Chad could feel his heart pounding as he made a subtle move onto Kadaj; it was so out of his element and so unlike him to do anything like that. This would probably be the only advance he’d make in a good while because he didn’t like the way he felt as he did it. Hopefully though, Kadaj would get the hint and know that Chad was more than willing to make themselves a couple. His moment of tension for fear of rejection was short lived through because as he left his hand though, he heard the voice of someone he really hoped to never hear from again: Serah. She was the annoying girl who tried to steal Chad and Becca’s Pokémon but failed miserably, apparently she was back for round two. The funny thing was that Chad hadn’t even fully comprehended the situation before he felt Kadaj pushing his hand off of his lap; that kind of hurt Chad’s feelings in a weird way. He never had to deal with someone basically pushing him off of them, so it was almost too foreign to him.
Chad put that silly feeling behind him though as he turned his attention back to Serah, eager to find out more of what she’s been up to. “Where’s Becca? Did you take her Pokémon?” Chad always figured that Serah would go after Becca first because she was the one who had a Pokémon evolve during their struggle. Maybe not though, since it had only been a day since their encounter. “K-Kadaj!” Chad watched in great anxiety as Kadaj stood up and was ready to do battle against that pesky recovering Porygon. Hopefully Kadaj could pull off a victory and get himself to the first gym without any of his Pokémon released, although Chad would most definitely jump in before Kadaj’s Pokémon could even be taken from him.

 » Ryan Snow » Party: Lulu (Painfully short post) Ryan picked up the Pokeball that held his new Pokemon and decided its name would be Shadow, right on the spot. He wasn't sure why. He would check if it was a girl at the Pokemon center, later. He looked back and crouched down to pat Lulu. "Good job." he said quietly. Ryan stood back up and assessed the situation; there was a hippie, a gay couple, and a loner-like girl. Hm. This was odd. He looked over at the loner female that Riolu and Eevee had bumped into, gauging her reaction.

Selphie nearly fell over as the Riolu and Eevee bumped into her. “Oh?” Selphie stumbled but quickly caught herself and looked at the two small Pokémon. They seemed interesting enough, one was even a shiny, although whenever she was about to say something, she saw the trainer simply staring at her. ‘So much for catching a shiny Pokémon.’ Selphie sighed, half-expecting the Pokémon’s trainer to say something, but he didn’t. He just… stood there staring at her. She didn’t really know whether she should say something or not, but on the same note, she kind of had a feeling that he was just checking to make sure she wasn’t mad or anything about the Pokémon pushing her. “Ah-Hah, cute Pokémon.”
Selphie turned her attention back to the battle going on between this Serah woman and Kadaj. She kind of reminded her of the Team Rocket back in the Johto and Kanto region, mainly because this Serah woman was trying to take Pokémon even though they didn’t belong to her. “Be careful Kadaj! Make sure she doesn’t win.” Selphie was definitely going to jump in if Kadaj wasn’t doing too well, but she didn’t want to say that simply because she wanted Kadaj to do his best no matter what happened. ‘Sounds kind of awkward now that this Serah girl showed up. Tee-Hee, so much for their romantic moment.’ Selphie pulled out three Pokeballs and withdrew all three of her Pokémon before signaling for Chad to come over to her. “Chad come and withdraw your Pokémon! We need to make sure that this Serah woman doesn’t do anything to steal them while she’s battling Kadaj.” Selphie looked rather intense right now, and slightly concerned that a young new trainer would be here, especially when there was a woman trying to steal her’s and everyone else’s Pokémon.

Ryan stepped into the Center and put both of his Pokeballs on the table, then lifted Lulu up and placed her there. "I want both of them to be checked up and thoroughly examined, I think Lulu might have broken something and Eevee was bleeding in places." Nurse Joy blinked at Ryan. "That'll take a rather long time..." Ryan scowled back at her. "Then you better make it take less than a long time. Say, 10 minutes?"
She blinked again and returned Lulu to her Pokeball before giving Chansey the tray of Pokeballs. Ryan scowled and walked back outside. He was suddenly interested in this Serah person.

