Those damn Pidgey's just couldn't leave him alone. Also Artemis scaring most of them into him probably didn't help. He had to plant his feet so he wasn't knocked down from the wave of birds that flew away from her. Laz held on tight to him as they were buffeted by the birds.

The duo were hit again, this was getting extremely ridiculous. "Augh! Come on Spirit, we better try to run for it." Cara said. Spirit hummed in agreement and tried to weave her way through the throng of humans and battling pokemon. This was so not how she expected the day to go.

Damn these Pidgey, they were all getting in his way. He tried to just cover his face and push through them but they were definitely stopping him from moving forward. He was going to make it there damn it and he was going to chill in the basket until enough people got in that they could leave.

They finally made it past one by dodging. "Well, it worked once, lets try again Spirit." Cara looked to her Vibrava who nodded in determination. She wasn't a glutton for punishment so dodging seemed logical when the head on approach of attack didn't seem to be working. The two took off again, attempting to weave their way through the mass of creature and human.

Cadence was starting to get worn out from fighting off all the pidgey and it looked like Amaryllis was too. If something didn't give soon she wasn't sure they would even make it off this airship.

Yusaki had just been sitting down to eat, finally having calmed Korou down. And then the announcement came.
She stood up, rocking back and forth a bit from the sudden movement, "Korou! Let's go!"
The Mightyena and trainer scrambled up onto the deck, scouting for the hot air balloons.

As Cara and Spirit were trying to pass a trainer and their pokemon, a Pidgey swooped down from behind and pecked them. The two cringed, ducking to try and get away. "Guess we should try and fight again." Spirit hummed back and flew off, starting to fight the birds again.

With a hot balloon in sights, the pair scrambled across the deck, deftly avoiding the attacking pidgeys. The deck was in chaos of course, which made Yusaki have to focus especially hard on keeping track of the balloon's location.
"This is so unusual! Why would they attack the ship?"

Hit once more, they decided to keep fighting. Spirit fought back with Signal Beam while Cara fought back with whatever she could find, mainly just her fists which were becoming sore. "We are gonna need a vacation after this trip..." Cara muttered under her breath. Spirit nodded "Brraava!"

Yusaki, so focused on her goal, missed the warning as a Pidgey divebombed her face. She flinched back, as Korou reared up to bat the obnoxious bird back from her trainer.

George struck out and pushed some of the out of the way as he heard a couple fall due to Laz's attacks. She had to be getting tired but he was only a couple steps. "Just a little farther and you can rest. We can do this Laz."

Beaten, battered, and bloody Cadence and Amaryllis were nearly slowed to a standstill as they continued to fight their way towards the balloons. Why wouldn't these birds just move along?

Korou's paw connected, sending the Pidgey spinning away. She let out a triumphant howl, fluffing her hackles up in challenge of the rest of the flock of birds.
Recovered from the surprise, Yusaki wrapped her hand in Korou's ruff to steady herself.
"Good job girl!"
They resume their advance towards the balloon.

George had seen his opening after his last push and rushed forward hurdling the side of the basket and dropping down into it. He wasn't sure where Koorie was but he was getting safe so he could relax with Laz. As they passed the large birds that had finally left a small window for them to pass through, Laz made the hole a little wider hitting a couple of them with hypnosis making it a nice easy entrance. "Told you I was right behind you." He smiled and looked around, "Now we just have to wait for the rest of the people to get in here."
