____________________________________________________________________________________________________________B L U E A z ʊ ℓ ✖ Ϻ ι я α c ℓ έ M I R A C L E_______________________________________________________________________________The longer the Empath talked to this woman, the more he began to realize the exhaustion creeping over him, though it took him s moment to understand it. Eventually he had his full weight leaning against the door frame, realizing the enchantress becoming more out of breath the longer she spoke. He eventually remembered that the collars limited slaves' powers by a great deal, if not completely. Some of the really powerful creatures here still retained some ability, it seemed. Though he probably would not have remembered if Sarashay had not mentioned something on it. "Understandable. The accessory that is suppose to act as tailored labels I understand also act as limiters for non-human beings in this place." it wasn't until the older brother heard and ecstatic laugh that he realized his eyes had drifted to the woman again. Eyes traveling to the tiny figure in the sunlight, he realized what the sudden burst of excitement was: the water had turned into a giraffe. "Raindrop, look, look! It's a giraffe!" she giggled, smiling a wide delighted grin, all teeth, at the both of them. The male simply nodded his head and smiled.
Now Azul stayed quiet as Shay, more or less, explained herself, inquiring about his business here as she did so. He tucked a lock of hair behind his ear absentmindedly, revealing one of the markings on his face as he thought, mulling over her words in his head. 'A pooka, huh. I've never heard of that kind of creature before. I wonder how old she is. What I'm looking for? Am I looking for something specific? A nanny, I suppose would be a good reason. I don't believe that's quite... The empath was quiet for a long time, taking her words into consideration, one phrase at a time.
Azul did not speak until the water rained back into the vase. Mina gasped as it suddenly morphed into a butterfly and fluttered away, frozen until it was out of sight. "A big sister, I suppose. Someone to fill the mother role for them, as I fill the father role even though I'm their sibling. They need proper parent figures, even if they are substitutes. Maybe you could teach me a few things as well; I suspect you are much older than you appear. Women are naturally better with children anyway, it seems." Mina rushed over to them, crashing into Sarashay and wrapping her arms around her waist, as high as the would go. "Oh, Raindrop, can we keep her? Can we, please?" Then, remembering her manners--some of them, at least--she looked up at the enchantress. "Will you come home with us? Pleasepleasepleaseplease." she begged, chin tucked against Shay's stomach. Being so young, she didn't really understand the difference between animals, humans, and the crosses, and that technically it wasn't normal or morally right to own a person, or that there was anything wrong with it at all. Not that she saw the woman as an animal, simply someone who was bought as a pet rather than the one who bought them; like it was her job or something. Azul stayed quiet, two sets of different shaded eyes meeting with the darkest set of blue orbs in the room.

x x Courage isn't having the strength to go on ~ ~ it is going on when you don't have strength. ──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── "I'm sure we'll find someone here, lady," the golem reassured her, as they entered the mansion. He fell silent when Rayen spoke briefly with the mistress of the estate, ensuring she was allowed to go find someone, and then kept close at her shoulder when she took her leave and walked down a hallway. "Should we be looking at the dangerous ones?" he asked, nervous for her own safety. The young woman looked over her shoulder up at the golem and nodded.
She looked a bit frightened, but wasn't going to back down. "We need someone dangerous," Rayen said softly. "I'll be careful. I won't get someone out of control, but getting someone meek isn't going to do us any good and you know it, Eysteinn," she reminded him. The golem nodded, clearly displeased but not going to argue with his mistress over it. It had been enough of a challenge to get her to agree with his plan to start with, he wasn't going to make her change her mind now that they were finally here. So he patted her head gently and followed her down the hall until they reached a door she paused in front of. The emotions in the building were overwhelming to the young empath and she shut her eyes to try to concentrate and focus on something, anything, that might help direct her.
Looking at the door as she opened her eyes, the golem moved in front of her. "This one?" the large male asked, seeing her looking at it. The young woman nodded and he returned the gesture. There was someone behind the door, something, that called out to her stronger than what else she was feeling from the other rooms. It seemed best to try this one first, although Rayen had no idea what or who was waiting behind there. For all she knew, it would be someone who would scorn her and throw her out. But she had to at least try. Eysteinn knocked and gave whomever was inside a few minutes before knocking again and opening the door. He went in first to assure her safety, stepping aside and letting his mistress walk in after him.
Rayen looked around for a moment before her eyes rested on the bright resident of the room. She smiled faintly, taking note of the colors and charms, and seeing he was more dangerous than she had anticipated. "Hello. My name is Rayen," she introduced herself softly.

