"Hey, nice to meet you too. I'm Officer Cameron West." the cop replied with a nice smile. He looked over at the office nearby and chuckled. "Lucky you, eh? You get the office right next to Detective Fredrich Waltz! Guy's a scary one, barely smiles."
After enough fidgeting, Cecil managed to escape Cameron's grip. "Don't make up rumors, Officer West." he grumbled while dusting off his uniform.
"More of a fact than anything, sir. I dare you to tell me the last time he smiled." smirked Cameron. When the chief replied with silence, Cameron laughed and looked back at Sawyer. "We don't usually get a lawyer hanging around the precinct. We get plenty of prosecutors hanging out with detectives for evidence and all, but none of them have an office here. What's the ocassion?" he asked as he crossed his arms.

Cameron smiled sympathetically when he heard Sawyer's tale. He himself had only met the chief a couple of times, but both times made good impressions.
Cecil, however, felt his frown thin when he heard the story. He was aware many people hated him here because he couldn't fill the first chief's shoes just yet, but he had no idea just how big those shoes were until now. Nor did he know how much of a hard worker Sawyer was. It was almost enough to get his respect.
The officer of the trio tensed up when he heard the mention of an assassin, but he did well in covering it up. "Yeah, but this is the Nightingale we're talking about. Every detective in every town wants to be the one to nab that hotshot. I bet he's busy fighting off another detective as we speak." he laughed before hearing the next question. "Yeah. Apparently he's a hotshot himself, but I haven't known him long enough to know. He and Detective Waltz are at their throats a lot, so at least you'll get some entertainment with them."
"Lock Han is his name." Cecil answered. "A senior at the local high school. Despite what anyone might say, he's actually not bad. He's solved a good amount of cases the other detectives couldn't. Recently his friend, Eun-Ho, has filled in for him, but that should be ending sometime soon."

"He's paired up with Detective Waltz, so even if Lock were to cry Waltz would slap him out of it." Cameron said half-jokingly.
"He's been a detective for about five years." Cecil informed. Before he could say anything else, a deep voice cut through everything like a butter knife.
"Is there any particular reason I'm being gossiped about?" Both Cecil and Cameron turned to see the tall detective dressed in black and wearing a stern expression on his face.
"There you are, Freddy!" Cameron smiled, addressing the man with a term of endearment.
"Cameron." Fredrich nodded in acknowledgement. Despite how friendly Cameron was around him, Fredrich still gave off an air of mystery. True to the cop's word, the man didn't smile, he didn't even show signs of being friendly or kind. His dark blue eyes glimmered and stared through anyone who saw them pointed at them. It was as if he was always interrogating someone, and he could probably pull out a few secrets just by glaring at them.
Fredrich nodded again at the chief that was half his height before finally turning his attention to the new male. "Sawyer Loupohl, I'm guessing?" he mused.

Fredrich met Sawyer's gaze easily, faint amusement barely making it out of those dark vortexes behind his glasses. He wasn't sure what the man was doing, giving him such a strange look, and he didn't care. When asked about the files, he waved a hand dismissively. "My files are not stories to read, Mr. Loupohl. Unless you have judicial business with them, I can't allow that, retired detective or not." he answered as he placed his gloved hand on his hip.
"Besides, we've got more important things to work on." Cameron said with a devilish smile on his face. "Like karaoke!" he cheered.

"Yeah! Well, Fred and I are going, at least."
"When did I ever agree to go?" Fredrich drawled.
"Just now." smirked the officer before looking back at Sawyer. "Shift's almost over, so we figured we'd go somewhere to unwind from the day. You guys want to join us?" he offered.

"It's just like going to a bar." assured Cameron as Cecil handed Sawyer a key. "The drinks are half off for people that sing, though." he said with a wide grin.
"I won't go." Cecil said. "I've got more important things to do."
"Yeah, right." scoffed Cameron. He swung another arm around Cecil's shoulders and pulled him close. "You can afford to loosen up, you know. What's the worst that could happen, eh? We'll all be too drunk to care about who sings right, and even then I doubt any of you could sing worse than Freddy here."
"Careful, Cameron." said Fredrich in a steady tone, though it was clear that he wasn't amused by the joke. "I might just have to arrest you for ***** vein pulsed at the side of Cecil's head. "What's that supposed to mean, Detective Waltz?" he snarled.
