Huey followed the familiar trail towards the train station, hugging the sidewalk to keep away from the crowds. Taking the train from here would lead him to Castelia, which was the home of the third gym leader. He'd have to do a bit of back-tracking, considering he only had one gym currently, but it'd give him time to train in between. Speaking of training, out of the corner out his eye the boy watched as a Drozee ambled towards them, but before he could react Rags split off from the group to take it on, instantly it out in one move.
"Good job, Rags," Huey commended and giggled when the Scraggy puffed out his chest in pride, though his eyes widened and he quickly pulled his 'pants' back up to rejoin his trainer, taking a tight hold of his hand just as a rather large wave of people came forth from out of the train station; he wasn't going to lose this one. The blonde raised a gentle eyebrow but didn't question his pokemon's odd actions, and instead moved off to quickly buy a ticket.
One of the nice things he enjoyed about Goldenrod, besides being the city he'd been born and raised in, was just how quickly the train came. Huey waited approximately two minutes for the train before it came. With his pokemon in tow, he boarded the train and settled down into his seat.

It was clear the Ice wanted to keep on and keep frozen but Gio was unwilling to give up on it. She couldn't go on with this forever. "You underestimate our resolve Whitney" he threw another Lava Cookie at his freezing Steel Type. "Here you go buddy don't you give up on me" this second use of such a valuable item was going to cost him but he refused to lose twice to Whitney. If if he had to use Lucario he would risk the outcome. That however was his final ace in the whole and he didn't want to have to have Lucario fight unless absolutely necessary. Not after what happened last time

Whitney ground her teeth as Gio kept fighting their ice with lava cookies, suggesting that she underestimated their resolve. "And you underestimate ours!!!" Whitney roared, her lickitung continuing his stream of ice. It was a battle for sure now, but a differen't kind. Just how many lava cookies was Gio willing to spend trying to thaw his steelix? Whitney told him already that the large pokemon was just too easy to freeze up, what made him think a few lava cookies would make a difference. They would just keep the ice on afterwards, slowly wearing away at the steelix's health until it fainted or was somehow able to break out of the ice on it's own.

The calm and collected spark that was consistily seen in Gio's eyes was slowly deteriorating and it was all because of this Ice Beam attack. How has the Lickitung not frozen its own tongue off with as many as it had shorten in a row? It wasn't fair to keep putting his Steelix in all this torment and he knew Rusty wouldn't be able to keep it up much longer. He let his hands drop to his sides, and took a deep breath as his head fell. He looked up at Whitney"Fine you wanna see me take this serious?" he asked speaking as calm and low as possible "You got it" he lifted up Rusty's Pokeball and returned him. He then reached for his Metang's ball "Normally I would say the mind games are just beginning but you've pushed me beyond that point. So now all I say is, come on out Metang" it sounded much less enthusiastic than normal and even Metang who normally came out of its Ball dancing was not doing so. Instead it floated over to its Trainer seemingly wondering what was going on all the while waiting for its attack orders to come through.

It looked like Gio was finally starting to take her advice. That giant steel snake wasn't going to de-thaw fast enough to get a move out. They were too fast, and it was too slow and heavy. Now he was starting to take this battle seriously, though his choice of pokemon was interesting. What made this metang his ace? What did he plan to do? Trying to freeze a lighter, faster body like this one wouldn't work as well as it did with the Steelix. Normally, Whitney would have tried anyways because Ice Beam was their most powerful attack, however the situation changed. Metang was not only steel type, but also psychic, which meant Knock Off would deal a lot of damage even though their attack had been lowered. "Hmph. Alright, let's see just how serious you are. Lickitung, use Knock Off!" Whitney commanded. Happy to get a break from using ice beam constantly, lickitung ran towards the metang eagerly and whacked it with his tongue. It was risky, not trying to freeze the steel type. Choosing this course of action guaranteed that the metang would be able to land a hit, but lickitung was weak, and dealing this much damage while they could was worth the potential price, in Whitney's opinion at least.

