child she showed an artistic flare, but her true passion was for flowers and other decorative plants. She filled her dormitory with tiny potted succulents and vases of beautiful roses, keeping them alive far longer than her teachers expected.
Yvonne enjoyed her time at the academy; her patient and motherly demeanour made her well-liked as she grew older, especially by other children who were otherwise unloved. She did well in her classes, but she never truly excelled. When she graduated, Yvonne hastily enrolled at Asterion, wanting to turn her love for plants into a career by studying botany. She found it difficult to find a job in the field, however, and ended up making money by taking what others saw as trash and turning it into art. She especially enjoyed finding broken porcelain and kitchenware and filling in the missing pieces with mismatched colours. Often she'd use preserved flowers in resin to fill in little holes, and over time she sold enough to set up a small market stall on weekends. By the time she graduated from Asterion, Yvonne knew what she wanted to do with her life, but first she needed to find the perfect base of operation.
The growing town of Rosebud had been on the news a few times during her studies, and Yvonne was determined to live there. It seemed that a small town full of creative people would be the perfect spot to grow her trade, and once she arrived she was not disappointed. She was able to cheaply rent a small cottage from the town manager, and in no time she was finding teacups, teapots, lightbulbs, jars and other such items in secondhand stores. After establishing a small but impressive garden in her yard, Yvonne began to turn her finds into charming planters, filling her home with teacups that sprouted succulents, lightbulbs with ivy pouring out and teapot vases. There was a good market culture in Rosebud, but after a few years Yvonne took it upon herself to arrange the first market purely for homemade arts and crafts - she named it 'Sprouts Market', and it has run twice a year since then. Over the years it has gained popularity, with people coming from cities all over Above and Below to look at the delightful stalls. Running the market has almost become a full-time job for Yvonne, but she wouldn't trade it for the world.

rose was a gift to yvonne from her art teacher. when she was younger, the mutant had struggled to make friends - children can be so shallow - so her teacher had adopted the spectrefox so yvonne could have some companionship. yvonne will always be grateful to her teacher for that, for she and rose have been inseparable ever since. rose is as silent and mysterious as most of his kind, but since he was a pup he has been loving towards his companion. yvonne takes rose with her everywhere she goes, and he has become the unofficial mascot of the sprouts market.

yvonne found jonquil when she first moved to rosebud. while her cottage had been fairly well maintained before her arrival, it seemed there were a few familiars occupying the home. most of them fled as she began to settle in, but one small flitterat seemed determined to stay in its nest. yvonne simply left jonquil to his own devices for the first few months, occasionally offering him small bits of cheese and bread. over time the flitterat grew to trust the new tenant, and eventually became her new companion.

during one of her many trips to a local second-hand store, yvonne heard a skittering behind a clothes rack. after some investigation, she discovered a possum hiding in the corner. she was repulsed at first - such creatures were usually seen as pests back in asphodel - but the creature had a glint in its eye that fascinated yvonne. after some discussion with the store owner, she decided to take the familiar home, and he seemed more than happy with the situation. yvonne pampers her new friend, brushing him daily and cleaning his ears and tail, much to the familiar's chittering delight.

Atza would proclaim she had the most boring childhood one could imagine. She was the single child to two businessmen, both of whom were far more committed to their jobs - a lawyer and an accountant - than their daughter. While they said 'I love you' every day, the words were hollow without the actions to support them. Atza grew to be incredibly self-pitying, despite living in an expensive estate and having her own nanny. Her fathers often encouraged her to learn musical instruments or take up creative classes, but Atza only seemed to be interested in one thing - magic. She excelled in every field of magic she tried, but as she began to attend the academy and learn about the history of the litches, she grew fascinated by the more forbidden arts. Atza found it hideously unfair that litches could no longer practice necromancy or hemomancy; clearly the other races were merely jealous of their skills. Purely out of spite, Atza put all of her focus towards learning the theories surrounding these dark arts.
Of course, Atza's fathers hardly paid attention to their daughter's interests, they were simply delighted that she was topping most her classes. They encouraged her to grow powerful in her magic, hoping to one day be proud fathers of an influential magic-user. With her fathers hardly giving her the time of day and her snarky demeanour scaring off potential friends, Atza found it difficult to find company she enjoyed. During her later years at the academy, she found herself falling into a group of self-proclaimed witches. Mostly they giggled over minor hexes and pranks, but the secretive group was a perfect outlet for Atza to practice her more dangerous spells.
With most of her witch friends leaving for Leviathan, Atza naturally followed. To the surprise of her fathers - but no one else who knew her - Atza chose to major in hemomancy theory. She has taken well to university life, spending most of her spare time hanging around cool new cafes and bars. Her confidence and snarky wit can be off-putting to some, but is seen as very attractive to others. Atza no longer finds herself desperate for company, and instead feels she could lead her own coven. She has taken up part time work as a nail artist - she enjoys the craftmanship and the gossip - and hardly takes a thing in the world seriously. Eventually she will have to actually consider what she wants to do with her life, but it won't be any time soon.

atza has never been interested in the fluffy and cute familiars, far preferring nezubats and spectrefoxes. it was unsurprising, then, that when it came time to pick out a fuzzy friend, atza went straight for the gesitly possums. much to her fathers' dismay, she convinced them to take her to a breeder to pick out her very own witch familiar. grave was the most active and curious of the litter, almost bullying his siblings out of the way to get atza's attention. she picked him without hesitation, and the two have been near-inseparable since - grave can almost always be found riding on her shoulder or napping in her bag.

Nicolette has never had to fight for attention, being the younger sibling to a kind and introverted older brother. Her parents have always showered her with love and gifts, causing her to become accustomed to being beloved. Her family called her 'Princess Nicky' and her brother was often coddling her, happy to do most of the chores and help her whenever she needed it. Unsurprisingly, then, that Nicolette fought to be the centre of attention when she began to attend school. It wasn't difficult - her bubbly and accepting personality was charming, and she found herself as one of the more popular students in her grade. She wasn't naturally a scholar, but she got along with her teachers and put in just enough effort to do well in classes. Her parents were delighted by her success and offered her even further praise and rewards, thus fuelling the cycle.
When it came time to graduate from the academy and choose what to do with her budding adulthood, Nicolette was at a lost for the first time in her life. There was no class that she found particularly compelling, and her only real interest was in having attention. She enrolled in community college to study business, feeling that was something that would benefit her no matter what she did. In order to win over her fellow students, Nicolette began to teach herself baking, delighting her classmates and study buddies with freshly baked cupcakes and cookies. This hobby turned into something of a passion, and the grimm found herself making increasingly intricate and beautiful designs. It seemed she had finally found her passion, but she needed to find a way to turn this not only into a career, but a way to get others to love her.
Nicolette began to post her creations on social media and, as she gained more attention, began streaming herself baking. This popularity allowed her to eventually start posting videos that was simply her talking about her life or reviewing products she used, and soon her career was simply 'be loved for being yourself'. Nicolette has found herself addicted to the approval of her fans, and finds herself spiralling at the slightest negative comment. Luckily, she has surrounded herself with other online influencers, spending most of her time networking. Using her business studies, Nicolette has made a brand for herself, and she hopes to only grow bigger and better. She couldn't imagine living any other life, and who knows what would happen if she were to lose her loving fanbase.
