"People tend to lose themselves when speaking from the heart, but... But I can understand what most don't care to see," the eldest prince murmured softly before flashing a gentle smile towards his pupil. "In your family perhaps, but in my family tree, we merely break ourselves down into tiny particles that may continue pressing down on the keys or playing other instruments. By doing that, our sprained wrists aren't strained and beautiful music may continue on. How else do you think we could play an entire orchestra with only three people?"
Brushing his hair back as if he were slicking it back to keep it out of his face with one hand, the other slid up and removed the mask he was wearing yet exposing no mutilation much less a scar of any kind beneath it as stories of the phantom of the opera stated was wrong with him. "Back to your vocals... Now, low pitches are easy for a male, but not always a female. Which song do you wish to be able to sing that is low in pitch? It'd help if I knew as much if you'd like to know how to dip your voice low enough to sing it properly," he rumbled lowly while ignoring the fact his hair had remained pulled back off his softly tanned face.

 Ophelia IncendiaTheme songDon't give up, it's just the hurt that you hide "But sprained wrists or not, Eric, I don't like to think of you hurt in any way," she said, her hand reaching forward to touch his exposed wrist. Feeling a slight tingle when their skin touched, she immediately removed her hand, blushing and looking back down. "I-I..I mean...never mind."
She only looked back to him once his mask was removed, and through her curtain of pink hair, Ophelia saw a truly beautiful sight. Although to some, Eric may have looked like any other male, Ophelia was instantly stunned by his looks. Without the mask to cover his face, he was magnificent! The shape of his nose, perfect, the curve of his jaw, flawless, his smoothly tanned skin stretched evenly across the fragile bones of his face. She was floored, then ashamed. How could she even stand to compete with the kind of girls such a remarkable man like him saw every day? She had already been greatly impressed by his musical prowess and his unmitigated intelligence, and had found herself deeply moved by the eloquence and deliciously suave-sounding words that left those impeccable lips, but not that she saw the external beauty of her precious teacher, she lost hope. How could she ever get him to look at her the way she looked at him?
The young woman sighed and set her hands back on the keys, playing a few notes from the song she was thinking of. "I can't remember much about it, but I think it's called Rain," she said absently, her thoughts focused solely on the song and playing the notes. "I think that is where you will be unable to help me. I'm afraid I'm not good at low notes." Looking up at him once more, Ophelia's blue eyes traced his handsome features once more, unable to find a single flaw, and feeling her stomach wrench into knots. "Eric...there's something I-"
Suddenly, she found herself quieted by two visitors. Furrowing her eyebrows, she looked at the door, surprised to see the sign still on the door. "I'm sorry, but you can't be here," she called out to them, her sweet, soft voice ringing through the room. Mr. Vaporatti has cancelled the class for the next few days in order to attend competition in New York City, and the room is for private lessons, such as the one that's occurring right now. There's a music room just down the way, but...I'm afraid I'll have to ask you to leave." When you're lost inside, I will be there to find you

☆ XXєтєяηαℓ ℓιғєXX "Shoot," was Eric's only response to having visitors in the room as he pulled his hood up rather quickly and shifted into a blurry image of himself. Seeing how his elder brother reacted, Yué reached over his shoulders and drew what appeared to be a bow and arrow out of thin air. Notching the arrow into place, he didn't hesitate in aiming it at the guests as if prepared to let it loose on them.
"I suggest leaving the room quickly, children. Try anything funny and you'll get an arrow to some part of your anatomy. I don't miss," Yué almost seemed to growl irritably while keeping his bow aimed at the duo. As soon as they saw he was serious about firing arrows inside the building, they quickly turned on their heels and ran out of the room. Other than the pitter-pattering of their feet running down the hallway, words of a crazy guy wielding a bow echoed down to the vocals room.
Letting the arrow return to being loose against the string of his bow, the younger male padded quietly over to his elder brother. "Eric, just keep the dang mask on. You know it's just easier to keep the mask on rather than have to deal with stalkers," he sighed lightly only to wince when Eric flicked the end of his nose. This resorted in the bow and arrow vanishing into a brief blur while the blur of Eric moved over to shut the door. Once he finished with that, he resolidified beside Ophelia with his hands pulling his hood back down.
"I know, Ophelia. Unfortunately, violence tends to follow my brothers and I wherever we may go. The kingdom of vampires known as the Northern Vampire Kingdom wish us dead so that our homeland cannot be saved from the ruin it's in now which is why we don't quite associate with very many people. As for the masks we wear, well we tend to get various stalkers from both genders if a part of our face isn't covered. It's a family curse that only runs in the male bloodline. It doesn't affect everyone persay, but it does affect some," he murmured softly only to set his foot against the door to keep it closed when another student tried to enter, his hand holding the doorknob as if making it seem like the door was locked. "There are many songs involving rain and that tune isn't bringing any recollection of having heard it before. Is it Listen to the Rain by Amy Lee? Heck, giving me some lyrics might put the actual song title and artist into place."