And when the hurt comes there's an argument, a fight to save a smile. A small attack on human tears to dry them for a while. ▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ ❈ Sara listened to the older brother as he spoke, but her attention was fully taken by the laughter of the young girl in the room. "And I didn't think there were any giraffes in this building." She mused to the child before going on to explain herself to the older brother. Again, she couldn't really take her eyes from the water with her powers growing weaker than they should from a simple water trick. It took more of her concentration than she would have liked to admit to even hold the simple form of the water. ❈
❈ After her words ended, the room was quiet other than the laughter of the girl until the butterfly that it had morphed into showered down on the flowers. A mother figure, hm? She hadn't played one of those roles before, because she had never been needed to play mother. There had always been one around. Sara understood the need for parental figures, and was more than happy to at least try. It would get her out of this place, at least. "Not naturally good with children. For me, it's that I was abandoned... I never wanted that for the other children in the orphanage that I grew up in and I took over the role of the 'mother hen', if you will. So... Some parents, even mothers, are not naturally good with children. I just happen to adore them." She said to Azul with a smile, turning her blue eyes toward him before Mina slammed into her and wrapped her arms as high as she could around her. ❈
❈ Her smile turned warm, caring and peaceful as she turned her eyes to the child, letting her hand brush the locks of silver hair on the top of Mina's head lightly as she talked to her older brother. After a few minutes, she turned those light blue silver eyes up to Shay and she could only smile at the girl. "I would absolutely love to come home with you, Mina. I could show you other things that magic can do, not to mention that I would love to meet Kii and Aki, if you will have me." Even though it stung a little to be talked about like a toy at the store, she knew that children were children and not many knew the evils that this world came to bare. She turned her eyes over to Azul, directing the 'if you will have me' toward him rather than Mina. ❈

[ ' Till | I'm | B u r n i n g | On | The | Inside ] | Sℓαʋє |No time for goodbye he said, as he faded away Don't put your life in someone's hands, they're bound to steal it away. This is my last time, she said, as she faded away. It's hard to imagine but one day, you'll end up like me. ~ ♥ [ If you want to get out alive , ] _____『 Dark magenta irises stared out the window unblinkingly, watching as strangers entered, cataloging their features and tallying how many came out with a new face and how many left empty handed. So far today everyone had gotten what they came here for. The dragon had to start a fresh scoreboard, as his keepers had not been very happy with him last week. There were small scratch marks for every merchandise sold, longer ones for the window shoppers. He'd marked up the wall next to the window, though this only lasted a couple of hours. He ended up spending an hour in the basement bedrooms--or rather, the 'punishment' bedroom--for every etch in the wall. It had lasted a couple of days; the room still smelled of fresh paint when he returned to it. Being in the underground wasn't so bad. It meant that at least ridiculously rich people did not have the opportunity to even consider the audacity of 'purchasing' him. The mere thought of it made the dragon bristle.
So now Ruby had a wooden chair with it's back to the window straddled between his knees, sitting backwards in it so he slouched against it, folded arms pillowing his chin. The restroom was nothing compared to the natural hot springs back at home, but it was decent. Even now, as he sat in a simply black shirt with three-quarter-length sleeves, black jeans with a leather belt to match the confounded restriction fastened around his neck. His sense of time faded away as he remained unmoving, dragon wings outstretched slightly behind him, stiffly poised in the air and barely drawing shy of the ceiling. The biological sorcery or magic that was part of his race--and all of his kind, and probably all other shifting 'magical' creatures--did allow him to compact a 724 lb. mass into a form 1:13 scale in size, approximately. The presence of the dragon body part materialized did raise his temperature by two thirds, causing his dripping hair to dry much faster than usual. Though he was stuck in this semi-transformational phase that only older dragons seemed to be able to accomplish.
The only thing that moved now was his eyes as they tracked two figures ascending the stairs leading towards the entrance of the mansion. It was a man with pale blond hair and emerald green eyes, a petite brunette fashioned in dark colors following his suite. Ruby paid them no mind as his eyes returned to the bottom of the staircase when they vanished from his peripheral vision. It didn't register to him that someone had been knocking on his door until it opened with an audible click, semi-quiet to the lucidity of his limited human hearing. The dragon startled out of his trance with a blink, talons at the top of his wings scraping the ceiling on a twitch. The rest of his senses flooded him, though it wasn't as refreshing as it usually was considering they were all dulled. At the sound of heels, Ruby lifted his head, twisting his torso to face the door and see the woman from before standing in the doorway. He could see the other figure, the inhuman male with olive tinted hair standing behind her. He rose from the chair and turned to face her, cherrywood eyes glued to the crystal clear orb that gazed back at him, blinking several times when she spoke. He felt colder for a minutes, his flushed skin paling as all of his body parts returned to human state. Clearing his throat, "Kane. Mi'lady,"he responded, tipping his head slightly. Being ancient creatures, dragons had old traditions, like being respectful in the presence of a woman, especially one of equal status or higher power. It took him a moment to remember that this woman looked at here viewing the subjects as merchandise, as the rest did, and even longer to figure out he was so entranced because it recalled the image of waters in the cove reflecting off his mother's diamond scales. 』 [ Oh run for your life . ][ If | I | G o | I | Can | Only | H o p e ]

