Giving Shira a feint smile, Atticus nodded, "Yes, when everything here is done and I know that you will be just fine. I will leave this city." Atticus would then stare out at the desert-like terrain. "Despite my many years alive, I have yet to truly experience this world and all its wonder. I had wanted to travel alongside you, but I guess that I will be doing this alone."
While he did not look back to see her, Atticus could tell that Shira was a little upset about his words, "Shira, do you really believe that if I knew you needed me, I wouldn't be there in a hurry?" he asked. "Even if I do leave, which, if I do, won't be for years to come, I will rush back to your side in an instant."
"If that is true, then why don't you seem happy?" he asked. "Would you rather have me live here with you forever? Never once leaving this city except on missions?"
Shira shook her head once more "Well naturally I am going to be sad that someone close to me is leaving for a while." she told Atticus "I understand your reasons behind leaving and I won't stop you. It sounds like a good idea though."
Shira smiled slightly before looking away, obviously thinking about something. "When are you planning on leaving?" she asked "Because, if my father recovers quickly, then I may be able to come with you."
Atticus smiled and held Shira's hand, "It won't be for a long time. There are still some things and people, that I must deal with before leaving." Of course, Atticus was referring to Herald and the Blackwings. "As long as they remain alive and active, I can not leave."
Isabelle trudged along the winding path as it lead her through a dense forest of trees, hills and rocks. A small pack a little larger than a purse was strung over her shoulder while the rest of her belongings were carted by a small man in a black suit. The man was old but seemed to be in good shape as he pulled the wagon behind him that contained at least seven large traveling bags of Isabelle's clothes, personal items, and belongings. She made idle chit-chat with the older gentleman as they wandered down the road until they finally entered the large clearing that separated the forest from the city itself. Stopping to take a breath Isabelle looked up at the spiraling city that was spread out before her. She was surprised by just how much damage was done to the poor city. It looked nothing like she remembered it did and a lot of the buildings were still being renovated back into living condition. "I guess he wasn't kiddin' when he said they needed 'elp," Isabelle said aloud as she inspected the city from afar. It seemed that only the school was left intact, probably because of the previous Lord Death's fading soul protect.
In any case Isabelle continued down the path until she came across the duo near the outskirts of the city. Isabelle didn't recognize Atticus much but she could see the family resemblance that Shira had with her father. Excitement built inside Isabelle as she quickly walked over to the two students, eager to re-introduce herself. "Shira darlin', how 'ave you been?" Isabelle said happily once she was a few steps from the two. It would be possible that Shira could remember Isabelle, but she would have been a child when Isabelle was working for her father.
Shira smiled up at Atticus and nodded "When the time comes, I'll go with." she said before giving his hand a slight squeeze. She sensed a wavelength then and looked over to see o woman with blue hair "Oh... hello. I have been alright despite recent events." she said, trying to be polite. She didn't seem very familiar but her wavelength was. Maybe someone she was acquainted with a while back?
Isabelle listened very intently to Shira, nodding her head as if she was agreeing with her. "Well that's wonderful darlin'," Isabelle said with a wide smile. She then looked over to Atticus, as he was sitting right next to Shira. "And this young man must be your partner," Isabelle continued as she gave a slight bow to Atticus. "It's nice to finally meet Shira's future Death Scythe. I've heard a lot about you two from your father, quite a lot indeed," Isabelle said as the short old man pulling her cart finally caught up with her. He sighed slightly as he hefted the cart up until it was resting on its back end, and then proceeded to hop up on the elevated top end and light a cigarette, clearly not interested in what they were talking about.
While he was next to Shira, Atticus would sense the presence of two people coming near them. Looking the same way Shira did, Atticus found himself confronted by a blue-haired woman, who he had never seen or heard of before, but she seemed to have known Shira. As the two greeted each other, Atticus remained quiet until she looked towards him. Atticus would nod s the woman bowed to him and began speaking about Shira's father and the fact that he had told her all about them. This made Atticus a little nervous because he and Shira had really been through a lot, but also weary, because he did not know this woman and yet she knows everything that is to know about them. "A pleasure to meet you, my name is Atticus." he would say as he let go of Shira's hand and stood up. "Do you and Shira know each other?"
Isabelle watched as Atticus stood up, introducing himself. He then asked if she and Shira knew each other, which Isabelle politely nodded back to him. "Yes we do, for quite some time now, but I'm sure she doesn't remember me that well," Isabelle said sweetly as she looked back to Shira. "When Shira was just a child I used to work with her father as one of his Death Scythes here at the academy." she stated as she looked back to Atticus. "But where are my manners, my name is Isabelle. It's a pleasure to meet you as well."
As Shira listened to Isabelle, she remembered the last time she saw her then. She smiled then "It is great seeing you again. How have you been?" she asked.