"I rather like being able to see your face, but if you would rather wear it, I'm sure I can handle it." With a small smile, Ophelia returned her focus again to the piano, playing the notes again. "No, I know it. I swear..."
Suddenly, she straightened and brightened. "It's Rain by Breaking Benjamin. No wonder I can't sing it. It's sung by a man!" "Found the reason why it sounded familiar and yet not quite calling a name or musician to mind. And it's not all that bad. At least we're not being put through various torture methods by the vampire nation and Tori's not being cut open to be dissected for being the only person in existence to naturally coexist with a zombie virus," Eric responded calmly as he released her hands and flashed a gentle smile. "You tend to have the idea that one gender can't sing another gender's musical artistry. Take Yué for example. Obviously a male yet he can sing like a girl yet not completely in a feminine manner. If scared, I swear he screams like a little girl. Ow! I was kidding. Anyways, with the proper training, you can be the female version of Yué; singing male songs although you're a female."
"What he means is that while I can't hit the extremely high pitches of a woman as I still have a bit of masculinity to my voice, I have my own version of feminine songs. If I can sing similarly to a woman, you can sing similarly to a man yet not completely in a masculine manner," Yué sighed a little bit more in a frustrated manner after having popped Eric in the arm for his small joke. After having said that, he muttered something unintelligibly as he touched the side of his nose.
"Thank you for clarifying. Hit me again and I'll thump you in the nose again. Anyways, so I'd like for you to try singing it for me so I can help readjust your pitches to fit to the song," Eric smiled with a hint of a sharp glare directed at Yué crossing his arms over his chest a little ways away.

At her cue, she opened her mouth and began to sing, her higher voice bringing the song up a bit, but still, it was very beautiful. "Take a photograph, it'll be the last, not a dollar or a crowd could ever keep me here. I don't have a past. I just have a chance. Not a family or honest plea remains to say, rain, rain go away, come again another day. All the world is waiting for the sun. Is it you I want or just the notion of a heart to wrap around so I can find my way around? Safe to say from here, you're getting closer now. We are never sad 'cause we are not allowed to be. ☆ XXєтєяηαℓ ℓιғєXX Seeming to remain in a position that seemed to be thinking hard about the song, Eric ran his tongue over his left cheek for a moment before setting his fingers on the keys a short distance from Ophelia's hand and played the beginning tune of the song. Not finding the tune he wanted, he moved his hands a little closer to Ophelia's hands and played the tune again. This came with a slight nod of satisfaction before setting her hands in place.
"While it was beautiful, I felt the piano was drowning out your voice by the original keys it would be played in. Lighten up the keys a bit, you can hear your voice better. Since you are a female and can't hit the exact low tone he does, your options would be to project your voice more which raises your pitch a bit and takes more air to accomplish or to heighten the keys being played. Repeat the song while letting your fingers play over the keys as if these keys were the original keys," Eric murmured lightly while ignoring Yué's snicker followed by a light ow. Of course the younger male was finding this amusing. Everyone used to always make fun of how Eric Phantomen was such a critic about the tunes of music.
"Musical kracken alert. Simon from American Idol has nothing on the eldest son of Cæan Phantomen," Yué hummed lightly while remaining where he was sitting. Eric's only response was flicking the younger boy off.

