Still munching on the sandwich, Ryou kept reading about Roxannes' pokemon. "Geodude's weaker than Nosepass" he said staring at the book thoughtfully "I think we're gonna have to train even more before we challenge the gym." The nosepass apparently knew rock tomb and apparently it was it's strongest attack. Ryou glanced at Mihiro and Yuri. Both were eating happily and chattering to each other. I really don't want them to get hurt, the boy thought looking back down at the book worriedly.

Ryou finished up his lunch and stood up "How about one more battle?" he asked Mihiro and Yuri. Both pokemon chirped and nodded and he smiled. He picked up the pokemon's food dishes and threw away his own sandwich wrapper. As he turned to his pokemon he was suddenly struck with an idea. "Hey Noctis do you think you could sniff out a fight?" he asked kneeling down in front of the poochyean. Noctis yipped. Ryou stood up and watched as the puppy pokemon sniffed at the ground. 'arroof!' Noctis said before taking off. Ryou motioned for the rest of his party to follow him as he took off after Noctis.

Ryou ran after Noctis before stopping as the poochyena turned tail and ran between his legs "What?" His answer came after another Ralts jumped up at him. "Okay so I guess we found our next battle" he said "Yuri let's go!" The Lotad gave a noise of affirmation and jumped in, ready to battle. "Use Astonish!" he said, surprising himself by how easily he remembered the attack this time Huh apparently the training wasn't just paying off for the pokemon. Yuri did as told and it was an instant KO "Good job!" Ryou said smiling at his pokemon.

After the battle, Ryou decided he wanted to see more of the city. He kept all his pokemon outside their balls, since he remembered hearing from trainers back in Blackthorn that they didn't like staying inside for long. The boy could relate, he hated being in one place for too long. "Let's go this way" he told his party as he took a left around the local pokemart.

Walking around the city, Ryou found himself running out of things to do before he had to head back to the city. It was starting to get boring, being stuck in the same place for this long. Hadn't he gone on a journey to avoid this very thing. But I'm not stuck here, the boy thought kicking moodily at a rock, I can leave if I want. That makes it different than Blackthorn. Looking around, the boy's eyes landed on the gym. Back home in Blackthorn sometimes people were let in to watch battles, even if they couldn't participate. Maybe it was the same way here?

The gym as it turned out did allow a limited ammount of people to watch the matches. Sitting down with his pokemon above the arena, Ryou watched in awe as the newest person to challenge Norman walked up to the arena. Kai was watching intently, as was the rest of the party. Ryou was surprised to notice even Noctis seemed to be paying attention. No wonder it's not the second gym, the boy thought staring at Norman's Vigoroth.[i] I don't think even Kai could take this on. As if being able to read his thoughts, Kai shifted uneasily next to him, eyes not leaving the stronger pokemon.

Ryou watched in awe as the battle wrapped up and finished. He was floored to say the least by the skill the trainers had shown. "Do you think we'll ever get to be like that?" he whispered to Kai. The Fraxure gave a determined 'Kai!' He found himself exiting the gym with a bit of a thoughtful look on his face. "We have a long way to go before we're like that" he said looking at his party "how bout we find another battle? Seeing the Gym Fight maybe gave us an advantage!" The pokemon cheered and Ryou started off to train once more.
It wasn't long before they found a wild wurmple. Ryou sent out Yuri, since he would be his main pokemon in the first gym battle. "Use Astonish!" he said smiling when the pokemon obeyed. With the battle behind them, the little entourage headed back to the pokemon center.

Before bed, Ryou took out one of the books from the library. Rather than read about Roxanne and her pokemon again ( or just rock pokemon in general-apparently they were tied with grass types for the most weaknesses and had the lowest speed which...didn't make them any less scary to him.) he chose a story book he had checked out on a whim. He laid down with his back to Kai looking in surprise when Mihiro, Tsuki and Noctis all curled up beside him. "Oh do you guys want me to read to you?" he asked encouraged when the pokemon all chirped happily. "Okay" he said then began "In a far away land called Cresselia-"

Lunch looked more like Dinner the closer Uhroa got to Petalburg City. The lights of the city still a ways off in the distance, the young boy had defiantly underestimated the length of the route vs the length and pace of his legs. He was so used to being driven from point A to point B he didn't realize his endurance was this bad. By the time he'd reached the Pokemon center, Uhroa had to take a minute to collect himself. At one point he'd taken off his sweater and was tugging gently at the collar of his turtle neck. The sea breeze cooled him down a bit as he rested, with the sun fading over the horizon it was likely to get cooler in the night. "I'm starving." Uhroa mentioned after another moment. Straightening up he took in a deep breath, then proceeded into the Pokemon Center.
After a quick dinner, he and Pivot made their way to their own room. Pulling out his phone, Uhroa scrolled through his messages. Most of his lackies were giving updates about kids who were 'acting up' since he wasn't there. Uhroa scoffed at this. "While the cats away the rats will play." he replied in the group chat. A slew of messages followed asking him where he was and what happened. No doubt it was disorientating to them as well with the brains suddenly missing. "The most I can say is all of you would be jealous if you knew where I was." He replied. "Anyway, keep'em in line as best you can, but don't go overboard. I'm not there to smooth things over with the adults. So don't do anything stupid." Uhroa added before sending an additional 'talk to you later.' Switching over to a text chat with his brother, Uhroa typed up a quick update to his location and how he and Pivot were doing. Of course Uhroa didn't want to seem like a baby in front of his big brother so he left out how he was already feeling homesick and exhausted from walking all the way from Littleroot to Petalburg. Reohyeon was quick to reply with a 'Good luck! Your Hyungnim believes in you!' To which Uhroa shook his head at. Only to him would Reohyeon be caught dead talking like that.
After a few more moments of scrolling through the internet, Uhroa eventually placed his phone on the charger and set an alarm before crawling into bed and quickly drifting off to sleep.

