Lucien lingered on the cage bars for quite awhile, his energy feeling like it was getting weaker. He shouldn't just stand there. If time was irrelevant to everyone and he wasn't going to get an answer to that then he would just have to get an answer to something else then! He didn't want to look like a total fool though, so Lucien thought about it carefully while he paced around the cage for pretty much no reason. He was expending energy, probably looking like an idiot to most of the prisoners, but it was like keeping a clock ticking and that clock was Lucien's noggin.

"Hm..." he said as he stumbled upon one of the prisoners.

"Where are we?"

The prisoner gives you a strange look. "Aren't you a rebel, like one of us? Pro-Human World, saving what remains of Halloween against the Four Clans and all that. I recommend you keep your voice down though, there's no use attracting unnecessary attention."

"No," he said simply. "Something here is not like the other."

Well, there went that idea. Maybe Lucien just wasn't very good at asking questions. First the adara, and now these prisoners. At least no one had knocked him to the ground and run away screaming yet. Although Lucien was about to start banging on the cage bars and wailing like a baby if he heard that buzzing again or anything started disappearing. It was hard enough being in here, his heart pacing faster now that he had nothing to question. Perhaps that was why he wanted to know what time it was. Anything was better than thinking about this cavern, even something as simple and pointless as what time it was currently.

At long last the cage door swung open, two Four Clans soldiers ushering the prisoners out. As they walked, single file, pushed forward angrily at times, the students could hear a loud chime, a familiar jingling noise-

- A loud shout, a series of them as several prisoners tried to break free, forcefully dissipating themselves one last time as they voluntarily jumped into the center runes-

- Another louder chime amidst the shrieks of anger-

And then a familiar scent. A soft, burning, sweet smell, one that pervaded the senses before any student returned to consciousness. The chiming had stopped the second they opened their eyes, aware of their bodies pressing against the cold floor, stiff and rigid as if they had slept centuries. The large expanse of the temple seemed indifferent, shallow compared to what the students had just endured. It seemed oddly surreal.

"A story has a beginning and a conclusion, as do the paths you choose to take." Medea was speaking again, one hand reaching into the flames to douse them entirely. "Though all paths lead to the same, your guidance forward will yield greater consequences before your final departure. Tampering with something you did not understand only created undesired results: what you lack more than anything else is knowledge, through trance, through meditation. Understand our purpose, our ways, and the paths we seek before acting. This is our method, the method of using trance to see the error in our actions."

Even as students stood up, the second they closed their eyes, they could see the images clear in their mind - a dying Human world, a tunnel carved with bloodshed, an ancient battleground - replaying again in their mind as memories, stronger than any dream would ever.

It was quiet now, because there was simply too much to think about to, as Medea mentioned reflect. What exactly had she been trying to teach to the students?

OOC FINAL DAY: REFLECTION

- Your student only needs to POST ONCE this time, just a quick IC reflection post of the past three days and perhaps what it is supposed to mean. This is just a self-introspection post, no need to discuss it with others. a

If all of this was inevitable, what was the point in showing the students? They may never live to see the day, and yet they had slept into a world of torment.

Past, golden and ornate. Present, plain and runic. Future, dark and sharp.

Perhaps that was the point, though. If they had seen this in a forced trance, maybe their mere existence could be put forth to greater goods, to help prevent this final extinction by their own choices; certainly not one by one but as a whole. Taryn's mind was blown, and so she simply rolled over and stared up into the sky, thinking.

There was a chance that the battle had never happened, that the immortals had not existed, but then what was the point? It had occurred in some form, the ghoul decided, if not with the characters they had met than in some form. The clanswoman they had spoken to had said that there was always a battle to be fought, so certainly there had been some. Immortals ruling over mortals... flight of fancy or actuality? It was hard to tell, some deep study would have to be done.

The present... clansmen and -women must travel to the human world, perhaps not for slaughters, but to fight the Hunters. They were all on some different level than Halloweeners, and while it couldn't be immediately understood, she imagined that that might have actually happened too.

She sat up now, musing on the future. There were still humans... and the chances of this being definite were not very good. Still, the mindless slaughter of humans seemed to be threatening now. Look where they would end up, at the hands of the Clans!

Taryn sighed, thought wrought deep into her features. She had learned so much, but there were still so many questions...

