Being sucked into a portal had not been part of Xiu's plans today, but she supposed that she hadn't been expecting any of this to happen. All this fighting and running around was wearing her out, and when she realized that everyone was being pulled into the sand pit...
Well, might as well just relax and let it bring them to their new destination.

The flowers purged themselves ,the vines vanished. Ofelia went with the others into the portal and wondered then what would be coming next.
It'd be a while before she could respond though.

Once the room started to collapse, things seemed to move quickly. Sunlight, sand, and stone, it all came crashing down on their heads. And then the floor went nuts.
Sherry barely had time to think before fall through the portal. At least it meant the vines might not have her.

It wasn't like she'd been waiting, or expecting, or even hoping. She didn't want to see him, not under circumstances like this. Besides, there were other black dogs around, thank you Tybalt, and that meant there was a chance that this particular new appearance wasn't--
But it was impossible not to recognise someone you cared about, and Thackery- Thackery was definitely Thackery, not recognisable just because of the way he looked, but the way he behaved. The one pacifist amongst all of them, fighting in this room. Maybe, if all the halloweeners were like him, they wouldn't need to fight. But if they didn't need to fight, there would be no need for hunters- and that would also mean she never would have met him.
Irony tasted so bitter. The reunion, too, was bittersweet, cut short as Reine crouched, hopefully surreptitiously, to attack Thackery in a hug, before he backed away again- and then she could only watch as other hunters targeted him.
She couldn't protect him, and that shouldn't matter, because it wasn't her job. She could kill him, for sure- it would be one easy hit, with Alynthe fully charged, and that would be doing her job, but it hurt, more than any wound she'd taken in this place, to see him suffering. Hunters knew to fight back, hunters had to fight back, for their lives. And with any other halloweener it was easy enough. They were hostile, they were threats, they would be eliminated. Thackery was the complete opposite of that.
As he crawled towards her she took a few shaky steps forward, well aware of the chaos around them, of the fact that there were duties to do, things to kill. For a moment, though, for this one short moment, as she crouched to nuzzle at him, it would just be the two of them. To anyone else, maybe, in the outside world, it would simply be a girl and her dog, cuddling together, enjoying each other's company.
"I'm sorry," she whispered. He would know why, without her saying it. Reine reached to scratch his ears fondly, only vaguely aware of the vines twisting around her. Just one more minute. One more minute and she'd go back, leaving him to sleep, or recuperate.. or something. A sudden idea struck her, and she removed the hairclip from her head, clipping it instead on his collar. It wasn't a hearthstone, it didn't really mean anything, even- maybe just a wish that he would be safe, and that they would never meet again.
When the ground opened up, turning into a portal, Reine closed her eyes, holding Thackery close to her one last time.

The pressure and constraints from the vines was getting too much, and the sudden crumbling of the room was almost a huge relief. But then everything spun and twisted, and there was a...portal? Jack. That wasn't good! There wasn't enough time to think past the initial JA--, until she found herself sucked in.

Looking up, Jason was relieved to see a clear blue sky, just like the one back in the human world.
He didn't have long to look upon it, as he was quickly sucked into the gaping portal.

Tori smiled back at Reine when she gave her the thumps up as she was glad to give her friend backup. At first Tori had thought the vines had just wanted to sip her blood and trip her up and she didn’t think nothing of it as they were just plants just really annoying plants as she had let it slip that they could puppet. Hearing Clarice slam her partner down on the ground did confused her but was grateful for it when she felt a little lighter and the pain slightly more bearable and later on if they all made it out alive, Tori would have to thank Clarice. Aklin kept on telling her that he wanted to fight more to kill all the things.
But now that she didn’t have any pain did she feel that Tori did finally realize that she had some of those vines inside of her when she felt them move around. This is so ******** up she thought as she just wanted them out of her and didn’t want to be a literal puppet; she had enough of being one in her old life. Tori panicked a little when some of those ref flowers bloomed on her right shoulder and left thigh/knee, it would be a feeling of the vines moving around that she wasn’t going to forget and she really ******** hated Famine more so now.
Watching those vines to makes sure that no more got inside of her as she did have enough of them. Seeing and hearing the room was collapsing Tori just wanted out when she saw the sky. Just as she was thinking about escaping that the floor started to break up and the center tile broke too. With time Tori saw that it might be a portal and it was too late to escape as she got sucked into that portal to destinations unknown.

Vanessa was surprised she hadn't been hit yet by any of these furry little monsters. Was she this good, or were her opponents just that ill-prepared?
And then the room decided to cave in from plants and Vanessa instantly regretted thinking that she'd make it out of this undamaged. As the floor, which was apparently a portal, opened up, she found herself being sucked down into it, and kept a good grip on Volt. If anything, the bulk of the weapon could be used as a crutch or a raft against this raging sand.
All she could help thinking though as she was pulled through was something along the garbled lines of, "Why didn't I expect there to be quicksand?"
