User ImageComing to find out what should've been the immortality granter saddened Magnolia a bit, but she tried to pick her mood up when she recalled that it was still out there. Possibly. Turning over her shoulder, she retched back a bit at the sight of Aruma, but beckoned him over nonetheless. The Grass-type scuttled over to her and shifted its entire body to the left curiously.

"E-erm, good job, Aruma..." she said to him. "You, um, you did a great job trying to keep up with it. I am proud of you."

"VicTREEEEE!" Aruma cried aloud, bouncing up and down in place. Figuring that he had done what was told with admirable degree, he shook his leaves in expectation for the food he was promised. Tongue lolling from his flower-like body again, he waited patiently.

"Gurk," Magnolia said, swallowing thickly. "I don't... I don't have anything for you..."

This answer did not satisfy the Victreebel. For the first time, he felt his wild instincts waver from anger. Magnolia, catching onto this, widened her eyes and shook her head.

"N-not yet!" she added quickly. "I don't have your treat just yet." She sweatdropped at her own lie as she realized she was just digging the pit she was standing in a little bit deeper. "A-after... After we're done I can get something for you, o-okay? Okay? Does that sound good, Aruma?"

This appeased the Grass-type. With another shriek that could crack glass, the Victreebel flailed his leafy appendages and wrapped her in another Vine Whip hug, squeezing the air out of her.

Reminder to self: Accustom him to berries instead of meat, she thought to herself.

Asphodel just held her little hands to her cheeks and shook it. It seemed this new member of the Claus party was going to be a handful to deal with.

The Dunsparce revealed itself as a Ditto at the last moment, and Juno was almost disappointed when someone else caught it. Its abilities would have proved useful, though its true form was a dull little blob of jelly. The heiress didn't consider the chase a waste of time, in any case -- she'd actually quite enjoyed herself.

But the next encounter was rather a disappointment. The scene of apparent bloody carnage had piqued Juno's interest and sent Desdemona into a fit of glee... but it turned out to be some silly Buneary painting rocks. A pretty creature, but Hyacinth was already waiting at home.

Smirking a little at how much attention Zhira craved, Mako gave a few scritches under the Meowth's chin, down to his throat, "You should meet Fountanne... I'm sure you guys would be great pals.." he mused. Would the two appreciate one anothers similar personalities? Or compete for attention and being the star of the show at all times? either way, it was sure to annoy Emile more than the poor Emolga got already with just Mako's Absol constantly in the limelight.

When Hatch returned emptied handed and rather crestfallen looking, Mako slowly stood up, stretching out his shoulders with a few rolls, before setting his hands firmly on his hips, "Well there's always next time." he assured nonchalantly. You win some, you lose some. When the Ditto was caught, definitely not having guessed that would have been the new target up for grabs, Mako gave Hatch his full attention. "Of course he does. Flua loves most anything, really." Patting the large serpentine's sleek body that was curled around him, the large head of the Milotic lowered to curiously inspect the puff.

He nosed it a few times, before daintily plucking it from Hatch's grasp, to chew on contently. A melodic little song vibrated from him to show his pleasure, the tiny portion of food gone in just a handful of seconds, "See? He likes it. Come on then, looks like we've got further to go."

Following after the rest of the group like before, Mako's brow crooked at the sight of the 'blood'. Well... this certainly took a more gruesome turn. Were there some Victreebell out here that preferred to chew their food unlike the first one? Or maybe they'd wandered into a Mightyena pack hunting... either way, he was a little more on edge, eyes alert as they darted about.

But when the small Buneary came into view, and the various other liquidy, blobby colours were smeared about with a rock splotched with them... Mako couldn't help but let his brows fall heavily. Well this was interesting too. Glancing to Hatch, his arms crossed again to assume his tough-guy stance, "So, how about this Buneary? gonna try for it? not sure what it can do in the way of healing, but..." eyeing the rocks rolled their way, he blinked lethargically, "Might need to have some arts and craft skills to win it over, though."

User ImageAs a bunch of trainers took off after the latest mystery 'mon, Jem and Sammy followed at a less frantic pace. With everyone running about she was more likely to step on someone than capture a pokemon!

"Y'think it's another Dunsparce?"Jem asked her pikachu.

"Chuu pikapi." Sammy shrugged, not really caring. The only thing she cared about was whether or not it was going to attack them.

They heard a commotion ahead of them and caught pieces of the crowd's shocked exclamations.

"-not a Dunsparce at all!"
"-that guy caught it in-"
"-a Ditto out here?"

"I guess it's not the immortality dooly." the redhead muttered. Sammy continued not caring.

----

The group continued and, after a time, they started to see some ominous signs...