...and that might have been the point. Lessons learned, and the uncertainty of a situation. Trance was important. She only wished that there was more time to spend on the isle to learn more.

Shun watched as a few prisoners threw themselves towards the center runes. If those worked anything like the one he saw, it was going to absorb them. Before he could do much else, a certain scent wafted on through the area. There was also chiming, and soon he realized he was back on the temple floor. Staring up at the ceiling, he slowly sat up, feeling a little disoriented. As Medea spoke, he turned towards her, furrowing his brow at her words.

Aside from that, he thought over everything he had just witnessed. A lot had happened, but it was all still very fresh in his mind. There had to be a reason to show them all of this. A glimpse into the past and the future. It seemed that Halloween had always been at ends with Humans, yet dependent on them. Humans.. as it seemed, had at some point stopped fearing them so much. Or something like that. In a sense, that was how the hunters were now.

But to be human, meant to die. Once gone, they weren't coming back.

Without the humans, his kind will eventually fade in turn.

What concerned him more, was the agenda of the horsemen. Whatever it was they were planning, it was going to make the humans go extinct. He needed to know more about what they were up to. Things were simply not adding up. Had Medea showed them this so that they might be able to stop that future from happening? But as one of the clan, he would have thought that they could find some sort of compromise among themselves.

The main thing he got out of it that seemed to be the only thread of clarity was that the horsemen agenda was a threat. Hunters, were already a threat to them.

Between the two of them, it seemed Halloween was getting ******** on both ends.

As for Shenny, it was quite clear what exactly did Medea want from them. To tell the truth, it would work, if she wasn't that straightforward, that dramatic, that obvious, in the first place.

Of course, the sorceress would agree that getting enough knowledge before acting is a good idea. That's what she always tried to do: to get enough knowledge by various means, one of them being able to make correct conclusions, or at least trying to as the circumstances suggest. What did she learn here, during that odd class?.. The ghoul tried to analyse the information and resume it.

First, Trance. Death clan, probably just priestess, but she needed a confirmation, has the unique ability to create illusion. A very realistic kind of illusion, Shenny would admit. It can be used to confuse the opponent, to make them lost in an imaginary world fighting with an imaginary enemies. It can also be used to show them selected information, affect them, and manipulate them. It was yet unclear to Shenny, what happens with their real bodies when they were inside the fake reality. Are they simply lying on the floor defenseless?.. If so, that was bad. She really needs to look for some kind of antidote for the illusion... it must exist!

Second, Guidance. Death clansmen are cynical manipulators. They prefer intrigues and persuasion to the open fight. They probably have a certain disagreement, or problems with other clans, and they want to use the students, "guiding" them. What can be the matter of this disagreement? The scenes they've seen would suggest only one option: humans. Looks like other clans are keen on the idea of invading and destroying the human world harvesting tons of fear once, but probably leaving them all for starving soon after. And Death clansmen appear to disagree with this tactic, which was quite clever of them. However, even if that part was actually true, Shenny still didn't like to be manipulated. Why not just tell them the exact situation and give them a choice? It was evident all of them would make it right, but manipulating their feelings sort of discredits the whole idea. Except, if Death has something to hide here..

Shenny wasn't sure how to act. She didn't really want to get involved into clans' fight: it wasn't her battle, it wasn't her cause, it wasn't her world, in the first place. Plus, she really doubted it would be that easy for other three clans to conquer humans and defeat Halloween, as Medea was suggesting. Perhaps, both humans and Halloween have enough power to be on par with clans, especially, if Death would be on their side.

However... never trust Death. Never trust somebody who is secretive and manipulative, and most of all, never trust somebody who can cast illusions. It might all be fake, even the part about Apocalypse and the madness: you never know.

Well, the ghoul decided. If the battle really takes place, I would fight to the end, as soon as it turns to affect something I'd like to protect, like Halloween for example. But I wouldn't allow Death to make me their puppet. If I manage to get even a slightest hint they were fooling us, I will be happy to fight against them, even if it means fighting on the other clans side. Shenny only visited Famine, and had zero information about War and Conquest, but other clans didn't do anything bad for her. Death, on the contrary, was trying to jacking guide her, managing to irritate her in just 4 short days. In fact, thought Shenny just realizing how much Medea with all her mystic crap annoys her, I'd be happy, if I had an opportunity to cut this arrogant b***h's throat. Never trust Death[/b[.