x x Courage isn't having the strength to go on ~ ~ it is going on when you don't have strength. ──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Oh. She hadn't expected this. Rayen's eye went wide in surprise when she saw the massive wings sprouting from the man's back. Trying not to stare, she didn't quite manage it, but did her best not to look at him like he was some object to be gawked at. His introduction and slight bow caught her off-guard and she stammered for a minute, unsure how to react, before nodding her head in return. She'd never gotten the hang of curtsying. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Kane," she told him with a small smile, finally regaining some sort of composure as she took a few more hesitant steps in. It was enough for Eysteinn to follow and shut the door behind his mistress, keeping a careful eye on the slave. He saw the sort of collar, and the colors, and was worried for her safety. Whether or not the man could use magic wasn't the issue for him - physical strength alone could easily incapacitate them both from a creature as old as this, though the golem was not so easily killed. He was naturally suspicious of anyone and everyone when it came to Rayen's safety and made no effort to disguise how carefully he was watching the other male.
Taking a breath, the young woman went over and stood near a chair, clearly not wanting to sit and assume her place in this room. It was a personal room, at least, as personal as it could really be. And she didn't want to earn his enmity somehow, dragons were notoriously...territorial? Touchy? Stingy? She wasn't sure what the word was. Seeing his mistress give him a pleading sort of look, the golem nodded and took over for the moment. Their manner of interacting was strange, especially to an outsider that would assume he was merely a servant or bodyguard. His role was more of a father, or a protector, than merely one keeping her safe. Walking over to her, he pulled a chair out and nudged her into it. She sat like a proper lady, ankles crossed, legs tucked a bit to the side and underneath the seat, hands clasped on her knees. Her back was perfectly straight and the only fidget, the only noticeable one anyway, was her reaching up and tugging on her bangs, making sure they were covering the left side of her face as best they could. She didn't want the dragon to stare. Most liked pretty things, or at least that was what she had heard myths about - their treasure hoards and the like. If he thought she was ugly, he would be sure to ignore her completely.
"My name is Eysteinn. I am my lady's golem," the male introduced himself with a brief nod, in case the dragon wasn't able to figure out what he was from looking at him. "We are not here for a slave, exactly. Rather, I believed this would be an easier way to acquire someone with the skills we need, rather than hiring someone whose loyalty would be in question," he continued, making it clear it was his idea to come here rather than Rayen's, who looked a bit uncomfortable. Shrugging a bit, the golem crossed his arms over his broad chest. At almost seven feet in height, he was an imposing figure even when he was a friend. "Although I understand that loyalty from a slave is asking quite a bit. Many are too proud to give it to a master. But you would not be treated as such and once the situation is..." He trailed off, unsure of the word to use.
"Resolved," the nephilim suggested helpfully, a soft voice amidst the golem's deep rumble.
He nodded agreeably, liking that word. "Resolved," he repeated. "Once my mistress' situation is resolved, you will be given your freedom and may do as you please." Privately, Eysteinn was hoping to find someone that would stay in the end for his mistress - hence his insistence they look for someone with a heart, as incongruous as such a charm seemed with what they were looking for. A killer with a heart, a slave who would give honest loyalty to someone who bought them like property. Someone not broken, but someone obedient. A seemingly-impossible mixture that made the golem fear he wouldn't find anyone at all. But this dragon seemed...well, he was the first one they'd spoken to, so if he was not the right one, there would be other chances. But he'd startled Eysteinn, showing his mistress any respect at all, and he wanted to take that as a promising sign.

