Alice slowed to a halt as she approached the guarding Ledyba. She watched nervously as he refused to move, and while she was unable to understand what the bug was grumbling about, she had a guess that it involved her and him not moving. She reached behind her, lightly tapping Vorpal's hilt. "Er, can you handle this? I'll follow your lead."
The Honedge moved from his place on his trainer's back, coming to rest in front of the Ledyba. He eyed his opponent without much of an [removed](though given his lack of a face, this wasn't perhaps surprising). >We have nothing to pay with except our blood. And if that's the toll you wish to extract, then unless you stand aside...< he shifted around, pointy end first to the bug. >En garde,< said the sword.

The Deoxys floated above the platform, an expression of implacable serenity. It did not move throughout the entirety of Argyle's introduction, acknowledging neither his song-and-dance nor his youthful bravado. There was no reason to, after all. The creature before it was barely more than a child-- a drop in the endless sea of time and creation. The boy would leave, one way or another, and no Pokemon or battle could stop the world.
What would cause the Legendary pause was the flash of a camera-- it would lower its arm slightly, and its gaze turned to the camera. Perhaps that strange device would be taken as trophy. It wasn't every day a human came to the center of the island.
At Argyle's final pronouncement, the Deoxys would finally lower its arm. Another burst of static-- louder, harsher, stronger. It wouldn't move, but rather glared disdainfully down at the Gastly. Not in a true attack, but a Leer.
">Tolls a toll and a rolls a roll. If ya don't pay the toll I don't eat no roll<" The Ledyba pronounced, readying his 'staff' by crossing it over the top of his shell ">Thought of that myself!<" He added, sounding rather proud. Suddenly the insects shell would open up, wings beating rapidly as he took to the air and burst forward! Apparently he wasn't one for a dramatic pause. ">Have at you~!<" Dark energy suddenly encompassed the staff as the Ledyba quickly buzzed to one side, shifting his body and swinging it with all his might. For a normal Pokemon he'd be aiming to sweep the legs out from under them, in the case of the Honedge he'd settle for knocking him off the 'bridge'. This was it's version of a Knock-off attack!

Argyle covered his ears when the Deoxys let out it's noise. Either this thing couldn't speak, or the only TV it had ever seen was broken. Regardless he'd rather like to find the mute button. Sadly he lacked the remote, so he'd just have to make due with breaking the speaker!....assuming it wasn't already broken. "Sybelle, lets crack down on this so called Legend! Astonish!"
">I require a nutcracker!< The Ghost would proclaim, but when none were produced she would give an approximation of a shrug ">Very well! The old fashioned way it is!<" Fading out of existence the Gastly would begin to sing as a voice from nowhere ">I'm a little tea pot short and stout! This is my handle this is my spout! When I get all steamed up hear me.--HGRBLGBLH!<" The Ghost-type suddenly screamed, reappearing in front of the Deoxys and attempting to bite his face. Shock comedy of the sort, but would the Legendary get the punchline?
Starter Pokemon: Croagunk [M] Name & Level: Jekyll, Lv 5 [Temperament] Naughty Bio:The story of how Argyle met Jekyll is a bit of an odd one. After purchasing a bulk shipment of skin rejuvenating mud from Sinnoh's Great Marsh (Guarnteed to take twenty years off your appearance!), Mistress Rosevelt had set aside some time for a fully immersive experience with the product, during which she received quite the surprise. It would seem the mud had come with stowaway in the form of an egg. Unfortunately it was about this same time the egg decided to hatch, splattering the aristocratic woman with muck and eggshell. After a shriek and shrill cry for the nearest Argyle to attend her, Verde arrived and was immediately ordered to dispose of the creature, although not before cleaning up the mess it had created. Whispering a snide remark just below his breath, both Mistress and Argyle were in for a surprise when the newly born Croagunk began to snicker devilishly. It seemed the Poison-type had heard the boy, and shared his sense of humor. Amused by this fact the young Butler then went about the task of convincing Mistress Rosevelt that the Croagunk would be quite useful in his regular duties, allowing him to make the manor to "shine as radiantly as you do Mistress Rosevelt". Little more in the way of convincing was required on the boy's part, and so he obtained his first and for the time being only Pokemon.
Since then Jekyll has proven a good match for Argyle, frequently snickering at the boy's comments be they made aloud, or simply implied. Unlike Argyle however Jekyll does nothing to hide his wicked nature, frequently mocking others quite openly and then laughing about it. Though cruel he is not crude, and more than willingly to amuse himself by catching the enemy off guard. Reaching the island felt a bit like the little engine that could ....as Hiro sat at the back and Blister took the middle of the boat. Both were ready if necessary to try and swim back to shore, even when shore no longer become an option.
It was a bit stressful for the two, but they weather it ...the best they could ...as the sight of shore was meet with a wide grin on the part of the Hiro.
He was so excited, so completely excited.
Finally ...finally ...he would really get to show his skills, and gain another helper for Blight. A single Pokemon can be super strong, but, fighting all those battles herself would also be super tiring as well.
It was always best, that they gained more allies.
Hiro planned to gain as many as three pokeballs would allow.
Thankfully those words weren't spoke out loud, because, the total number of allies he can gain ...would have obviously been three.
"Land ho!"
He would shout, when he felt it was safe for them both to exit, as for once he would recall Blight. The Pokemon disappeared in a swirl of red as he jumped off the boat into the shallows and waded his way to land. He was mindful to keep the camera above water, mainly because, he wasn't sure about it's sturdiness.
"I am going to be the world's greatest."
He shouted loudly.