And yes. She probably needs to speak about it with other students as soon as she has a chance. Perhaps, some of them should have thought about this, too.

Lucien never had to start banging on the cage doors to be let out and freed because soon enough the door had been swung open and he had fallen onto the ground. Four Clan soldiers grabbed him and Lucien did indeed let out a wail. He didn't want to go where they were taking him! He tried to resist but every time he did he had been pushed rather aggressively. Every time he tried there was no succession in such a task. He had been forced to walk, single file to an unknown yet speculated location. It wasn't confirmed but this didn't feel like any walk to freedom.

In a way it had been through. A familiar scent, a sweet smell began to fill Lucien's senses before he even realized it. His eyes fluttered open to this scent and with his eyes now open again he realized that the chime had stopped. He wasn't there anymore and instead his body was pressed against a quite cold floor. He felt weird, his body aching and numb like he had been lying under the weight of the world - stuck between a rock and a hard place. Perhaps that's exactly what it was though.

His mind felt heavy and his heart felt distant as Medea spoke. Is that what it all was? Was this all just to show them an error in their actions? This wasn't something that should or would happen? Was this something they were trying to prevent? The words Medea spoke lined up delightfully with Lucien's feelings and thoughts. Everything he had felt and witnessed all lead to that same path. All he had witness, he could see it now. He never wanted it to be a dream but vivid memories haunted him now, his feet staggering lightly as they rushed back to him as his eyes fell closed with a sigh.

What did it all mean? He vividly remembered the nameless hostess, regret of not finding out her name falling upon him. A name would not define her though, but her image would forever be cast in Lucien's memories. He wouldn't forget what she had said, or the place she lived. In the same instance though, Lucien couldn't forget any of it. The bloodshed, the wars, the death, the end. What had this all been about? Guidance and Trance? Why had they gone through all of that? Lucien always suspected that it wasn't just to understand death and to die, although it was often hard to comprehend when that's all that seemed to happen. What was the point? Lucien's happy go lucky exterior was lost in a sea of mystery.

Perhaps the point was that although all the paths may lead to the same end result of death, it was the choices we made now that were what really mattered. Lucien could spend every day lounging on a cloud and then someday he'd be gone but what if he hadn't? What if he did something else between that point and the end? If one thing had changed then everything between that point and the end point would be different. The greatest question of all: what defined an error? At what point does something go so wrong that becomes an error? Perhaps the tipping point is the point of discovery and regret, and knowing you could have done something while you still had the chance.

If that was the case, perhaps Lucien had made an error he could not fix. Perhaps instead of asking her about her singing he should have asked her what her name was.

Everything continued to run through his head over and over, but right now Shun wasn't coming to any real conclusions. There were several rather pressing questions in which there could be a bunch of different answers to. One being that there had to be a reason to show them what she had. It was highly unclear just what that reason was.

She was right. They lacked knowledge. Furrowing his brow, he looked around, spotting where the high priestess stood. His gaze lingered on her for a moment before he pushed himself to his feet so he could approach her. The reaper's movements were quiet, not really wanting to break the silence that befell everyone, but he was going to have to anyway when he spoke. Even then, he kept his tone lowered.

"What exactly are you planning?" he asked. It was hard to say whether he meant what the horsemen were up to as a whole, or what Medea was trying to pull here. Perhaps it was a little bit of both. Either way, he wanted to see how she would answer, if she answered at all.

It could end up being a case like with Invictus where the answers given were rather vague.

No.

She didn't want the doors to open. She wanted to stay inside of that cage. And yet it seemed like she had no choice but to leave. No choice but to be up on her feet as she pressed forward into the open. It was time. It was funny how she suddenly wondered if she needed to die right then. For the Horsemen?

Would the Horsemen die for them? No. Of course not. And yet as they jumped into the center of the runes she felt her heart jerk. No. She didn't want to go this way. To go would mean to die - for real. She didn't want to. Was this how she'd died the first time?

Noise. There was so much noise.