The next morning Ryou woke up early and headed out. He wanted to make the most of the day, and train again. He grabbed a cup of tea from the food offered at the pokemon center and (after a look from Kai) a pastry for breakfast. "Let's go guys" he said letting out his party. He was starting to get more familiar with them all. He had found last night that Noctis loved stories, but that Mihiro and Tsuki were the first ones to fall asleep. Stepping outside, he looked around. The sun wasn't quite up yet, and there weren't a lot of pokemon around.

Ryou found himself a bit disappointed as he was unable to find any pokemon around to train. "Guess it is pretty early" he thought walking back to the center. The boy didn't really have much of a plan outside of training for the day. He had already seen a lot of the town (and was starting to get restless tell the truth) But he found that he didn't want to be outside that much either. Entering the center, he sat down and occupied himself with sending a message to his mother about how his training and journey were going. He didn't really notice when Noctis took off. Noctis for his part had been sniffing the air before his eyes focused on a trainer with green hair. The little puppy pokemon padded over to the boy before sniffing at his pockets.

Rising from his bed, disgruntled, Uhroa quickly crawled out of bed and turned off his alarm. It was early morning, the sun was just about peeking over the horizon. Stretching out his body he quickly went to take a quick bath and brush his teeth before scooping up the still sleeping Pivot into his arms. Like a zombie walking, the young boy made his way to the Pokemon Center's cafeteria, pulled by the delicious scent of breakfast being prepared for the worn and torn trainers. He didn't even notice as a small creature started to follow behind him, sniffing at the air. Why it had been drawn to Uhroa specifically was beyond anyone's guess... Regardless, Uhroa finally noticed the pooch when Pivot jostled from his sleep and began to point out the canine. "Hmm?" Uhroa gazed downward with a tired look. "Oh." He knew this Pokemon.
Grabbing his food, Uhroa found a seat, happy to see the Poochyena had followed him. "You gotta owner?" He inquired having half a mind to try using a Pokeball on it right then and there. Offering it a piece of Pivot's Pokefood Uhroa's gaze lifted to find a Lotad seemingly trying to sneak it's way over towards them... failing terribly. Even if he ran to risk of that being another trainer's Pokemon, there was a strong disdain in Uhroa's mind for the Lotad line. "Shouldn't of left it unattended." He muttered under his breath as he used his other hand to tap Pivot's side. The grass-type gazed over at his trainer before it took notice of the Lotad. A sleepy grin crossed the Snivy's face before it leapt from the table and quickly tackled the Lotad knocking it out instantly. Seeing as no one rushed over to the aid of the Lotad he figured it wasn't anyone's Pokemon. Though it wasn't but a few moments later that a Blissey appeared and seemed to be frustrated with Uhroa. The boy simply grinned then turned his attention back to offering the Poochyena more bits of Pivot's food.

Keeping his gaze on the kid, Uhroa stiffened his grip on the butter knife he'd been using to cut up his omelet, only to realize once the kid scolded the Poochyena that he must be the pooch's trainer. "Of course not." Uhroa replied with a mature tone. Loosening his grip on the knife he placed it and the fork in his adjacent hand down on the plate. "By older brother has a Mightyena so I'm fan of their evolution line." Uhroa continued. Though his gave off this polite demeanor, the truth was Uhroa didn't find this kid all that impressive looking. Kinda reminded him of the dweebs he and his lackeys often picked on. Even still, having a Poochyena at least earned him some respect. "Noctis was his name? I like that name." Uhroa added.
Ryuo forced himself not to fidget when the boy turned eyes on him. He had never been really good at approaching kids his age...he had never really approached kids his age actually. Usually, he was content hiding out in some library corner ( or well...content enough though he couldn't help but wish he had talked to them in the long run) Behind him, Kai tensed for a bit. Ryou patted the Fraxure on the head which seemed to calm it. He felt relieved when the boy said Noctis wasn't bothering him. Noctis sent an imploring look at him and Ryou felt some of his anger ebb away. He had just been scared about losing him and if he wasn't bothering him... He listened as the boy said his big brother had a Myghtiena "Mightyena...that's what you evolve to?" he directed the last part to Noctis who gave another affirmative yip. "Oh you have an older brother? That's...that sounds nice Ryou was an only child so he had no idea what growing up with a sibling might be like. He smiled when he said he liked the name Noctis. "Yeah that's his name it..I think it fits him" he said moving over to scratch Noctis behind the ears which the puppy pokemon was incredibly pleased about "You know cause they're out at night" He glanced at the boy...who had a pokemon with him. "Hey, what kid of pokemon is that?"