Help me find who I used to be... Anistasia Whyte ... And save me from what I have become
Anistasia was almost asleep and her sobbing died down, not hearing the sound of someone approaching her room until the door was knocked on, making Anistasia tense and cover her mouth to silence her sobs. She didn't answer. She waited for the person on the other side of the room to go away but instead of footsteps moving away from her room, the door clicked and opened, making Anistasia curl into a tight ball and close her eyes. She growled slightly as the door opened and then tried to relax and feign sleep. She sniffed the air brought in with the intruder and grimaced at the scent of a human close by. There was another scent though. It was similar to a human's but held the scent of something else... Some kind of beast; a feline.
Anistasia flinched under the covers at the voice of a male, hesitating before she pulled the blanket away from her only enough to show her head and neck. Anistasia was still naked and didn't want the man in the room to see her. Her eyes glared up at him, showing no traces of trust. "I'm fine," she finally managed to reply. Anistasia mentally cursed her voice for revealing more than it should have. It was quiet and dry from her sobbing and the girl cleared her throat before glancing down, pulling the blanket closer around herself. She sat up slowly, holding the blanket to herself to hide her naked form but when the blanket slipped down to reveal her shoulders and collar bones, it was clear what Anistasia was lacking. She glanced at the female by the door, wrinkling her nose at the scent of the human. Maybe the other girl looked harmless but appearances were deceiving. Anistasia was a prime example of that. One moment, she was an innocent looking girl; the next moment, she was a merciless beast on a battle field. Shuddering at the thought, Anistasia hoped that the male in front of her and the girl at the door passed that off as Anistasia being cold. She didn't need anyone to see through her and read her feelings. The wolf quickly numbed her mind, pushing any unnecessary feelings and memories to the back of her mind.
"What do you want?" she growled, her true nature very apparent in her tone.

Averting his eyes from her face, Kane did not respond to her kind words, eyes flitting to and away from her face again at the hesitant smile she offered. The look he gave the other male was not a friendly one as the golem circled the room, stepping aside to let the woman--Rayen--have access to the chair. She certainly did seem uncomfortable here. He was proud but he was not arrogantly blind; he could tell whose decision it had been to come here. He took another steps back to grant them room as the lady assorted herself in her chair. Again, he was reminded of the women of his kind where his home use to flourish. Ankles crossed, perfect posture. In this day and age, women sat like men, sometimes even sloppier. His eyes switched their attention between their faces every few moments.
His eyes quickly flitted to Rayen at her gesture, then back to the male as he started speaking. Crossing his arms over his stomach, Ruby remained silent as the golem began explaining their purpose here. He was silent a few moments before responding. "We are all well informed of who is in what position. Even if I were to be granted freedom, the civilization from which I come has been obliterated. Though it greatly displeases me to be here, I would be worse off than when you found me." The dragon stayed quiet for a minute after that, eyes using Rsyen's face as a focus point while he mulled it over. He could fight, as he often did with other dragons of his generation. He was not so skilled battling in mortal form, though he possessed the knowledge of several hundred years worth of battling techniques and strategies.
Processing the little bits of information and the skills required, the task. "The details of the situation are irrelevant. However, I do require this knowledge: Who is the enemy, who is not, when permission is required to attack. I need to understand what kind of problem this is before I can estimate how long it will take to complete this task. Supply me with these and the necessities for basic living, and I will agree to your terms."Ruby's eyes had transferred to the golem, Eysteinn, as he spoke, returning to the mistress when he was done. He could not tell how these people would treat him, but he was fairly decent in deciphering the ways of people, able to calculate the perimeter of their true nature on first encounter. This golem, he was not sure of, but the woman seemed of a quiet nature, maybe not an easy foe, though if she wasn't then why would she need protection? Perhaps she would not give him any trouble, though he could not say the same of her male companion; he would have to see. 』 [ Oh run for your life . ] [ If | I | G o | I | Can | Only | H o p e ]