And yet, it seemed like something was pushing through her senses. Something that shouldn't have been there at all. It smelled sweet. Not like this world of burning and death. It jerked her to her senses. It seemed like in an instant she remembered where she was - who she was. She was sitting on a floor. Sitting on a floor and...... She clutched her heart, feeling ache. That had been her long dream and to be honest, she was ready to not sleep again for some time longer.

This is our method, the method of using trance to see the error in our actions.

It was a future they would not see unfold, she hoped. If Red was right..... Halloween would nit die. She would not have it. Shehk took several deep and shaky breaths as she rose to her feet, feeling her legs shake. She couldn't walk in a straight line, her body ached, her mind raced, her heart pounded in her chest.

There was so much it all could have meant, she couldn't place it, however. She just knew that it meant she needed to see the big picture - and the big picture was that if they weren't careful they'd force themselves into ruin. She couldn't have that.

No.

She couldn't have that at all....

She needed to go lay down. Cradle her phone. Maybe cry a little bit. So close. So close to a true death, and she didn't want it.

Although her body felt weak and groggy upon waking up, Xiu's mind was a turmoil of thoughts and questions. Though the first two doors had been worrying at best, the visions from the final door had shaken her to her core. Was that what the future held for them? Even if they managed to fight back and defend themselves against the Horsemen, there was little doubt in Xiu's mind that the creatures of Halloween would not have long to survive if something happened to the humans.

The humans. What was it that that clansman had been saying about Halloween working together with humans? As uneasy as it made her, a part of her could foresee such a thing happening. An alliance between two unlikely factions for the sake of their race's survival...

...And the Four Clans on the opposing end? This was what troubled Xiu the most. Just what were the Four Clans' plans, and more importantly, what was Medea's plan? Needless to say, if the clans wanted to launch a surprise attack on Halloween and the humans, it would have been much more effective had the students not just witnessed what they did. Or could it be that the Death clan...

Xiu closed her eyes in an attempt to sort her thoughts, her expression twisting to a pained grimace when the image of a broken human world faded into her mind. Assuming that everything they had seen was true--assuming that what they had witnessed in the last door was indeed a potential, or even inevitable future--then there was one big question on her mind.

How soon?

The human world was, to her knowledge, still relatively safe right now. Only relatively--she wasn't sure if the horsemen had already begun to move, but the Hunters were certainly already on the alert. Did this mean that what they had seen would occur in the near future? Or perhaps in many, many years to come?

If only they knew more.

Joachim woke up, he felt as if he had been sleeping forever on the floor of his room however he wasn’t there. He was still there laying on the cold floor of the temple unaware of how long he had been there if even he had ever been awake during any part of the classes. This was unusual, he had not expected the Isle of Death to be something of a lesson an unusual weapon of thought and consciences verses skill in battle or craft.

Choices it was all paths that they had or will take. It was easy to follow in the battle into the strife against the humans to kill them and to dispose of them. They were weak but some of them were fearful, they carried weapons that disposed of them ease. However was it only a response to what they had done to them first?

This was perplex, if this was something of the past and the current present is what was lingering in the tunnel then their future was bleak. Even Joachim had easily followed in the suit killing the humans the one hiding in the corner in fear, however he did not want all of them to disappear, he did not want them to lose Halloween Town.

Yet, the War leader, she had mentioned they had not all perished. They were hiding in fear, but the idea of such an abandoned world was depressing.
He had to think. He had to think and not leap there were so many facts that he didn’t know about he had to be careful in who he trusted. He rubbed his face in his hands before he made an attempt to get to his feet but his joints were stiff and he felt as if he couldn’t fully move. He had to get out of there, Joachim needed to go somewhere and sort out of thoughts and the purpose of what they had showed in the trance.

The door swung open and Dev stepped aside to let it keep moving. The horsemen attracted her attention as they ushered the prisoners out. She kept silent, zipping her lips while she watched with a solemn expression. There was a faint inkling of what would happen next and she didn’t condone it, but this was not her place to intervene. Not unless she wanted to possibly suffer the same fate. She heard soft chiming. Dev scratched her ear. It was familiar chiming and added to the surrealism of the situation. There was something creepy and horrifying about the way some of them willingly jumped into the center runes and dissipated. She took a visible step away.

Her nose twitched when she smelled a familiar scent. Eyes slowly cracked open just as the bells ringing in her ears ceased. A frown flickered across her features as she groaned quietly and propped herself up. Dev shook her head before devoting her attention to Medea and her words. Once the priestess finished, she closed her eyes and watched images flash in her mind.

