Eripse watched, while she mused atop a building. She wasn't a threat anymore. Through the scope of an empty sniper rifle, she watched, playfully even pinpointing the one who had confused her for a Harpy... Indignant huff, before she would change oncemore, shifting into the bigger beast, and launching from the roof, before hitting the ground and walking forward, slowly turning a sheen of Inky silver. She would ignore anyone that attempted to stop her.
A voice, slightly tinny with the new form spoke smoothly. "How about you and I put aside our differences and you do what you do best and I do what I do best?" Her voice was exasperated. "We have the same goal, you and I. Let's start acting like it."

Eripse "How about you and I put aside our differences and you do what you do best and I do what I do best?" Her voice was exasperated. "We have the same goal, you and I. Let's start acting like it." "I already told you what the deal was, I won't repeat it. If you want to do something go to the R.I. building and help out the survivors, I don't have time for chit-chat."Enemy Because Red's fireteam now had one hundred cyborgs and synthetic humans headed in her direction, while Dorian's fireteam had fifty. "Cannon fodder. Let them come," Red whispered. They would reach the end of the allys eventually, no resistance along the way for them except the piled remains of their own fallen comrades in the narrow alleys. As the first wave filed out of the allys, Red waited, only for a few seconds, as the hidden C-4 charges sat under and around the center of the charging enemy position. Boom...Three openings into the road would explode extremely impresively, at the same time, R.I.O.T. opened heavy fire on the advancing enemy, downing anything that escaped the explosions. As R.I.O.T. was firing from the cover of buildings and the hopefully disorganized enemy was in the street, it would be very hard for the enemy to avoid or even return fire. For all their prosthesis, they were extremely inexperienced versus her squads. The fire-fight might turn out one-sided and end quite quickly considering how it was set up. Spectre and the Javelin's were held in reserve, with the Helo continueing RECON and ECM. Red's shoulder was getting tighter by the minute, she would have to have it looked at once this was over.

Well the only thing about that was that they weren't as stupid as they seemed. The first fifteen members of each incoming platoon were decimated, but the rest took notice of the explosion and turned in an entirely different direction. Some of them took flak from the covered positions and went down, but the rest were left intact.
From their own cover, the three impromptu commanders with thermal vision pointed upwards. Sure, they couldn't go down the alley... but they sure as hell could go over it. So while some began laying down suppressive fire, a few prosthetics began... climbing up the buildings, behind the cover and unseen for the moment. Brick and concrete cracked underneath their hands and feet as they dug in, scaling upwards in order to get a better position.
As soon as they did so, they noticed someone with them. A... thing in silver. Such a shiny thing with those six individuals? It became a threat, and thus a prime target. Some however were more concerned with opening a path for the rest of their forces.
So they reached a compromise- they fired on both of them from the roofs. Three teams of five, consisting of three riflemen and two grenadiers. Basically, their safe postion was no longer safe, and Eripse was being blasted by 40mm grenades.

Prime Target? Niggar plox. As the grenades came in promptly, she'd unfold wings of steel and shift them forward promptly, creating a gust of wind that would impede the stone-sized projectiles, slowing them so they fell short.
Ignoring Red now, she would rush forward, aiming for the buildings that the beasts scaled, wings neatly combing back to her back. The first building she would shoulder down, bursting into the alley-way through the corner, reducing structural integrity before plowing through the opposite building. Reckless, but that was what she was good at.
Distraction, Berserker... Prime Target? Always. She could only hope that Red would take her offer, even in hindsight.

As for the roof tops, it was too bad that the buildings across the street were already compromised by the C-4 in the alleys. Her squads had left some on the load bearing beams inside the warehouses and any building that faced their position from a critical vector. Yet another explosion, and the buildings would fall, not much risk any civilians being around this area tonight.
The long tails at the back of Re'd hair were heavy, but her arm was heavier as she took out her rifle and shot at the skulls of those who had survived the collapse and moving to another position.
The enemy was charging the street, nothing too heavily armored so...... she called in the Spectre to make a strafing run while their was an opening.
That should cut their damned numbers a little.
She took cover behind a steel beem for a moment, clinging to her ruby pendant with her injured hand as the sounds of heavy gunfire filled the street ahead of her squad's basic position.

