The area was as desolate as before. But hope shined through the far away house. And He decided to hurriedly make his way there, although he was still trying to regain some of his strength. He doesn't feel as tired as before, but his steps were small and slow.

And he continues to make his way forward, slowly but surely. The warmth of the blessing is shining closer to him with each step. Renewing his energy and making him smile to himself softly. He is full a the warmth of emotion known as joy.

And the warmth was getting even brighter. His mouth quirking up into a bigger smile. And he continues forward, moving slightly faster than he has been. His energy is a bit higher than it was before, and he feels better.

As Rojand returned to the platform, a train came screeching slowly in at the platform. If it was the one he had ridden on, he couldn't tell. It might be a different train. Grimly, he started the mechanism again and jumped into the train.
He couldn't tell what made the train grind to a halt this time, but even prepared for the possibility he couldn't hold on adequately, and he landed on his shoulder, sending a hot spike of pain down his arm.

He's finally back up to high energy and he hurriedly makes hi sway for the gift shop. The warmth is nearly embracing him. Just a few more steps before he can gain that blessing.

When Rojand managed to get the train unstuck from whatever invisible, intangible snag it had stuck on, cursing, he shoved it back to the station bit by bit. He was sore and exhausted, but he wasn't going to let this ******** roller coaster defeat him.
When he hit the button this time, there was a clicking sound and an electrical hum, but the train didn't move. He shouted wordlessly with frustration, kicked the podium, and stalked off to slump down against the wall of the shelter, breathing hard and hauling his anger and frustration under control. It was irrational, he knew, but he was offended at it, offended that the ******** thing had broken before he could break it himself.

When he unfolded himself from his angry huddle and went to see if he could figure out why the button had stopped working, Rojand found that it was working again. Maybe his kick had shaken something loose or wiggled something back into place, but when he pushed the button again, experimentally, the chain lurched to life, and he was surprised enough that he almost missed the chance to jump in as the train rattled out onto the tracks.
It jerked to a stop again before even hitting the first curve, and he tumbled out, sore and cursing furiously.

He makes it right up to the door step. But then pauses for fer that this entire warmth was nothing but false hope. He stands in fear that this is exactly what it is. His hands shaking as it reaches out to the door knob.

His hand clutched the door knob and twisted it open slowly. And there it was waiting for him. The blessing that he was searching for, and it felt so warm. He felt full of brilliance.

One more time, Rojand told himself. One more time. If he failed he'd slink off to lick his wounds - metaphorically, of course - and nurse his pride. The coaster started. He jumped into the train, braced himself for the inevitable jolt and fall.
The train rattled tamely through its course, slower this time, completing all its curves, and slowed to a halt in the shelter on the other side.
Rojand got out and scowled at it, inexplicably offended again by its failure to do what he expected it to do.

Rojand stared at the broken bulk of the swings, the tangle of metal and wood and the glint of broken decorative grass in the weeds. There was no other way. He wasn't even sure why he was here, why he was doing this.
He climbed, setting his hands and feet carefully, watching for jagged edges and treacherous footing. A seat broke under his boot halfway across, and only a wild grab at a thankfully intact chain saved him from a fall into a jumble of twisted metal beneath. He stopped to breathe. Opened his eyes again. Kept going.
The chainlink fence on the other side was an easy climb by comparison.
