Unless there's an iPod out there that can hold over 500GB of unlicensed anime, I think I'll stick with my DVD burner...

penguinism Alright, here is what i have on my shelf. Beatles, elton john, south park sound track, abba, Disney, Lion King, arrogant worms *oh i suggest looking them up* Weezer, simon and garfunkel, Moulin Rouge Sound track Ah, well, more of the above would be a good place to start. I've got some Arrogant Worms, seen Sir Elton in concert, as well as two of the Beatles. Hmm... With the Simon and Garfunkle and elton john, you may like James Taylor, Gordon Lightfoot, Carly simon, carol king, billy joel, crosby stills nash and young. There's a lot more good stuff along these lines. Of course John Lennon's fun on his own, and you cannot pass up pink floyd. I'm kind of partial to led zeppelin too. Anything listed in my profile is good. Some of my friends really like Guster. *Shrug* I just got over a Concrete blonde addiction recently. >.> Everyone needs some EDM(ebm)(evm)whatever. Industrial, electronic, techno. I love it for when I'm in a bad mood and just want loud stompy noise. Deffo look for some punk while your at it. I wouldn't want to step on Pilbo's toes here, so I'll let him recommend anything in this genre. I love anything Celtic, but that's another post entirely. I will probably think of more, eventually.

Koalachan Devils Dandy Koalachan Devils Dandy I am a consumer whore too, mate. Besides, an Ipod is cheaper than a new computer, more useful than a second harddrive, and holds more than a cd. Justified. A new hard drive i can use to store my anime on. Nothings really more useful than that. Can do that with the cds too. So theyre multi-purpose You can store it on an ipod too. And you can't watch videos on a cd. I can when I put it in my laptop But here we come to the problem where I don't have a laptop, and the iPod is still cheaper than a computer. You can watch video on it as well. Where as I cannot watch it directly from a cd. Or cd player. And the fact that I don't like anime XD

Sure but why would you want to watch a video on a tiny iPod screen? If you're going that route you might as well get a PSP, and then you can watch actual movies and play games.

Because I'm not much of a gamer, and I'd prefer the music anyway. I don't watch TV or movies, but with an iPod I could if I wanted to. And because it'd be a convenient way to transfer music from my home computer to work.

Oh sure, cause paying $299 for something that does a few things half as well as much cheaper hardware is a real bright move... rolleyes

Meh, I'd be getting the more expensive one actually, I'm willing to support Apple, as a company. And it does more than enough of what I want it to. (Read: Store my music collection so I can free up space on my computer) Trust me, I've looked into what I need, and what I want. I do NOT want games. I am not concerned with having a web browser.
But,
Thank you for the recommendation. It and your sarcasm were duly noted.