Serah laughed as Chad said that she was the woman he was talking about to that girl with red hair. "Ha, it would seem that I'm quite the celebrity. In fact, it seems like every time I run into you, a random trainer appears out of nowhere." Serah pointed to the boy with a shiny Riolu and Eevee. "What generic and distasteful Pokemon." Serah adjusted her glasses before commanding her Porygon to perform a technique that would avoid the flamethrower. "Use protect Porygon!" Porygon created an invisible layer around itself that deflected the flame spewing forth towards it.
Serah decided to quickly counter with a techniques of her own, "Use Ice Beam Porygon."
As she commanded her Pokemon, she turned back to the new girl, slightly distracted by the fact that she had glasses as well. "Well, it's a shame that I'll have to take your Pokemon and release them... but I think it'll be worth it in the end."

Perhaps Ryan's Pokemon were commonly sought-after, yes, but if he just caught common Pokemon, what would be the fun to it? These rare Pokemon were likely going to be caught and forced into slavery for a long time...
Was there a gym in this town? Hm.

Kadaj looked at the young boy who walked over to them with a Riolu and Eevee. He couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow at the oddities he seemed to possess. Although he didn’t really have time to go over them before he noticed that Porygon was deflecting the Flamethrower with a Protect technique. Kadaj had remembered that the skill was used quite often when fighting against Nincada and Snivy before it evolved, although it did faint rather quickly compared to the other Pokémon. “Alright, Pepper use Mirror Mover and reflect that Ice Beam back at Porygon!” Torchic flapped its small wings and then a violet mirror appeared in front of it before reflecting the beam of light blue ice directly back at Porygon. “Now follow the Ice Beam and use Slash right after the Ice Beam finishes!” Pepper nodded and followed closely behind as the Ice Beam made its way towards Porygon. Then, Pepper jumped into the air and readied its claws for a powerful slash attack.
As that was being done, Kadaj turned to Chad to see him worried about this situation. “Don’t worry dude, I got this.” Kadaj knew that this battle was going to be tough, but he wasn’t exactly the most inexperienced trainer, and besides, he always had Chad or Selphie to rely on if things got tough, although he didn’t want to do that for the sake of his pride. “How did you find us?” Kadaj was now facing Serah, curious as to see how she was even capable of getting their location, then again, he didn’t exactly expect her to say her methods since it seemed like it was now her job to torment his companions and he beyond belief, but it was still worth a shot. “Don’t think you’re going to be able to win once if you show up and attempt to surprise us.”

Chad was silent for the most part as he watched the battle practically on the edge of his seat so to speak. He walked over to Selphie and withdrew his Pokémon just as he was suggested by her, although to be honest the kid that was standing next to her seemed very self-righteous, not that he minded all too much. His statement about Pokémon being Pokémon and humans being human didn’t really make any sense, at least to Chad. Still, the new trainer didn’t introduce himself to Chad, so Chad figured that the new trainer was simply passing through with no interest in what was going on. “Return!” Chad held out three pokeballs and withdrew all three of his Pokémon. “Alright Selphie, I guess all we can do is watch now.”
Chad stole a glance of the guy that had a shiny Riolu and nodded as in saying hello before sitting down on a broken log and watched the battle. Since Kadaj didn’t want anyone interrupting the battle, Chad decided to bite his tongue every time he felt the need to throw out a suggestion to Kadaj about how to battle. Every battle that Chad had was always at least witnessed by Kadaj, so in reality, Kadaj knew everything that Chad did about battling.
“I hope he wins this, although to be honest I can’t really picture Serah being the type of person to just up and take someone’s Pokémon. I don’t know, maybe she’s not as big of a threat to me as she was the first time. This is good training though, at least for Kadaj since he had to sit out the last one when Becca and I fought Serah.” Chad sighed, deciding not to rehash the story again for Selphie since she’d already heard it when they were staying at the Pokémon Center.