x x Courage isn't having the strength to go on ~ ~ it is going on when you don't have strength. ──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── It was disconcerting, how the dragon was watching her face so intently. Was he trying to see what was under her hair, marring her skin? Or had he already and was staring at it? Self-conscious and nervous, Rayen did her best not to fidget and listened when Kane spoke. His home was gone? Her heart sank, as she knew all-too well what that sort of feeling was like, and did her best not to flinch under his gaze when it returned to her face. Eysteinn went to answer his questions, but Rayen held a hand up. It was hard to say it, but even harder to listen to what had happened. And perhaps he could tell her sincerity from her words, at least, she hoped that would be the case. "My family had an estate that was in our possession for many years," she said, her voice soft. "There was a tribe of kobolds that decided they wanted our lands as hunting grounds and attempted to drive us out. My family retaliated and it escalated into a war." Although she did not think her family at fault, Rayen wished there had been some other course of action they could have taken. "The kobolds have powerful shamans, skilled in black magic. They attacked one night and murdered my mother and the rest of the house. My father fled and Eysteinn saved me from further harm." As it was, she was the last of her house and it was a heavy burden for her to bear. The memory of watching her mother die flashed in her eyes for a moment and she shuddered.
"You will not need permission to attack," Eysteinn told him, as she did her best to compose herself. "I and my mistress are the only ones you are forbidden from harming. Anyone or anything that attacks her can be freely eliminated. My lady is the only one you need concern yourself with." The golem's words were not arrogant, simply factual. He could take care of himself and Rayen could not. "As for how long it will take...we do not know. We are attempting to garner sympathy to get aid to drive the kobolds off the land, being unable to do so ourselves. But it is a complicated process." He sneered slightly and shook his head, having little respect for bureaucrats and their ilk. Most wanted nothing to do with the situation, claiming that they had simply lost a turf war fair and square. But the massacre of her house would be avenged, one way or another, and traveling to see her family's old contacts - both of business and personal nature - was tiring and dangerous. Eysteinn could not watch everyone every second of the time and needed someone to provide protection when he might not be able to. So far he had not failed, but did not want to let arrogance be his mistress' downfall. He found it curious the dragon didn't leap at the chance to earn his freedom, but perhaps he simply didn't believe that he would have it. No matter.
Rayen cleared her throat. "You may have whatever you wish. I do not plan on keeping that collar on you once we leave here, nor do I believe in keeping you like a caged attack animal," she told him, her tone quiet, but firm. "You will have your own things and privacy when I can provide it." It was the best she could offer at the moment, having already planned on taking him shopping after this to get him whatever he needed, as she knew little about this entire process other than that she had to pay for him like he was a souvenir. Well, that was how it worked and her instinct told her she was making the right choice, as naive as that sounded even to her. He couldn't be trusted, he was a stranger, after all. Yet Rayen didn't fear him, though he made her nervous looking at her. "If that is all acceptable to you, then I hope you're willing to come with me," she continued after a minute, giving him time to process it before folding her hands in her lap again and waiting patiently for an answer. She was in no real rush, feeling quite secure behind the strong magic of the estate, and there was no danger save what she might create for herself.

____________________________________________________________________________________________________________B L U E A z ʊ ℓ ✖ Ϻ ι я α c ℓ έ M I R A C L E_______________________________________________________________________________Azul winced as he felt the waver in the woman's heart from Mina's words. "I can relate to that. I am only their half brother. My father.. died, and I don't believe our mother quite recovered. Since my step father was always busy tending to her, I took care of Aki and Kii several years before I left the house. I just, already know I am not yet equipped to deal with all that raising a girl entails." Mina simply smiled and leaned her head against the Pooka's hand as she gently mussed her hair. Though before the male could respond to her inquiry, an erratic jingle sounded, cutting through the quiet of the air. "Uh oh," Mina mumbled, after several blinks from Azul. Pulling his phone out, an image of the four of them appeared on the small screen. It was either Aki or Kii. Most likely Kii did something mischievous and Aki did not know what to do about it. Flipping it open, Azul held one finger up, giving the woman an apologetic smile.
"Azul! You need to hurry home. Aki was running around my garden threatening to hack all the flora. He fell into the gallica bush and now the roses are damaged and so is Aki." In the back of his mind, the male wondered if Sarashay could hear him. She was inhuman, was her hearing better than a human's, as well? Most likely. "Did you take the thorns out and disinfect the wounds?" he asked. Mina gasped, head whirling as she stared at the phone, straining her ears to here now. Pulling away from Sara, she made gimme hands at the phone, jumping when her brother did not give it to her immediately. "Yes! But there's no more band aids and his shirt is ruined." There was yelling and complaining in the backround. "He's complaining a lot, says they really hurt. Azul, they're all over his back and arms." Sighing quietly, Azul closed his eyes. Kii was probably more upset about the flowers than his brother getting hurt, but he had taken care of his brother to the best of his abilities first and called for further instructions. This was why he was comfortable leaving the two home alone; Kii seemed to have adopted a higher level of maturity than his older brother, and had assessed the importance of his brother and his garden properly, making sure he was okay before fussing over the plant.
"There's some in the blue box under my bed. Give him three of the blue pills in there as well." Handing the phone to Mina, the small girl clutched the phone with both hands and began furiously questioning her brother as Azul turned to the pooka. "Uh, sorry. Um, yes. I do think that the boys would like you very much. I am also interested in seeing what else you can do. I'm sure you will make us all very happy," he said. Azul opened the door, guiding Mina out into the hallway--"Is it okay? Is he okay? Are you okay?"--then holding the door open for the enchantress, offering her a reassuring smile.

▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ I didn't think to bring a wash cloth and rub away the dirt. Myself and I we share this barely beating heart of hurt. And when the hurt comes there's an argument, a fight to save a smile. A small attack on human tears to dry them for a while. ▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ ❈ Sarashay smiled at Azul as he told her about his own experiences, but he was right. It took a woman to raise a girl properly, and even boys needed a bit of a woman's touch when it came to things. Mainly girls and how to treat them, but there were certain things that an only father could do, even if he wasn’t the actual father. Being a single parent was difficult. She'd learned that from the several people that she had worked for prior to be returned here because of the death of her last master, which she should probably have mentioned... "I would be--" An erratic jingling noise stopped her words as she looked around the room to see what it was. She'd never come in contact with such an odd noise and was confused by it until the older brother pulled a cell phone from his pocket and flipped it open before telling her to wait a moment with a finger. She nodded and looked down at Mina. In her human form, her hearing was only slightly better than a human's so the only thing that she could really hear was the sounds coming from the phone, and not really understanding any of the words. ❈
❈ As talk turned to thorns and wounds however, she became concerned and turned worried blue eyes to Azul as Mina gasped and moved from her to her older brother. As she made gimme hand gestures at her brother, Shay only listened carefully to what he said, trying to gauge the situation and how bad it was. As he handed the phone to little girl who began with a tirade of questions, Azul turned his eyes back to her. "Please, don't apologize. Family first, after all. I am looking forward to meeting them, but I do hope that everything is alright? As for my abilities... You will find out in time. And I will do my best to be everything you need of me." Sara said with a slight bow, a habit she picked up from working in rich people's homes for thirty years or so now. The Pooka waited until Mina was out the door and then waited for Azul, but he was holding the door opened for her. With soft words of 'thank you' she exited her room then waited for a moment so that she could speak with him about her previous master. ❈
❈ "Now that Mina is up there... I do need to speak with you about something... An incident occurred with my previous... employer, if you will, and he died because of me... But... My last master was a cruel man with cruel intentions. I wanted to warn you of this, so that when we got up there, someone else didn't tell you. I wanted it to be me to let you know. My actions were for my own protection and I do not regret them. If this makes me... Less suitable for the job, then so be it." After a brief pause, she decided to continue. "I would never harm any of the children, or you for that matter. The incident was due to... extreme circumstances and extreme measures had to be taken." She finished before going quiet, hoping this new information about her wouldn't be so off putting that he took her back to her room. But her words were truth and it showed in her emotions, the pain of the previous events almost making her shiver as she walked forward at his side. Even though he was dead, she was still afraid of that man. ❈

Where loneliness is history told to pack his s**t and leave. Where guidance is a fortune told to help in time of need. And where crying isn't secret, it's the art of how we grieve. ▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄

This is my last time, she said, as she faded away. It's hard to imagine but one day, you'll end up like me. ~ ♥ [ If you want to get out alive , ] _____『 Ruby was slightly startled when the woman spoke. As the situation had started, he had expected her to let the golem do all the talking. Though, as he listened, it made sense that she told him. It was her family, her story, and now they both realized that they had common history. The mountain had been their home until the villagers tried to kill them all. They attacked in the middle of the night and only a hand full escaped, scattering across the earth. Though instead of being saved by a kind heart, he had been captured and locked up. He remained quiet as she spoke, feeling a little more respect for the golem. Though only a little. Thinking about the knowledge given to him a little more carefully, he realized he did not know much about the creatures they had mentioned. He would have to collect knowledge on them first. Depending on their size, number, and level of ability, it was possible he could simply take portions of them out simply by battling in his dragon form. Even then, how cowardice were they? That would determine whether killing some would drive the rest away, or if he would have to kill them all. Eliminating them all would be the safest bet, but it was risky either way. There were the chances of not being able to take them all on, or the chances of them returning with greater forces, more powerful allies of their own. They would be prepared if that were to happen, knowing what they were up against.
The dragon kept his eyes on Rayen as the golem spoke, though not so much focusing on her face so much as the rest of her. The way she held herself, her fidgets, her clothes. "How are we approaching the situation? Diplomatically, or just configuring away to eliminate enough of them to drive them away, if not all of them?" He was quiet again, eyes refocusing on Rayen's face when she began speaking again. He realized that if her home had been claimed by ravenous creatures, she would not have a place to live. Did they stay at the golem's home? Eysteinn had said they were trying to seek out allies. Did that mean they traveled a lot, sleeping in places like hotels and things of the sort? It was probable. So a couple of rich people were here without a home to return to. At her last words, the dragon held in a sighed. If he did not plan to go with them, he would not be asking all these questions. Obviously she did not realize that. Looking her straight in the eye, he answered, "I will assist you. How have the two of you been living after the incident?"he asked, though directing his question more to the golem, it was open for either of them to answer. 』 [ Oh run for your life . ] [ If | I | G o | I | Can | Only | H o p e ]

