Kettil moved and draped his arms around Freya from behind and rested his chin on her shoulder as he giggled at Muka's antics. "He's fun! I like him." He said fondly. At her question he seemed thoughtful, now that he was thinking about it he wasn't sure.
"Things!" He announced as if that answered all the questions.
He wasn't exactly in the best of mindsets, "Mebbe...Mebbe...We can go out and um...do ... um...things."
Very concise of you, Kettil. Very, very.

Freya's eyes opened wide as saucers, and she sat up straight, tensing in Kettil's arms. She turned her head, put her hand in front of her mouth, and whispered something super duper secret to him, while looking around to make sure nobody else was trying to listen in.
"Hooter." Her breath barely left her as she whispered quietly against his ear. "I love things."

...Gods. When Shik heard Lan's voice and saw that devilish look, all the executioner could do was bare his teeth in a wry grin that didn't reach his eyes (Shaheen has said to smile, so there you go). "Lan." She was just enjoying this wasn't she. Her and Shaheen.
"Shaheen, you must know that whatever happens there will be blood," he told her most sweetly as he tried to stand up straighter...and try his best to work the bandages around his wrists.

"What war is this that we are not on the same side, that you must enlist my support by force," she frowned, suspicious. It was doubtful that Lan was referring to their eternal war with the Hunters, and she knew of no other war... certainly not one which would not have garnered the use of ALL the clans' troops, not just Conquest. The lady of Conquest might very well have been implying plans for a coup.
Regardless, as she listened to Lan spin her poetic story, Eris found herself even less inclined to agree with the other girl. By the end of her speech, War's Heir was shaking her head, not angrily, but almost a little pityingly. Lan was not weak, by any stretch of the imagination -- she was arguably worthy of concern to any opponent, enough to invoke her own ire -- but to the War horsewoman, she was inexperienced in this matter. "Wars are not won the way you're playing, Lan. You want to win a game, not a war. Wars are won by generals, generals so beloved and respected that each soldier feels they have a connection with them, and would die for any cause, no matter how trivial or hopeless. Manipulating your 'pawns' is a good way to find yourself with a knife in your back."
Mirroring her indifferent look, Eris waved a hand dismissively at Lan's attempt to save her friend from retribution, unconcerned.
"However, I have little interest in sustaining any anger towards Lifen, nor towards you. As the threat has passed, there is no benefit to it. More than that, it is exhausting."
False had approached the stage, and the Heir turned her attention to him, listening politely to what he had to say, eyebrow quirked. His choice of words was poor; several times, he might have found himself on fire, had the political turmoil not put her priorities into perspective. Instead, she merely quirked an eyebrow at him, the corners of her lips curling a little in amusement, allowing him to kiss the back of her fingers. Even as he increased the gravity field, his voice powerful and intense as he threatened the Reaper, she offered Invictus a soothing look, her eyes meeting his as she reached up with her free hand to stroke his arm, gaze speaking volumes in a language only the Heirs could understand. He had nothing to fear, nor nothing to be jealous of.
"A pleasure, Reaper, I am certain," she replied calmly, offering him a little bow. As she did so, however, she returned her eyes to Lan for a moment, her gaze momentarily hardened once more.
"And FYI, I'm already his queen."
Stepping off the stage, Eris also paused as she passed Mengyao, resting her hand boldly on his shoulder, offering him that same amused, devious smile. "I'm disappointed you were not the victor, but it is no matter. My offer still stands. Pledge yourself to me. I will still give you your day to do as you like, to act as our contract."
Letting her hand slide from his shoulder, she waited for False to lead the way, still keeping her eyes on the Conquest horseman, pleasantly.
"When you have your answer, come find me~?"

"Oh. My. Jack." Kettil breathed at this so called secret. "SodoI. Let's do all the things together forever," he said very fast and excited now.
Eyes stared up at Muka as he performed further antics. His head tilted down into Freya's shoulder and he let out a small series of giggles. "He is the best owl-boil. THE BEST."