The final notes again rang through the air, and the blushing young woman turned to her teacher for approval. ☆ XXєтєяηαℓ ℓιғєXX Smiling at how well the female's voice harmonized with the slightly higher pitched keys on the piano, Eric felt that the song had been accomplished by a female singer. Hearing the 'well?' he was about to respond when 'was it better, teacher?' came out of the female's lips. "I-it was indeed much better than the first run through. The piano wasn't making it sound as if you were softly humming along with the song, but recreating the song for women to sing such a beautiful, compassionate song laced with sorrow and hope. At least that is how I interpret it," Eric answered while pretending his face hadn't turned a soft shade of red. He'd never get used to being called 'teacher' as the only people he really taught had called him Eric or Phantom. There had been no other names besides that.
"The musical kracken is pleased. Be proud of that. He isn't pleased with most music of the present. He also would prefer you just calling him Eric or Phantom," Yué sighed as he seemed once again unpleased by the female's actions. How she spoke to Eric didn't seem to make him like her any more than he had when he'd first met her.

He was a big boy, and didn't need his brother to tell her off for calling him a name that seemed to make him blush. Ophelia opted not to say anything of this nature to Yué, her eyes telling Eric instead. Breaking her gaze, she stood and swayed to the other piano, sitting by herself and opening the booklet on the stand. The young woman wasn't one to stand up for herself, but if that...that child continued to make her feel uninvited and unwelcome in her own practice room, then she would be forced to say something, and as much as she hated the idea of driving her teacher away, she wouldn't suffer through that unfriendly and moderately rude boy's presence if she didn't have to.
"Page sixteen, I can't seem to get the last eight bars. Would you mind running it for me so I can hear it?" she requested, pushing her hair back with one hand and trying to focus on the music. When you're lost inside, I will be there to find you

Reading over the notes a couple of times, he set his fingers on the piano. "It's not that I dislike being called teacher, it's just... I'm not used to being called such a name. Anyone I've ever taught either called me Eric or Phantom. Being called teacher just makes it sound all official when I'm not even a real teacher of anything. Sorry for Yué's negative demeanor. He isn't usually like this when I talk to him unless it's something we always bicker about like Tori," Eric responded to the female as her gaze had so directed while partly contradicting what Yué said. lightly playing out the entire song with his fingers, he already knew Yué was going to retort with something oh so clever. Catching a hint of a song Tori was singing outside, his fingers had started up a little remixed piano version of the song.
"Maybe a stupid little girl should take a hint," Yué muttered before doing a backflip and sinking through the floor. Sighing lightly Eric glanced back over at Ophelia with an apologetic look on his face. "Like I said, my brothers make things more difficult than they need to be. Now, as for that song, I believe it would go like this," he murmured before letting his fingers dance across the keys to the whole song for the female. Once done, he glanced back up at her with a questioning gaze as if making sure she got the tune.

"I just...don't understand why he dislikes me so much." she said somewhat quietly, pushing her hair behind her ear. After he did the song, Ophelia nodded and played it back to him, adding her own little spin at the very end, but getting it right where it counted. "Hm, I just...I feel like it needs something. Like I'm missing something important."

☆ XXєтєяηαℓ ℓιғєXX Removing his fingers from where they were settled on the piano, he shifted them slightly before starting up a tune that wasn't in the book. "I wouldn't take it personally, Ophelia. A family friend once said that he believes Yué has a brother complex so by others stepping up into my focus distracts from him and it gets him to be moody. I'm not a hundred percent sure about that, but it's a theory," Eric murmured lightly only to stop playing his tune. Smiling up at the female, he gave a slight handsignal for iffy on how she played. Stretching his legs out, he let out a soft yawn.
"While played correctly, I couldn't feel the same emotion I got from the original piece. It seemed lacking in emotion and seeing as you're frustrated with my younger brother, I'm not surprised. While you radiate frustration, the music radiates something not so frustrated. Frustration would be more like how I was getting with The Phantom of the Opera when I felt it was lacking something and ended up playing this at the end of it," the dark black haired male responded as he played a few notes.