Gio's Metang awaited it first attack. Which one would he command though? He needed to take down this Pokemon before it caused anymore issues and that's just what he was planning on doing. "Alright Metang Take it Down" no witty comment and hardly any emotion. Gio didn't like it at all but it was better than losing his tempor. The Steel Type Pokemon lurched forward knocking into the Lickitung causing them both to take damage

Take down landed an expectedly hard hit, though it did some damage to the Metang itself as well. Not enough to knock it out, but it at least had some recoil. Lickitung was down for the count now though. Rather than getting mad however, Whitney smiled. This defeat, she could accept. "You did great Licki-kins~ Return for a good long rest." She nodded, shooting the red beam of light from his pokeball and returning him for now. "Clefairy, it's your turn now!" She summoned the little pink fairy pokemon and shot a smile at Gio. If he was going to keep his pokemon in, then she was going to have to use encore first. Take down was a strong attack. In all honesty, Whitney would have preferred encoring something weaker, but that attack damaged the metang itself, and she really couldn't risk it using a steel type move to play the effectiveness against her.

It was finally Yachi’s turn to take a run at a slightly weaker Pokemon. The Drowzee definitely wasn’t as tough as the Pokemon in the National Park so Toru would let his newest Pokemon take a run at it. It was close, but Yachi’s Torrent Ability turned it around at the last minute. He decided he would take another trip to the Pokemon Center before carrying on with his journey.

Whitney had expected Gio to stick with his metang, not switch to a mega lucario. It took her by surprise, and it moved so fast that clefairy had no time to react when the poison jab landed. Before she knew it, the battle was over, and she hadn't been able to do a single thing to fight after such a spectacular comeback. "Wh..... WHAT?!" Whitney stammered. Where had that lucario come from?! It overpowered her own pokemon in a heartbeat. "Y-you... There's no way! You cheated!!!" She yelled angrily. "I won't accept this. I won't!" She turned on a heel and stormed off through a door, slamming it behind her before Gio could stop her.
Another girl thankfully approached Gio from behind, tapping him gently on the shoulder. "Sorry, you'll have to forgive Whitney. She's... Not a gracious loser. Don't worry, here's your badge. You've earned it, Whitney would agree with that once she's been given some time to calm down. I think she actually really enjoyed that battle. That's the most intense I've seen her get about battling in a while." The girl smiled politely, handing Gio the badge, and then also pulling out two disks to give him as well. "Here, take these too. I'm sure they'll serve you well. You uh... Might want to leave now before Whitney heals her pokemon and demands a rematch." She suggested with a chuckle, waving before turning to leave.

╔═══════════════════════════════════════════════╗ Daichi had been training hard around Goldenrod. He was gearing up to begin to head back towards Violet. During his training he had met and captured a powerful Pokemon. A Scizor, a powerful addition to his team that would give him the edge against many new types of Pokemon, she fit well with his team so far and was looking forward to seeing how Saeko would work in battle. His training was going well enough and he had also come across two rare items, a lucky egg, which would help one of his Pokemon get a large boost in the experience they would earn from battling. And a Balm Mushroom that would help one of his Pokemon learn a powerful new move. Either way he was looking forward to what he would be able to accomplish. With his spirit renewed he began to plan for his battle against the regions first leader, the aging bird trainer.

With no particular destination he was looking to round of his team with a sixth Pokemon. ╔═══════════════════════════════════════════════╗ He figured that he should head off towards one of the other regions to try to catch another Pokemon. He would be spending enough time in Johto that he would take the chance to dip off to another region and see some other sights. It was fairly lazy to do as he would probably not train half as hard in another region but at the moment that really wasn’t any of his concern. He wanted to avoid getting lazy but he also knew there was a difference between resting and being lazy. His overintense training had caused them to steamroll the first gym leader of this region and that showed that they did indeed deserve a break. ╠═══════════════════════════════════════════════╣

╔═══════════════════════════════════════════════╗ Once again he found himself at the train station. Unsure of what region he should head to he figured that he knew Hoenn fairly well. Mauville City was one of the destinations the train from Goldenrod travelled to and not far from there was a town he had been to numerous times with his parents, Verdanturf. A town said to have the cleanest air in the Hoenn region, so he decided that he would set that as his next destination, he wanted to go and clear his head before he decided to get back into training and the clear air seemed to be just the way to do that. With his hands behind his head he waited in line to get his ticket to the Hoenn region.
