Devon was thoughtful. "I liked Wolf-man. It was funny." he chuckled. "I don't usually do much. Half my pack is married by now and the other either have girls or guys night out. I wouldn't mind doing something else. I've been surrounded by men too long." he said with a smirk. "Maybe I can take you somewhere?" he asked slyly.
He would think of something, even if she tried to let him "do his own thing".

"And I haven't been surrounded by women at all." Lark replied with a slight smile and then she thought about what he said and then she gave him a big smile when he made the offer but she really did want him to have fun and she wasn't sure if someone like him would have any fun at something so small as a dace. "Well there is a Halloween dance at my school and it's custom only." she said getting really shy

Devon thought about it. Then grinned. He like the way that would look. "Me come to a school party? I think I could do that. I'll wear my best suit. And you can pick out whatever dress you like." he said. "It might be fun. I don't believe I went to any of my school dances." He could quite remember. It might have been over shadowed by the Hunting that year. Lots of deer that year.... He shook his head and looked back at Lark.
"Alright then. Dance it is."

Lark beamed at him and then laughed happy that he agreed to it she was so happy that she made another wolf joke. "So does that mean your custom of choice will be the fur coat my good man." she smiled she was talking about his half way for that would be fun too see at a collage dance party but her laughter stopped as she heard that all to familiar sweet sing song voice that belonged to the woman from earlier

Robin came in front of them with a pleasant smile on her face. "Oh Devon! I didn't know you were here." she said surprised. She was wearing a nice cocktail dress. She looked Lark up and down and smiled.
"I just finished talking with one of our associates. It went very well." she informed him. "I didn't know you'd be here with a date. My ride won;t be here for awahile. Mind if I sit for a moment?"

Devon was annoyed by the woman's interruption but put on that smooth mask to hide it. No point in offending his most talented secretary. She when above and beyond. So he would but up with her for now.
"Alright. But only for a moment. This table is just meant for two." he said pointedly. "I don't think there will be room for all three of us."

Something told Lark that Robin knew exactly where Devon would be but she had no way to prove it and besides it not like she could say anything anyways so Lark let it go she didn't even let on by how bothered she was by the woman looking her up and down but then again who was she to protest she had on a Cardin sweater with a skirt not all fancy like the woman's cloth Lark made room for her and let her take the space between her and Devon even though she didn't like it but Lark was silent retreating back into her shell that she had just begun to come out of because of Devon now that this woman was her she was right back where she started from in a cold dark shell

Robin seemed to be the only one in a good mood. "I have a quick question. There that party coming up soon. Many of the CEO's will be there and other company there. We were hoping you'd go this time." she said.
Devon sighed. "I see no point in company parties. I have more important thinks to do." he sighed. He sent an apologetic smile to Lark.
"It doesn't seem so, but it is important. We want to see us in a good light. I would accompany you so you don't "forget" anyone, but Vince was hoping you would."
"Fine." He glanced at the waiter who was waving to Robin. "I think you're ride it here.
Robin didn't like the dismissal but smiled anyway. She turned to Lark and held out her hand. "Sorry to interrupt your dinner. I hope I can get to know you better." she said pleasantly, holding out her hand.

Lark for the most part was trying to tune the woman out getting lost in her own bleak world again not really taking part in her idle chatter seeing no point in taking part she just wanted her to leave she was really considering leaving herself if this was to go on much longer she didn't even see the smile Devon sent her she was too busy trying not to get up and walk away. but she snapped out of the bleak thoughts which had turn into ones of disbelief and then heart break as she heard Devon agree to go to a party with the other woman she couldn't believe how much that hurt ed but she didn't have time to focus on that because the woman was holding out her hand distractedly she smiled and shock it and said. "Sure." on the out side she looked fine but on the inside her heart was breaking

Devon only nodded to Robin as she left and sighed with relief. "That woman, I swear...." he grumbled. She was starting... no was being rather annoying lately.
He looked back at Lark and took her hand in his, squeezing it gently.
"I'm so sorry about that." he apologized to her. There was a little bit of a pause before she answered. He studied her face, curious what she was thinking. There was this look on her face again. It was blank and slightly dazed. A little like when he first met her. He didn't like this, not at all. "Lark... are you alright?" he asked, worried.

Lark didn't return the squeeze still trying to figure how that had happened and why it hurt so much the fact that she didn't understand only made it hurt more not that anything on the outside gave any hint to what was happening on the inside in fact on the inside it way a like a heavy rainstorm with no end in sight. But she gave Devon a smile no need to let him in on what was going on within her heart and mind she didn't think he would understand anyway. "Sure," She answered softly. "Why won't I be."

Devon felt uneasy, but was unable to determine what was wrong. Before he could ask again, the waiter returned with there food. It smelled heavenly. Reluctantly, he released her hand so he could grab his utensils. "Alright then. Where were we?" he said, hoping to make the conversation normal again. "Oh yes. Your dance. I assume it's costume for Halloween?"

Lark sighed breathing in the smell of her fish it made her mouth water but it didn't help the emotional turmoil she felt inside she had completely lost the good mood she was in a even worst she had retreated back into her shell she really didn't want Devon to push the issue but at the same time she needed him too. "Yes it is but you don't have to go if it will get in the way of your hunt or your business party with that girl." she said in the same soft voice that let on she was holding back on some emotion and that something was wrong with her

Devon blinked. "Of course I'm going to go. The hunt is after midnight." he started. He felt he had to explain. He felt really uneasy about her behavior. She didn't look upset, but her neutral manner bothered him. Not to mention he had this slight feeling that she was.... He couldn't place he finger on it. It was like he started to feel something then it slipped away. It was frustrating.
"And don't worry about the business party. If I can, I'm getting out of it in thirty minutes if not sooner. There... pointless I guess. I way to waste time and flaunt money in my opinion. I'm only going with Robin because it will speed things up. She is only my secretary. It helps to have her around when I forget a few people." he finished. "So I'm going to your dance Lark. Nothing sound better." This he was absolutely sure about.

Still in that neutral manner that betrayed nothing that was going on with her she said. "Well if your sure I can't imagine it would be as exciting as a business party or event The hunt maybe you should just stay at the party and I'll just find something else I can do by myself." she said not looking at him as she began eating. "And besides why would I be bothered about you going it does sound awfully important and I am not going to stand in the way of that." then she was silent as she picked at her meal she felt so horrible inside she didn't know what to do she had felt something earlier but the minute that woman showed up she pushed it away and let it drown in her own personally misery she would cry later she had cried enough in front of Devon anyway

Devon set down cut throw his steak more furiously. What would it take to get her to believe that he would follow her anywhere. That no place was better than at her side. "I'm going." he said simply. "And if you try to back out, I'll drag toy with me on the run. I'm sure you'd fit on my back." he smirked