x x Courage isn't having the strength to go on ~ ~ it is going on when you don't have strength. ──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── In all honesty, Rayen didn't want to assume anything, hence the reason she asked him if he was coming with her rather than simply assuming he was. She never made assumptions, as usually they turned out poorly for all involved. A faint smile appeared on her lips when Kane said he'd assist them, and the golem appeared pleased. Now that that issue was settled, she could redirect her worries back to - well, back to everything else. "I am attempting to resolve the issue through legal means, despite the fact that I have no reason to try," the young woman told him in a voice that was rarely anything but quiet. "Eysteinn would much prefer more violent methods, but I am not in favor of them for personal reasons, not if I can find another way. Besides, the estate and my home have already been destroyed...the land is all that remains and this is more a matter of principle and pride than anything now." Rayen didn't look pleased by that, but she knew it was true. She had to have her home back. Living like a vagrant, traveling from suite to penthouse to the occasional property in her family's name and back again...she hated it. All she wanted was her family back, but that was impossible. By getting rid of the kobolds and reclaiming her land, the land her parents refused to simply give up, she felt as if she would be doing at least something to make them proud of her. Well, her mother, anyway.
As for where they were living..."Right now we travel quite often, so I mostly stay in hotels and the like," she told him. "I don't like it, but it's easier. That, and..." Trailing off, she bit her lip. It wasn't hesitancy on her part to speak, but bad memories returning that she had no wish to remember, or talk about, even if it was necessary. Eysteinn cleared his throat and a relieved look crossed her face as she relaxed slightly.
"There have been several attacks on my lady since we fled. Staying in one place for too long is dangerous," he explained, giving another reason why they traveled so often. Even if they stayed in the same area, they never remained in the same place more than two nights. It was beginning to wear down Rayen, though, and he was hopping with someone else to protect her they could cut down on moving so often.

This is my last time, she said, as she faded away. It's hard to imagine but one day, you'll end up like me. ~ ♥ [ If you want to get out alive , ] _____『 At least he knew that he and the golem were on the same page about one thing: eliminating the enemy would be a much easier mean of banishing the problem. But he nodded his head at her reason and remained silent. She was also displeased, it was obvious, but it was even more so that she was not a violent person, and violence was most likely her last resort to anything. And now he knew, also, that they moved around a lot, never stationed in one place for long, no place to call home, nothing to return to. Though he realized they were moving around longer more quickly then was necessary. Unless... "Why do they pursue you?" he questioned, a look of confusion taking over his expression. Had it been the land they were after, or her family, entailing her? Shaking his head, Ruby reached up two his ears, pulling away two small circular scales, an iridescent crimson color. Though it had been cupped around his upper ear, it big enough to fit on small hands such as Rayen's. "I request that you wear this. It is from my true form, and in a way binds me to you. If you are to sense danger and for some reason I am not nearby, these will alert me immediately."The dragon held his hand out for hers, gently placing it on her index finger when she did. The matching one stayed on his other ear, keeping them in sync even in his human form. Dragons were a no-loose-ends kind of breed, so even though he'd barely been confronted with this problem, he'd immediately thought of all the criteria that needed to be covered.
Stepping away from the lady again, he began compartmentalizing the other problem at hand. There were several people in the world who preferred traveling everywhere as opposed to staying and settling into one location. Obviously Rayen was not equipped to live that sort of lifestyle, nor did she have any wishes to. The whole point of this was to protect her while she figured out a way to reconquer her land. Thinking it over some, "Now that you have me, we should be able to stay in each city for at least a week, perhaps two, depending on the number of attacks in each location. It is for you to decide how involved in this I should be, because if I see this correctly I am simply acting as a body guard until it is guaranteed there will be no more overwhelming assaults and the problem is resolved." 』 [ Oh run for your life . ] [ If | I | G o | I | Can | Only | H o p e ]

x x Courage isn't having the strength to go on ~ ~ it is going on when you don't have strength. ──────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────── Watching the exchange between his mistress and new new ally, Eysteinn smiled faintly behind her as the dragon put the scale on her hand. He wholeheartedly approved of the male's methods of keeping an eye on her so far. As for why the kobolds pursued her...he had no idea. Perhaps they liked to be thorough in their exterminations and were also hunting her father as well. Or perhaps it was the blood rather than the land they wanted, though he had no knowledge of any feud existing before his creation for the family. Whatever the case, in the end it did not matter, at least to the golem. He would simply kill anything that tried to harm her and follow her until the day he crumbled to dust. It was his purpose, his life, and he had no desire to do anything else. As Kane continued to speak about being able to stay in places longer, the golem nodded in agreement. "That is one of the reasons I wanted someone else to be with us," he told the dragon. "Moving every other day does us no good and ends up being just a waste of time."
Biting her lip, Rayen looked down at her hand as the two males spoke. The scale was warm against her skin, an almost-comforting reminder. As for how involved she wished him to be...well, his purpose was to be a bodyguard, she knew. But when she'd said he could leave once it was all said and done, he'd seemed to take offense to that suggestion, almost. At the very least, he'd said he had nowhere to go. So...perhaps he could just stay with them? Why he would want to, however, she had no idea and the idea seemed stupid to the young woman as soon as she thought it. No, he'd jump at the chance to leave by the time this was done. "Eysteinn, can you go pay? We'll meet you in the lobby in a moment," she told him, getting to her feet and straightening her clothing out nervously. The golem bowed his head and strode off, not before patting her on the head comfortingly. Once he was gone the nephilim gave him a faint smile. "Um, do you need to go to the shops for anything?" she asked him quietly, having thought he might be embarrassed to admit he needed anything in front of the golem. That, and she knew she'd have to learn how to talk to him by herself after all, it was silly to let Eysteinn coddle her so much.