Yes, knowledge was always useful. She loved knowledge, craved it even. Dev wanted to learn as much as she could, hence her signing up for classes here, but now only more questions began to arise since her arrival to the isles. This class, more than anything else, had provided her food for thought. She sat on the floor, her legs straight and together. Although she could not say she fully understood the context of the scenes Medea had shown them, she could take an educated guess or two. The horsemen were looking to gather FEAR from the human world and supposedly eradicate their entire race in the process. A frown tugged at the corners of her lips. FEAR was necessary to the survival of both Halloween and the Clans, but it existed only because of the humans. If all of the humans died or ceased fearing them, they too would no longer exist and die off as well. If that was the Clans’ plan then she didn’t want to trust them.

Dev shot a look to Medea, but the Death Clan was also part of the Clans. The last trance had been a supposed depiction of one possible future, but did it not mean they were in compliances with the rest of the Clans? Suspicion swelled within the cu sith. But the priestess had been the one to alert Dev to this issue, so perhaps it meant her clan took a slightly different stance. Dev remained silent. From now on, she would have to remain cautious.

The shrieks and shouts echoed loudly in his ears, causing him to miss the first chime entirely. The situation was starting to become chaotic now. The guards had returned and were now leading them out somewhere. However, before he could see where they were being led to, the chiming grew louder, this time sounding over the panicked screams and the yelling, until finally they were back in the temple. Stiff and sore from the long hours of dreaming that felt like centuries, but back. They were safe.

Tybalt blinked, sitting up immediately and shuddered.

What was all that? What had she just shown them? Why did she she show them this? He stared, wide eyed at the head priestess, searching her face for answers, but she had none to give. She only gave them a few words of advice.

Was what they saw caused because people--or them--by making choices without knowing the full situation? Had they been to hasty and done something---or were they going to do something that would bring ruin and lead to that future?

The black dog closed his eyes, trying to concentrate.

'Your guidance forward will yield greater consequences before your final departure..'

He mulled the words over in his mind, thinking carefully about what she meant by those words. But what had she meant? It could mean a number of things. Was she referring to something specific? Was someone deliberately leading them blindly down a path of destruction? The school? The clans? Was it the students themselves? There were just too many questions. He couldn't think--or rather, there was too much to think about. The more he thought into it, the more lost and confused he became. Was he thinking too much on it? Did he have it all wrong? She had shown them a great deal, yes, and he had learned so much from the visions she had shown them, and yet he found he really knew nothing at all.

"If you kill us there'll be no fear left." Willow tried to convince the guards in the vision. She looked angry. How... why... she didn't even know the answers she'd gotten from the prisoners but nothing seemed to sway... and suddenly chimes played.

Chimes.... it was a ....

Willow woke slowly. Feeling as if she'd slept the time they'd spanned through the class. Her tail flickered irritated, as she looked around. She heard Medea speak, her eyes focused on the priestess. Ears twitched as she listened to the death clansmen.

Finally she shook her head. Pausing to close her eyes in attempts to clear her mind after the fire had been doused. However, instead of clearing her mind her eyes flew open from memories that had been placed. Her nose wrinkled, another set of dreams. Something else to try and shake, nothing, it would be impossible.

Her fur bristled for a second until Medea said reflect. The tigress looked a little confused; through trance they learned their mistakes. It seemed though the only thing that the trance told her was she couldn't trust horsemen and she already knew she couldn't trust the hunters... but they needed humans to live.

The tigress had to still herself when she noticed she was about to start pacing. Like a captured beast. Things here seemed surreal, the stillness and somber of the temple not to mention the quiet made Willow twitched slightly. She closed her eyes again, attempting to focus. She had to get to the actual focus of the visions Medea had showed them, not the ones she'd seen before now. The hunters needed to be culled out of her head until she could figure out what it was, what the importance was.

Willow frowned as she searched; killing humans was a bad idea. Just all together horrible idea, when the fact of the matter boiled down. Stopping the hunters was important. They just needed the fear that humans produced right? So there was no point in killing them for that.