Selphie shook her head when this Serah woman mentioned that she would have to take Selphie’s Pokémon and release them. “I don’t think so. You’re not taking my Pokémon, sorry- it’s just not going to happen that way.” Selphie folded her arms stubbornly before mentally checking to make sure that she had placed her Pokeballs away in a safe location. She was beginning to not like this Serah person, mainly because her ways of seeing Pokémon has become a bit misconstrued. She clearly didn’t understand that Pokémon and humans worked together to accomplish things and that a lot of Pokémon enjoyed battling. Personally, if Selphie knew that her Pokémon didn’t enjoy battling, then she would’ve released it instead of forcing it to do something that it didn’t want to do. “Hey Chad!” Selphie did her best to nullify in her mind the battle taking place. She didn’t like getting involved in these kinds of things because of how persistent Team Rocket was with her when she was in the Kanto region. Seeing Serah didn’t do anything to help her block out all the problems that happened back in the other region.
Selphie nodded as Chad explained his opinions about Serah. “You’re right, I don’t think she’s going to be someone to take seriously. When I was in the Kanto region, I had a couple of persistent grunts who always followed me, but I was able to beat them every time. After a while, running into them was something I was completely used to.” Selphie clapped to herself as she watched Kadaj’s clever use of the move Mirror Move. Reflecting someone’s attack was always a skillful defense though. “I think Serah is very intelligent though. I just get that vibe from her. Eventually, I have a feeling that she’s going to start causing some serious problems for us as she learns more about our Pokémon, so we need to keep it fresh.” Selphie smiled, although her smile was filled with anguish over the situation.

Nurse Joy gave him a pursed look as he approached the counter. He didn't acknowledge her existence, simply leaned onto the counter and remained silent. After a few seconds of this, she asked him, "How may I help you...sir?"
"Give me my Pokemon." Ryan told her. Joy scowled and crouched down, grabbing a couple Pokeballs that had been sorted. She slid them over. "That will be 500 Yen."
Ryan raised an eyebrow. "I thought the Center was free?" In fact, he knew the center was free. Why was he being charged?
"You had them checked up as fast as possibly, this require expensive resources" Nurse Joy explained. Ryan thought about it for a few moments before swiping his card and paying the center the small amount of money. He let them know that he hoped they would choke on it as he walked out of the Center, Lulu now trailing behind him and both of the Pokeballs at his belt.
Ryan walked into a Pokemart and bought a bag of Pokeballs along with some potions, revives, and medicines. Again, as he swiped his card, he let the clerks know that it would be quite satisfactory to him if their death came from choking on their wretched money. With his new supplies and freshly healed Pokemon, Ryan walked back to the battle and leaned against a tree a little ways off to watch the battle. I really should battle a few people, I'm down about 2000 Yen...and where's the damn first gym?

Serah rolled her eyes as this boy with Riolu explained that Pokemon were like humans. That was strange, a few minutes ago he seemed cold and unconcerned, but now he was defending Pokemon. Serah would never understand people of this world, which is why she spent all her life allowing people to hate her, at least freeing Pokemon seemed like honest work. "Quick, use protect!" Serah blocked the Ice Beam coming back towards Porygon, however, she failed to see the Slash and as a result, Porygon too a nasty slash attack to the face. "Mph, Porygon! Don't give up- use your Tri Attack!"
A beam of different colors came forth from Porygon's beak and was aimed directly at the Torchic.
"Silly Kadaj, as if I'd tell you how I was able to find you."

Kadaj took several steps backwards and looked at Selphie and Chad in an exhausted manner. Of all the times to be having a normal conversation, they choose their time to be now. Of course, that would make things too simple if they didn’t. Now Kadaj was slightly distracted because of that, in the kid with a Shiny Riolu. It’s not every day you see one of those. Kadaj was half-tempted to pause the battle just so he could go get a better look at it, but something told him that there was no way in hell that Serah would pause something like this just so Kadaj could be content and more focused on the battle, if anything, she would probably consider the Pokémon a blessing since it so easily distracted him. “Great hit Pepper!” Kadaj watched happily as the slash attack connected with Porygon, but with all good things comes a bad thing and the moment that it connected, Porygon countered with a Tri-Attack. “Use Flamethrower!” Pepper exhaled a breath filled with flames towards the Porygon and it collided with the Tri-Attack, canceling the two out.
With that done, Kadaj quickly called another command in the hopes that he would be able to hit the Porygon and end it sometime today. “Now use Fire Spin and trap the Porygon in it!” Torchic spread forth a flame from its beak while twirling around in the air, and as it did so, the flame reached over, promising to injure the Porygon if it were to make contact. That was good news for Kadaj since he wanted to end this battle sometime today and at the rate they were going, that seemed like it was going to be quite impossible. Although Chad and Selphie seemed like they didn’t mind since they had each other to talk to while he was battling.