>Clever,< Vorpal remarked sincerely-- even if he was to fit this Pokemon, he intended to be respectful. Besides, being a guardian out here in the bog by oneself, it was unlikely that he'd ever gotten to show off much. The least he could do was engage the Ledyba properly. At Alice's command, he would lunge backwards towards the middle of the lilypad. He'd try to make it so the Ledyba had no place in which to knock him.

(20-11)+(9-13) = 5 x 2 = 10 DMG! Deoxys is at 11 HP! Deoxys flinched!
The Deoxys would cringe back as the Gastly sunk her teeth into his forehead. It didn't bleed, but rather let out a discordant burst of static in frustration. It shook its head, pulling backwards. Wrapping its arms around its chest, it stared at the pair with restrained fury in its eyes. It desperately wished to charge the gem in its chest for an attack... but it was too unsettled by the Ghost-type. What was a teapot? And why would it make a noise like that? Deoxys had heard many noise over the years, but that wasn't one. Warily, it went on the defensive.

Stick would meet sword, the two weapons locking for an instant before the Ledyba retreated. Surprisingly enough the insects 'staff' would remain in one piece despite being met with an implement as sharp as a Honedge. Perhaps the power of darkness had protected it somehow?
Zipping back to it's original position on the lilypad bridge, the Ledyba would land, using it's lowest set of hands as feet and solidifying it's position, the stick wielded diagonally in a guard stance. He was ready for whatever this self wielding sword intended to throw at him!
With a pull of the strings Argyle would already have it clutched in his head. PRessing the button with his thumb the youth would enlarge the PokeBall preparing for the swing. The Deoxys was weakened from just that one blow, and it wasn't moving an inch such was it's apparently confusion. Now was the time to strike! "DUCK!"
">QUACK!<"
Then strangely the boy would put the ball away, shaking his head It wasn't clear enough yet; though this left a good moment for a diversion. "Sybelle Astonish!"
So it was that after quacking the Ghost would appear and suddenly slap the Deoxys across the face with her tongue.

The youth had landed on a rough and rocky beach. Hot, dry wind would blow past him, kicking up bits of sand and stone in it's wake. Distantly, a rumble of the churning earth rang out, drowning out the boy's proclamation.

Hot, Hiro step upon the shore and found things to be horribly hot. Sand and stone touched his feet as he looked downwards upon, and he almost sneered at the stuff. For he was no fool, he lived in a paradise at one time, but he knew ...that there was other types of lands.
Lands that weren't good for him, because, they were no good to Blight.
Hiro was in one of those lands, and he knew ...he would have to prove his greatness against the worst of environment.
Yet, somehow, he would manage it.
Somehow they would make it through.
The boy would take another step, and then he would swing the Snap shot camera from his shoulders as he took a picture in the distances. For something occurred to him then, something that he saw as it went off with a flash. A flash of bright light, and then he put it away.
He could only hope...hope...that maybe somehow he could use this to his advantage.
Thus he let it swing back into place and continued onwards upon the sands.

The sands upon which he walked wasn't as barren as many thought. He saw nothing but endless rows of sand and stone, but dotting the lands were plants of well. Though these small bits of vegetation was tough in appearances and seemed to be laced with weaponry of their own.
Hiro knew better than to get close to such plants, and thus he only observed as he walked. He trusted his own luck upon his steps, and hope for the best with every step that he took.
The sky was clear, as he looks upwards.
It was hard for it to not to be, for there was no trees or shade or anything to block the sun's intense rays.
If he had chosen the crater as their home..... would it had been like this?

Time seemed to progress slower through this place ....as he walked and walked and walked. As the sands shifted underneath his feet, as there was time when he got stuck as his foot would seem to punch through rocks hidden underneath the sands.
The heat making his neck burn, and his hair was slowly starting to gathers sweat as it glisten in the light.
Hot, this place was hot, and though Hiro knew that Blight would love the sun. She would not feel the same about the dangers of this place ...that threaten to burn and dry her out until she became nothing more than dry timber that would easily burn.
Though, keeping her in the pokeball was wise. It avoided such a fate, and allowed her the chance to be safe ...until needed. No, this journey, the journey of the world greatest trainer must start off alone.

As Hiro walked, he'd find more signs of life than just particularly hardy vegetation. A small Magby bounced from rock to slightly elevated rock, squawking cheerfully each time he landed safely. The things one did to stave off bored in a land that seemed tailor-made for it could be surprising. Regardless, it wasn't outright interested Hiro, so he could walk right by if he so chose.

Sybelle hit, no damage!
Teapots may have baffled the massive virus from space, but not ducks. Ducklett had a tendency to fly into places in which they weren't wanted ot needed... at least their meat was tender and sweet. Regardless, while Sybelle's slap hit, it failed to Astonish... or do much of anything, really. The Deoxys pushed itself a foot back, gearing up some room in which to land a hit. It wrapped it's long arms around it's chest, feeling the dully-lit crystal that resided within the cavity. The Deoxys closed its eyes, focused for a moment, before releasing the attack-- a Charge Beam!
