"It has been several years," Miyuki nodded in agreement, "We didn't sail directly here, we stopped at Amon Darthir before heading to Caras Galadhon, and then we stayed there a year. So... I think between the traveling and the stays, it's been a bit over three years already."
When they got to the clearing, Miyuki could easily make out her brother, but he wasn't moving from his crouched position.
"Andarien?" Miyuki called out once they were within eye sight.

Andarien peered over his shoulder when he heard his sister call, and he was clenching his teeth tightly, grinding them together.
"Can someone give me a hand?" he growled through his teeth. "Kaito did something to my arm."
A look of pity crossed Shoneah's face, and she stepped forward to help. "What happened?" she asked him, kneeling down next to him. She coaxed him to let go of his arm so that she could look at it.
Andarien flinched. "I don't know. I finally thought I was doing okay and then he touched my arm and it stopped working and it really hurts."

"And of course he didn't tell you what he did or why," Miyuki added with a sigh.
She should have figured as she hurried over to Andarien to take a good look at his arm. Unfortunately, she didn't know a thing about injuries, which meant either they went to find Cael (or Lancerial) or they went to the clinic.
"If I helped you up," she bent down beside him, "Can you stand?"
It was hard to tell, even though it was just his arm, he was clutching it.

"I can stand," Andarien muttered.
"May I take a look at it?" Shoneah asked softly, looking between the siblings. "It may be a simple nerve ..."
Andarien glared at her. "Do I look like I could stop you?" he retorted.
Shoneah blinked, taken aback by his tone despite the fact that she knew he was in pain.

"Andarien," Miyuki softly rebuked her brother.
Kaito must had really put him into a mood, more than just hurting Andarien's arm. Though even Miyuki would admit it was hard to tell what would set him off.
"She was asking for permission to touch you, she wasn't suggesting anything about your ability to stop her. Silverbirch is only trying to help."

Andarien looked away. "Sorry," he growled. "Go ahead."
Shoneah hesitated a moment, then reached for Andarien's hand. She straightened out his arm, which made Andarien grit his teeth even harder, and touched a few places on it gently. Then she nodded and pressed on a few different spots. Suddenly Andarien gasped, and then he stared at his arm, his eyes wide behind his goggles.
"Is that better?" Shoneah asked softly, looking at him.
Andarien made a fist and clenched it slowly, then opened his fingers. "Yeah," he breathed, his tone filled with awe. "Thanks." Suddenly he blushed and averted his eyes. "And ... sorry for snapping on you."

"What did Kaito do?" Miyuki asked Shoneah.
She figured whatever Shoneah did, it was the opposite of what Kaito did. Miyuki didn't doubt that the neko knew exactly what he was doing.

Shoneah glanced at Miyuki, taking a step away from Andarien.
"There are points on the body - pressure points - that when the proper pressure is applied, certain things happen," she explained. "Sometimes a limb becomes useless. Sometimes excruciating pain is inflicted. Sometimes both. It's something we were taught when we were young, because they require almost no strength, and if you can disable your attacker, you needn't fear their skill with a weapon."
She turned back to Andarien, though she seemed more guarded now, wary of speaking directly to him anymore. "Restoring the limb and removing the pain is as simple as re-applying pressure to the same points."

Miyuki thought about it, and thought about what could have been conversation leading up to the incident. She actually had heard of pressure points in passing, but this was the first time she had ever seen the effects of one.
"Do I want to know what Kaito was doing before he did that?" she asked him finally.

"Complimenting me on finally doing well at something and saying he had something new to show me," Andarien grumbled darkly.
Shoneah smiled despite herself and shook her head slowly. "Hoowanneka all over again," she murmured to herself in her native dialect.

Miyuki sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose. Of course, she should have figured that, that was part of a lesson plan. Though she had no idea why Kaito thought it was a brilliant idea to show Andarien and then walk away without a full explanation or even without helping Andarien.
"Of course... so I guess that means your new lessons will be about pressure points," Miyuki murmured, "Kaito sure likes to make things difficult."

"That he does," Andarien agreed sourly. "Why can't he keep it simple? Swords are hard enough!"
"Would you like a chance to meet him on equal grounds?" Shoneah asked Andarien softly. "Instead of allowing him to do this to you, do it to him?"
Andarien looked at Shoneah, intrigued. "What are you thinking?" he asked her cautiously.
Shoneah smiled. "As I said, I know about pressure points. Where they are and how they affect a person when they are pressed. I can teach you. It will give you the opportunity to get him back the next time he tries something like that on you."

"I would say take it," Miyuki replied, "Kaito does mean well, I think I understand why he wants to introduce it. If you get attacked before you can draw your sword, or worse yet, you don't have your sword, you won't be completely defenseless."
She emphasized about not having his sword, because they were both weaponless when they were dragged out of that cellar back when the General caught them. It was why Miyuki did want to learn some offensive magic, in case she was ever caught without her stuff again.
"But," she added, "Kaito has to learn not to pull tricks on people and leave them."
Though for all she knew, maybe Kaito knew this might force Andarien to learn, who knew?

Andarien nodded his head in determination. "Yeah, I'd like to learn it," he said positively. "Kaito needs to learn that he can't just do whatever he wants with me."
Shoneah smiled faintly. "Well, I feel it only fair to warn you in advance ... the best way to learn about the pressure points and their effects is to experience them firsthand, so these will be rather painful lessons."
"As long as you don't leave me, like Kaito did," Andarien scowled. "Jerk."

Miyuki chewed her lower lip, she wanted to giggle, mainly because it was true that Kaito could be a bit of a jerk at times. Not that he meant to, it was just his sense of humour was a bit off at times.
"Well... why don't we head back to camp since this particular lesson is over," Miyuki suggested, "You could even show Sliverbirch your smith tools, apparently she does some as well, mainly for her bullets."