THOOM
Eripse came charging through two entire buildings, further reducing their structural integrity. A few unfortunate stragglers who had deemed it safe to go charging down the alleyways were in for a world of pain as they got caught up with the massive force that swept through the area.
For a moment, the teams on top lost their sense of balance as the edifaces were rocked by the incoming freight train. And on top of that, something else blew up... All three buildings were brought toppling down, not only disabling those up top, but doing some serious damage to those who were still around the base of the building as it came down.
Enemy Count: 60
And then, it happened.
"Cover fire. Roger that."
The M134 Miniguns equipped on the Spectre tore through enemy lines like a hot knife through butter, throwing their organized ranks into confusion again. The three enemies with thermal vision didn't see what was coming until it was too late, and when they did, most of the forces had already been scattered.
Enemy Count: 35

Fortunately for Gareth, the explosions and shrapnel were all occuring behind him...well, fortunate for his sense of self-preservation, that is.
Gareth: "Ah damn...the office has to be this way."
...yeah. With disgruntled muttering under his breath and the shrapnel-scarred road beneath his feet, he continues on his way through the combat-torn streets towards the law firm where he can claim his inheritance...an inheritance from practical strangers. Gareth's previous good mood from innovating a piece of technology is wearing off, slowly being replaced by thoughtful consideration of his parents...obviously something was wrong.
Gareth: Damn...why? Why'd they abandon me? And why'd they leave me everything if they abandoned me?!
His slouch grows more pronounced as he sinks further into his thoughts and trudges onward...

Her firing squads would come out to play for a few more seconds, picking off the remaining enemy with their rifles while they were still confused. She helped a little, taking down one with her revolver, moving to another window, and firing again at the first oppurtunity. If she had half a minute she could take five or six down on her own, and that was playing it cautious.
She was cold, soaked, and her shoulder hurt. The rain was still drenching the city streets in the darkness. When the lights went out, the city was pitch black, but that served to create more hiding spaces, both for the enemy and herself, only she knew how to make better use of it.

By the time half a minute was up, those who were equipped with thermal sensors were neutralized, further reducing the enemy's effectiveness. Basically, they couldn't exactly find cover at this point... and the other half of the minute was spent taking out hostile targets.
By the time it was over, only twenty targets remained... and those that were left were on retreat. Where they were headed was anyone's guess, but the square was secure for the moment. It was her choice whether to leave them be or have them continue pestering Raven Industries, and the city that they claimed to protect, for some other day...
She hadn't rescended the order for that strafing run yet. A proper run was not one pass, but two... The Spectre was on its way back around again, still under stealth. Noticing that their opponents were vacating the area, a transmission went through.
"We got 'em on the retreat, Captain Redra. Pursue?"

"Pursue," she said. "Terminate as many possible."
The order would stand until it was inconvenient to carry out. Her teams would move now, chasing the retreating enemy. Prisoners was not an option, as these guys likes to blow themselves up too much.
In the Gaian army, this stratagy wouldbe tantamount to a war crime, but she wasn't in the Gaian army. She wanted to see a safer world, one in which a family could live in peace, and sometimes peace had to be acheived the hard way.

"Copy that- no one leaves intact."
For all intents and purposes, Red's thinking was sound. No matter what the rules of war were, giving your opponent a chance to retaliate in the future was not entirely the best way to go about things... Besides, she had a point. This wasn't the Republican Military. She was part of an organized, well-trained force, sure... but they only cooperated with the government, and were not a part of it.
The strafe continued, and all twenty of the remaining hostile contacts never saw it coming. In less than two minutes, they were all deactivated and neutralized.
After another full minute, there was another transmission from the helo.
"That's all of 'em. The square is clear and the building is ours. We will now proceed towards the building for resupply and refuel. Spectre out."

When the town of Aekea finally came into view Reinhart turned to Disa and broke the silence.
"What've you been doing to keep yourself busy?"
It was obvious there was nothing more than what she'd just saw before they left int he forest. Had there been Reinhart would've dealt with it and left another rotting corpse for someone to find. How long had it been since they last saw each other?

Answer: A few years. But who was counting? "The usual... surviving. I did happen to get caught up in some weird fight to save the world." She wouldn't talk much about that, she had met interesting people, but she also had blood on her hands. "What about you?

How could he follow up on that?
"You know what? I got nothing, there's nothing I can say that'll compare to a battle for saving the world."
After he'd spoken he laughed lightly. Had it really been that long? No wonder she seemed a bit different than before, it'd been years....

Disa chuckled lightly. "I kind of got roped into it, it wasn't something I planned."