The tone was enough. She had failed, abysmally so. Head bowed she looked to Eris no long defiant, but considering. Accepting. "More I am proven to need to know of war. Alongside other matters." Lan wilted a bit at the final remark. She had not intended to imply otherwise. Sheepishly looking to Shik and Shaheen. Lighter things. "Hmmm yes. We did speak of the need for a moving target. But..." Shik was one if war, and as just pointed out, she was lacking. "He might have his other uses. One seed." Lan IS BIDDING 1 SEED ON Shik!

Eris's motion to soothe the Protector of Conquest was enough - while Invictus's anger didn't always boil so near the surface, there were those who were able to easily pull him into line after his outbursts.
Never the less, he made a point to kiss the heiress's cheek, up to her ear where he once again whispered something - likely as scandalous as he had earlier - before passing another look to False, before he cautiously pulled himself away from Eris. It wasn't a very willing removal, but he did know there were now other things to be done besides Invictus readily establish that Eris was his.
Which everybody should have known already.
Instead, he moved to approach his cousin, reaching into his sleeves to fish something out, before lightly tapping it on the back of her head - a book.
'The Art of War'.

She might have set her gaze to the ground as Invictus drew near. She half expected a silent lashing. Or perhaps, a set date when he might scold her for her actions. A tiny jump matched the light thunk to the back of her head. Gingerly she took the book, running a thumb down its spine.
Gaze still lowered, she bowed. Homework.

Invictus actually reached out to press his hand to the back of her head as she bowed to him, lips still tense.
"It would do you well, to remember your place. Maneuvering with an army is advantageous; with an undisciplined multitude, most dangerous. Actions are reflected from our victories." He frowned, an actual visible frown, "And yet, my dear cousin proposes to act not only selfishly on her own, but also inflict these decisions upon the actions of the clans as well without approval."
It was strange hearing those words come out of his mouth.
In fact, it was like he had heard them before....

Arrow target? Really, ladies? "Oh yes, the first session was on the house," he drawled. "Though you left before we could go in earnest, I remember. Always kept your distance too. Is that why you're willing to pay for my time, Lan?" He offered a smirk. "Because that is the only way you can get a man's attention?"
If he was going for only a seed, he might as well mouth off. Gods, but his head ached from where Shaheen had struck him unconscious.~ ~ ~ "Thanks. N' have fun~" he told Shehk with a dreamy grin before turning to the new round of auctioneers. With his judgment impaired and a lot of seeds still in his pocket, Mort didn't really choose based off something rational - nope, he was going by the fact there happened to be a dude whose skin color happened to look sorta like his.MORT IS BIDDING 20 SEEDS ON FAIYUM!

The Reaper watched it all in fascination, the whole deal of the Horsemen bickering back and forth but he hardly knew the deeper meaning to the games they where playing. Far beyond him.
The reaper turned ultimately towards Eris again after she spoke to him, but even as she spoke the world grew heavy and he found himself bending at the knee, his back arching slightly as he felt the weight crush down on him. For sharpie it was far worse. The poor cat suddenly smashed into the ground popping into a puddle of ink.
"A-ah forgive me. Invictus..." He forced himself upright again grim grin as he stood up, "I'll be sure to keep my hands off of Eris." For the most part. He stood back again letting Eris and Invictus have another moment before moving with Eris in the crowd. It was thrilling to stand beside her even as she spoke to the other horsemen before moving through the crowd again.
"Shall we continue to enjoy the festival? Or shall we create some 'fireworks' elsewhere? I've long wanted to see the flames of the War clan in person." He said with a sheepish grin.

The touch made her tense momentarily before Lan visibly let whatever pride in her stance fade into humility. She had done wrong not only to herself but to others. There was no excuse that could be made. What was worse still in her mind that she had only wished to make a gesture, to do something that might be enjoyed by more than just herself and for more than herself.
She had failed yet again.
Mouth opened to make an apology, but it slowly closed. She could say nothing. She did understand for if she did she would have not made such a mistake. She could not say she was sorry for if she was she would have already have made amends. So Lan simply fell silent, book held slightly closer to her than before.

It seemed he'd gotten his point across and retracted his hand.
"Next time, you run what you have on your mind past us first." With that, it seemed his 'punishment' had been enough for Lan and her delicate ego - honor was a very tangible weapon for Conquest. He'd inflicted what he needed to, and now he would go and find himself somewhere to meditate.
Invictus was far too irritated for public.