"Woah. Way brutal." The young woman said as they passed patch after patch of blood streaked grass. "Why is everything out here so brutal? Is this where you come from, Sammy?" she joked. Sammy stared blankly forward, cheek sparking, unamused.

Suddenly! Screaming Girl made herself known once more! The brutal scene became much less so in the light of Context.

"Oh! You're a little artist!" Jem exclaimed, "That's adorable! My friend would just love you! She's an artist too ya know."

Picking up one of the provided stones, Jem set to work trying too woo the little rabbit with her ~*Art Skillz*~. Sammy grimaced.

"Here look!"

"There's you and there's Nox, she's the friend I was talking about, and there's a heart because you guys like arting together and stuff! Great right?" she said happily.
(The narrator forgot to mention that Jem's "~*Art Skillz*~" are limited to blobby stick figures with clothes on.)User Image

Jorge smiled. She was just glad the two baby pokemon had calmed down and found homes. She looked towards Gormlaith as she approached.

"Thanks, I always like to have Layla practice that move. It seems to get better each time," she grinned. Jorge squinted into the distance as more people ran by, and she tried to spot what they were after. In the end, she just shrugged. "Yeah, same. We can take our time and enjoy the scenery," she laughed.

((It's all good! I'm going away for a few days on vacation, so I'll probably only be able to respond once a day at night. If anything comes up, don't be afraid to go on without me! ^^))

With a small smile, Hatch nodded in understanding. "Yeah. It just means.. something better is coming, right?" He reached down to scratch Zhira's ears when the screaming began again. His eyes widened at the sudden new round of chaos, eyes widening when he saw the girl running around with the blood on her face.

Wait, that didn't look like blood... He walked closer for a closer look, and burst out laughing as the relief spread through him. Rather than another morbid scene, it was just a little buneary. Still, it did catch his interest. "If I remember correctly, the buneary has a healing skill or two, but its evolution has some good skills that can be useful." His brow knit when he saw the buneary challenging the trainers to paint with berry juice onto rocks. He glanced over at Mako, "I don't really have much art skill... but it wouldn't hurt to try, right?"

So, he walked over and picked up one of the rocks to starting 'painting' it.

Zhira slipped around to see what Hatch was doing, but it didn't seem all that interesting, so he went back to circling Mako.

Chewing his lip, Hatch finally stood and set the stone by the buneary. "It's yours, if you'd like it."

Sunny had put Hidi down and they contiued to fallow the others though the forest she was very embarised when she noticed that the pokemon she was scared of was a Ditto. "I really should think before I act." she giggled
She soon heard a girl screaming, there seemed to be a lot of that happening during this adventure. As the girl ran by Sunny took note that the wounds on the girls face were not bleeding at all.
"Heidi lets see what really is going on." as they say the buneary with red on its paws. heidi noticed the smell of Berries and went over and licked the buneary.
"Heidi what was that for." she said surprised as she looked around she noticed the berries and the painted rocks. "Ah an artist, and it seems she wants us to try, Come over here Heidi lets be artistic." Heidi trotted over. Sunny pulled the rock close and the two of them started to paint one half was done by While the other half was done by Heidi who kept on taking bites from the berries and licking the juice off of Sunny fingers.

What came out was an oddly painted rock she was surprised on how neat Heidi was. "What do you think of our rock."

(( holeycow there was a bad thunderstorm last night. it's snowing right now... but the response is finally up! )))

He reacted with a lot of interest in her newly found companion's behaviour. Maybe one day they could hang out again and he could observe the pkmn some more, without being in a grassy field. Perhaps a coffee shop or a bakery could do. If not, she could always drop by the pokecenter where he worked at..

"Oh yeah, I thought your pokemon was slashing her vines at you again so I panicked and ran over to where you were as fast as I could..." he kicked some dirt off of the ground with his soil covered shoe. "I am glad you are okay though..." The thought of her having another deep cut sounded terrible, even if all he did was imagining it inside his own mind...

"We, well I was chasing what seemed like another shiny Dunsparce but it morphed back into a Ditto in front of my eyes. Some other trainer with red long hair caught it." He was about to say something again but this time the girl ran off toward the sound of high pitched screaming. "Right behind you!" he called out loud.

Quickly he zipped all the pockets on his backpack, heaved it over his shoulders, both straps fitting snugly between his arms, and he took off after Rhei. "What could it be this time?" he asked as he saw the Bellsprout flopping about as she got a piggyback from her owner.

Niko suddenly stopped running when Rhei did and walked it off. He stood beside her to take a look at the scene of the crime... His Togekiss swooped over their heads and pecked at the red liquid on the ground. "Berry juice, what a relief." Soon enough, a berry juice covered Buneary appeared angrily pointing at a pile of grey rocks. "I think it wants us to paint one of them..." he whispered, trying not to anger the bun any further...