Ryan examined Chad. The man was muscely and model-looking, similar to Kadaj. Usually these type of humans didn't have much for brains, much less for strategy. He'd be an easy target to win some money, especially with Lulu. Lulu was rather resilient, and Ryan was starting to wonder if she could hear thoughts, similar to how many Psychic Pokemon can. Lucario and Riolu have been know to have oddly Psychic abilities. If Ryan could strategize with Lulu telepathically, he could probably beat Chad into the dust. (Would this be allowed, for Ryan to communicate telepathically with Lulu?)
Oh well. He might as well battle. "Homosexual!" he shouted over at Chad. "You, whatever your name is. Battle me."

Chad had been watching the battle rather closely, but also having side conversation with Selphie. She was an interesting woman with quite the past, and the more he talked to her, the more fascinated he became with how she handled herself in many situations, especially one like this. The guy with the Riolu had left, but now he was back, strange. It was almost as if he wanted to watch the outcome of the battle, but really he didn’t have a reason to be there, especially because he just sat there silently, making no effort to get involved. In a way, Chad was grateful that he wasn’t bringing attention to himself, otherwise Serah would probably try and take his Pokémon since he seemed like a beginner.
“Well I guess that Serah is going to be the persistent grunt for us in this region.” Chad smiled but shrugged at the same time. “So much for catching a break right?” Chad folded his arms and watched the battle play out. It seemed like Pepper was on the winning side of that one, which was good because Chad really didn’t want to have to jump in, but at the same time he would if he had to.
As he thought about it, he heard a voice refer to him as a homosexual. He didn’t care though, because it wasn’t like he wouldn’t have a hater once or twice for no apparent reason. However, the first thing he did was turn to Selphie, “Okay, so I guess I’m the homosexual.” Chad turned his attention back to the boy with Riolu and Eevee. “You want to battle me? I have a name, and it’s Chad.” Chad didn’t believe it until now, but even people that weren’t trying to steal his Pokémon could be real asses when they wanted to be, it was sort of a shame, but Selphie would probably know more about it than he would.

Selphie smiled happily as she thought about the grunts in the Kanto region. Even though they sucked at what they did, they still had their moments where they were nice and kind, but other than that, it was just fun battling. They were probably the number one reason that Selphie got so strong as she travelled. Battles really are good for a Pokémon, and the fact that they showed up pretty much every day made her have to keep her Pokémon alert at all times. “Yeah, Serah is going to be that grunt that seems to show up at the worst time, but I don’t mind it so much.” Selphie giggled before turning back to the boy who was sitting down and watching the battle. “I wonder why he’s here. I don’t know anything about him other than his Pokémon pushed me and then he ran away.”
Selphie sighed dramatically before looked back at the battle. Kadaj was really doing well for somebody who didn’t have that much experience with battling, especially because he knew how to convey what he wanted his Torchic to do. “I think he’s going to be an awesome trainer, even though he doesn’t know much about battling so far.”
As Selphie smiled, she heard one of the foulest things she’d ever heard, and that was saying a lot. She swung around, infuriated by the slander given by such a new trainer. “I heard Chad, I heard.” Selphie pointed to the trainer with Riolu and an Eevee. “Chad get back, watch the battle with Kadaj. I need to teach this boy a lesson.” As she said this, She tossed a Pokeball into the air, causing her Pidgey to come out. “I don’t know who you think you are, but you have no right to address someone in such a barbaric way! You want a battle, you can get one from me! If you don’t like it, then hit the road!” Selphie was pissed at how rude and vile this boy’s mouth was.
