Even though it was only spring there seemed to be a flourish of folk from all over hording the beach. Jon raised a brow, didn't people have to go to work around here? Making a connection in his brain, the brunette remembered that he still had to find a job himself! He loudly groaned to himself in annoyance, he had a PHD in Quantum Physics! What was he going to do in a place like this? Work as a store clerk, as if. Jon could picture his parents all but disowning him for settling for less. The man sighed before propping an elbow onto the table and resting his cheek in hand. Who knew moving to a new place where you knew no one would be such a trifling task. Maybe he'd try to get a job at the hospital, though he wasn't sure he was "qualified" to be a doctor of any kind. And he was also pretty sure that no one in the field of science would hire him after the debacle his family had caused in his old home. That job as a store clerk started to sound more and more appealing with every passing second. With a light exhale through his nostrils, Jon decided to revisit the topic after finishing his delicious smoothie and cooling off in the water. After all it wasn't like he was in financial crisis or anything. Maybe he could become a starving artist, performing parlor tricks with his powers and making people stare in awe as he makes a coin float in his hand. With a light chuckle, Jon took a sip of his smoothie.
The male wasn't expecting anyone to come to him today, so the sudden voice near him made him practically jump out of his seat. Without thinking, his smoothie was propelled upwards from his brief moment where he lost his sense of self, somewhat like a jack in the box. Jon scrambled at the air until the cool drink was back in his hands, awkwardly laughing to try and play it off. Looking at the woman now in front of him, Jon tilted his head. He didn't know her so why was she- His hoodie? At this point, Jonathan looked very confused for multiple reasons. He gingerly pulled the collar up, looking down at the article of clothing then up to the woman. "U-...Uhm... I bought it at a...mall?" He stated, still unsure if he was being pranked or not. Though he wasn't exactly lying, though the thin hoodie wasn't the cheapest thing he'd ever bought it was from a mall near his old home... in a designer store. Just the thought that he was casually wearing this snapped him back to reality and how much of a p***k he would look like if he was being honest. But he wasn't wearing the hoodie for style...He had his other reasons. "Anyways! Is that a way to greet someone?! I almost dropped my drink!" He exclaimed, folding his arms like an upset child. The limits of the possible can only be defined by going beyond them into the impossible...

xxxxWasn't really there... 】 Like a slow motion replay she watched in serenity as the styrofoam cup all but flew of its own accord. She rose a dark eyebrow in response, the man clambering quickly to grab onto his- She quickly sniffed, one short inhale flaring her nostrils. Strawberry drink. She was getting the hang of this, but the dorning blenders in the background were starting to annoy her. More on a conscious level than not. And with being a high school teacher for several years - she had learned to drone out the annoyances. This, however, was becoming difficult. She snorted, leaning back onto her heel. The rubber sole gave way, pushing as far as she could against the tile floor before she tossed her teal gaze into his. The mall? Did Soleil have a mall? She was aware of Uptown for the “fancier” clothing in comparison to Cerise or the antique store downtown, but… She pondered, crossing her arms beneath her chest thoughtfully. The town wasn’t small, but it wasn’t entirely massive either. Her mind flitted back to her friend. Maybe she would know. She had grown up in the state and visited the town since she was younger. She exhaled, shifting to her other foot with an amused expression. ”Hardly, I suppose.” Though she couldn’t say she would walk up to a stranger and offer her hand out. Maybe something of, ‘I like your shirt’ would have made him a little calmer.
”Victoria?” She tipped her chin towards one of the staff behind the bar, holding a drink out and peering her green eyes around the room. Swiftly she walked to the woman and managed a quiet thanks before making her way back to the man, turned to the side as her lips played against the tip of the straw. ”So what, do you want dinner and a walk on the beach for me to ask you where you got your shirt from?” She snickered softly. Hakem would have her a** for even joking the idea of a date with another man. Dominant. She rolled her eyes internally. How many small spats had they gotten into now that she was feeling the authority take over? She rolled her shoulders one at a time. They didn’t ache - but she still felt antsy. A dark mixture crept against the straw as she peered over her ruby spectacles at him. She shouldn’t have brought them. But she didn’t realize she had until halfway to the beach from Doux; and carrying both those and sunglasses was proving to be bothersome. 【 ...It was made up in your mind.xxxx

Maybe she grew up in a rough town or something, was he overthinking things again? His cool gaze watched as she made her way to grab the drink that was called out for a "Victoria". What a fancy name for someone who seemed so up-front. "Victoria eh? Do your friends call you Vicky?" He teased as she walked back, smirking to himself. Jonathan lightly rocked on the stool as she obviously took a jab at him. He didn't think she'd be an idle flirt but then again looks can be deceiving. But he couldn't exactly explain his circumstances without things getting estranged for him. "Well I do hope that you'd treat me before trying to strip off my clothes." He said with a light chuckle. His gaze flicked back to the ocean waters, watching a few people play around in the sand. Jon cracked his neck, part of him wanting to jump into the water and cool off. The brunette turned back to Victoria and tilted his head, taking a sip of his smoothie. "So what brings you out to the beach on a day like today?" He asked curiously. The limits of the possible can only be defined by going beyond them into the impossible...

"No." Her response was swift and dismissive. "People that do tend to taste my shoe in their mouth." The implication was more or less a taunt - but she relished it with the slightest of playful tones. Vicky was a name she despised. Tori, absolutely, she had somewhat passed it around herself, as... Unique of a nickname it had been. But Vicky? Her brows furrowed inward for a quick moment and she swallowed the fruity mixture with ease. She tapped the edge of her gym shoe against the base of his stool, testily twisting her ankle to see how well it would give. Maybe a threatening measure, but she was playful nonetheless. "Ah-ah." She responded, peering at him with a relentless stare. "It's not very gentleman-like to only ask for a lady's name and not offer your own." 【 ...It was made up in your mind.xxxx

Azumi was walking down along the beach with the sun beating down on her. Thankfully, she had her hat on which was not only concealing the cybertronic node on her head but also kept the sun from shining into her eyes. The warm temperatures were also not helping and felt like she was about to overheat. However, this was a relatively normal thing for her. From being hot on hot days due to the jacket she wears all the time out in public to prolonged exposure to cold. Either way, she's learned to deal with it. What she hasn't figured out how to deal with though is the fact that everyone gives her strange looks whenever she's walking around with her jacket on while it was cold out. She shook off the numerous looks and stares and decided to duck into a smoothie place nearby to rest for a bit. She walked over to an empty seat near a window and sat down before looking at the menu.