The buneary eyed each rock in turn before finally settling on the last one with sparkling eyes. Hugging the painted stone close to its chest, it hopped over to Sunny. "Bun, bunea!" It looked like it wanted to come with what it had deemed a good artist.

As the group progressed deeper into the grasslands, the grass it was known for continued to get higher and higher, until even the tallest members of the group were dwarfed by the grass. If anyone were to fly out of the grass, they would see an area obscured by especially tall grass just in front of them. As the assorted trainers and pokemon pressed on, suddenly there was no more grass as they stepped into a shaded clearing. As if by magic, the grass hanging overhead parted to reveal a majestic sight.

But, before anyone could do anything, two familiar faces appeared to spoil the party - Team Rocket! Wait, no, no, it's just the bellsprouts from earlier. But, boy, do they look pissed. They probably watched the entire time as people caught pokemon that were not them and began to feel steadily worse and worse. And now, they wanted to murder things. As one, the two bellsprouts turned to face the dunsparce.

Boss Battle! Protect the Dunsparce!
Quick! The bellsprouts are so enraged that they might kill the dunsparce! And to have three dunsparces not pan out would probably be really disappointing.

Roll two six sided dice per post. The first dice represents your pokemon, or a rock you found on the floor, doing damage to a bellsprout. The second die represents the damage the bellsprouts are doing to the dunsparce. The amount you roll is the amount of damage done. If there are any healers around, they can, once every 3 rolls, heal the dunsparce by rolling a six sided die and adding that total onto it's health instead of subtracting it. You cannot attack the bellsprouts while you are healing.

Keep track of both sets of pokemon's hp like this:

Quote:
Bellsprout Duo HP Remaining: X/100
Dunsparce HP Remaining: Y/100

And replace the variables with however much HP they have left.

Desdemona screeched in rage as the Bellsprout turned on the Dunsparce. That was her mistress's prize, and she wouldn't let those plants ruin it. Without waiting for instructions, the Chandelure spat out a blast of periwinkle flame.

UH OH, the next turn of events was something Niko did not want to see again. True he was super amazed that the long awaited Dunsparce had finally appeared at last, but the two shadows that followed after it spelled trouble.

The Bellsprout that fled the scene earlier came back with a buddy. What's worse is that they're both so angry, they started to whip their vines on the clueless yet adorable Dunsparce! They're probably most likely angry that no one wanted to catch them!

Niko cringed when he saw the angry Bellsprout whip his vine against the defenseless Dunsparce. It rolled over one and curled up trying to stay alive. There was a red mark near his tail... No wait. That's not a mark.. that's blood.. The trainer dug into his pants pocket and took out a band aid. Quickly, he rolled forward and grabbed the shivering pokemon by his tail and stuck the bandaid over the wound.

Feeling rather useless as he saw another whip launched at him, he backed away in case the pair of angries started to lash out on humans. Thankfully, a few trainers showed up and helped defend to blue and yellow lump in the tall grass..

Shaun chuckled at Joey's question. "If someone staged a Halloween event now, they're doing it wrong. It's completely the wrong time of year."

As they continued onward: the grass grew steadily taller. So tall that Salvo had the novel experience of being overshadowed by it. Shaun kept looking up at the grasses, wondering what had caused them to grow so tall. Were they perhaps related to bamboo?

Soon after a new pokemon came into view, one that wasn't attacking or causing mayhem: another Dunsparce! Not shiny, but probably not actually a Ditto, either. But before anyone could react to it, two of the Bellsprout from earlier showed up and not attacking. Well, that would not do, not when the group finally found a real one. The only thing to do was to defend it, and the best defense is a good offence.

Shaun may not be much of a battler, but he knew the basics. He pointed towards the Bellsprout and said, "Salvo, use..." then paused when he realized Joey was still on his pokemon's back. "Um, you might want to get off now. It's probably not safe to be on a pokemon's back in a battle. Even if the Bellsprout seem very focused on the Deunsparce right now." He helped Joey off if needed, then continued, "OK Salvo, use Gust on the Bellsprout."

Salvo started fanning his wings, raising a light wind that was directed at the smaller Grass-types.

Juno caught wind of the situation a moment after her Pokémon, but she wouldn't have done any differently. "Yes, Desdemona! Will-o-wisp!"

The Chandelure spun out a trio of small blue flames to chase the Bellsprout down.

Shaun held on to his hat as Salvo continued whipping up winds. He wasn't quite sure why the Bellsprout were taking out their anger on the Dunsparce instead of the trainers, or even the pokemon that had already been caught.Perhaps anger just made people - and pokemon - irrational.