The tigress shook her head. In a way it seemed as if this was the scripted end. It wasn't the first one she'd seen and the Byakko had a feeling it wouldn't be the last. She seemed to think, the soulless one had offered them a way to fix it. A contract.... Team Venture refused. Willow fluffed her fur out, she still believed that the right choice.

She frowned the rest of the choices seemed... up in the air. Who could they trust, who couldn't they? It was impossible to figure out. Willow eventually sat down feeling... overwhelmed at all the information in her head. Not only the future but the past and even the present was all seemingly.... out of sorts. Fixing it would be... impossible. They couldn't just turn back time and fix everything, they had to now face the future and figure out what the best answer was.... if there even was an answer.

Willow's eyes seemed to glass over as she sat there looking at the floor looking a might worried. What should they do? What could they do? Idly the Byakko ran a hand through her hair, if only she could clear her head and stop everything long enough to sort out all that had happened. If she could just sleep on it, surely everything would make more.... sense.

The priestess on Aeaea said something about one of them not being real... It was starting to seem to Willow nothing was real.

Just as the prisoners broke out into an escape, hurling themselves over the cliffs to dissapate, Calder woken feeling as if he had been flattened. Cheek sticking to the cold, marble floor, he slowly woken and felt his head pounding and body stiff and aching. Grunting, he sat up, not yet prepared to stand, and looked around as other students woken looking just as confused.

They were back, and it seemed there were no more doors left. Good. He didn't think he could deal going through more doors.

Everything felt surreal, and he still couldn't tell if this was just another dream right off the bat, but as he settled he recalled this is where he came into, and steadied himself with the logic that this had to be real.

And what of the rest? It wasn't real - or was it? Either way, he had seen a long legacy of humans fighting Halloweeners and Horsemen, of the same fighting Hunters, and at last, of Halloweeners fighting Horsemen. It was a vicious chain, and he felt it was a warning - but why would the horsemen who were training them, to help them fight and become stronger, then warn them that even THEY could be the enemies to them one day? It didn't make sense.

Were they warning them that they needed to find a solution before it was too late, but if they already knew what would happen, why wouldn't they work to stop it?

The prisoner was correct! Clans members came and ushered them out, the prisoner who came out were like being hypnotized, they jumped and fed the center runes themselves. Arynek smelt a familar scent, the scent that she smelt in the very beginning of the lesson, then her consciousness was regained. She found herself lying on the temple's cool floor. Medea was there again. The shadow ghoul knew the whole thing was finally over.

Arynek repeated to think of what Medea said.

"A story has a beginning and a conclusion, as do the paths you choose to take."

A story.......beginning........conclusion........
knowledge...........trance......meditation...........method to see errors in actions.....

Now, everything seemed to be clear. So Medea was using trance to show them what error they would be made in their actions. The knowledge simply referred to the error they couldn't see now but would happen in future if they took the action.

What was the action that would create the world we saw in trace? Who took "the action"?

Arynek has seen the past, present and future of the world. It might be the situation now, it might be not. The only thing she knew was she didn't like that world at all. Could she do anything to avoid that?

Also, although Medea didn't force them to believe, but the intention was suspicious. Witnessing and experiencing those dreams would give a persuasive and convincing power, favored to Death. All things about the Death was like a secret. Medea, as the head priestess of Death, didn't give a concrete answer, just asked them to think by themselves. Open questions were the most unreliable thing, Arynek felt she couldn't trust the Death fully, especially after seeing those things the Clans had been done in the dream.....Death might be different from other three clans but that couldn't be guaranteed.......

Also, they could use other methods to tell them the messages, but why trancing - a method that somehow controlled them. The shadow ghoul still couldn't decide whether all thing will be the truth or it's just something counterfeit. It was so hard to deny those memories.

Slaughter of humans.........dying world.....the runes.........Apocalypse.......

Probably Clans were hiding something from the Halloween. Something which might contribute to a disastrous destruction, something might end the world.......

Anyway, Arynek needed to find out about "The Apocalypse", which led to the ruined world they saw, if the dreams were true. Hope Medea would tell her honestly, though there was a little chance for her to do so.

"Excuse me, in the last door, a prisoner told me about "Apocalypse" that the Clans did and destroyed the world, what is that?" The shadow ghoul asked with suspicion. "I am quite sure all horsemen know that......?" She asked a rhetorical question so that Medea couldn't avoid the question.