►►►►►►►►►►►►► Ivy Clarrisa Black XXXX▌ϛlave ƒor Life▐ ”If you don't stand for something you'll fall for anything.” ...As she figured, the master who had brought her from her room could very well handle himself and untangled himself from the reaching fingers of the boy who had been stuck in this room. Curiosity reached Ivy as she wondered what he had done to be put down here. He couldn't be the most obedient type if he had to be placed down here instead of the nicer rooms that had been above ground. Her thoughts were cut short by the man holding her leash referring to her as a 'human gem', had she not mentioned what her own name was. It seemed not to matter as he was stuck up on calling them something else. She had had another master do such, though Ivy was near certain it was because so many came and went that it was easier to call them all 'chickie' and 'darling' instead of trying to remember their actual names. If that were the case it just would have been better to wear some sort of name tag than have to endure such name calling.
'Not as lenient', it was a specific choice of words that Ivy made note of, though there was no more to say on it. Ivy could be chatty when she wanted to be, but at first she usually came off as distant while she assessed the situation at hand. Besides, right now she had nothing to say nor talk about, so what would be the point in opening her mouth. Her brows drew together as the slave boy stuck his tongue out at her. A childish move if she had ever seen one, but two could play at that game. Moving back through the mansion Ivy expected to be leaving now, he had found what he had come for, whatever that was. Part of it clearly had been a cook, which he found in the boy now attached to a second leash, and had been pleased enough with her own charms to take her with as well. The trip took another turn though as she overheard a conversation about a set of twins leading Ivy to wonder just how many slaves the man wished to leave with. Two already at his side, and the possibility of adding two more would put the number to four. He clearly wasn't worried about keeping them all in check.
She followed, had no choice in the matter, but the red haired boy seemed willing enough to start up a conversation. His name was Tommy, she learned, not Tom or Thomas, something she would remember, so that when he came to be annoying or mean she could use it against him. Setting her gaze to him, giving him a short once over she decided the offering of her name would probably be best now. She had denied it to one master once years ago, thinking that if it was something she owned, something she kept secret, then a part of her was still hers. It had not worked in her favor and she did not wish to relive the experience in any shape or form. “Ivy.” She spoke simply, the short name for her short response. Her full name meant nothing anyway. In a society where the first name was the only thing important the rest of it usually made someone look snooty, besides he had only offered her Tommy, their master had yet to offer anything.
Arriving at yet another room now Ivy grew tired of standing on her feet. The one was still wounded, simply wound in a piece of cloth so she had been favoring the other. Shoes would be nice, at the very least they would provide some sort of support, but that would come in time. The twins did look like twins, that was about all Ivy took from the encounter, she had missed most of their conversation, though that didn't much matter. She was sure it had nothing to do with her anyway, and her own thoughts had favored better. Looking up from the floor as she heard the man speaking in a near threatening tone Ivy contemplated what she missed in looking between the siblings and the man who still held her leash. Her head turned to watch him make way to the door and confirm that he was adding these two to his list of growing slaves. He was either greatly lonely or went through slaves rather quickly. Both were worrisome. If he were lonely it would be a great shift to having four new people in his presence and within his space. It was four people to tell the do's and don't's, four people to direct, and four people to watch over. For themselves the other slaves were allies, and all with a common enemy. It was nothing that the man had done to make him an enemy, just the shear fact that he was rich (and buying them) and they were not. If it were the second case, then it meant that they would either be sent somewhere else not long from now, or they would not make it out of the house at all. Ivy had seen a few pass from harsh treatment from a master, and it usually happened in the case where such beings as slaves were much more expendable. The more slaves a household had the more extendable Ivy tended to feel.
”Yet each man kills the thing he loves, by each let this be heard, some do it with a bitter lock, some with a flattering word. The coward does it with a kiss, the brave man with a sword.” ((Omg. I'm soooooo sorry it took me this long. I feel really bad, but I'm glad I wasn't really needed. I promise to be on more and post more often.))
