Kalika just followed him, stumbling as she went. She was so tired that finally she stumbled and fell.

Marth heard her stumbled and just managed to keep her from hitting the ground. She can't go on anymore. He just picked her up in his arms before saying "I am going to try and cover some more ground before we stop." He didn't wait for her reply as he just turned back south and continued to walk, with Kalika in his arms.

Kalika closed her eyes. "Okay Marth," she whispered. She then said something else so soft that she doubted that he even heard her.

Marth moved along the trail, he was careful about where he placed his feet. Sweet slowly poured out of him, his breath started to become quicker and labored. I can't go much more. There must be a stream or river near by I can hear it. He spotted a clearing of to the left with a small stream near the edge of it. He turned towards that, and once he got close to the stream he sat Kalika down and collapsed onto the ground.

"Marth are you okay," Kalika asked, slowly crawling over to him.

Marth just nodded his head, he took deep breaths. He then put his hands in the cool water and let it wash over them. After a few moments he cupped his hands and tasted the water. He felted the cool water running down his dry throat, the enjoyment he felt was almost palpable. He then took a few more deep breaths, before his breathing became close to normal. He looked over at Kalika and told her "Just tried. Couldn't go much farther."

Kalika nodded slowly. "You didn't hear what I said did you," she asked sleepily.

Marth shook his head. "The last thing I heard was you saying okay" he told her as his breathing finally became normal. He cupped his hands and splashed his face with the cool water before asking "What did you say that I didn't hear?"

Kalika shook her head stubbornly. "I am not saying it again," she said firmly. She knew that he could get it out of her if he tried though.

Marth stared at her for a moment before splashing her with some water from the stream and saying "Tell me, Please."

Kalika laughed and wiped the water from her face. "Oh you really can't guess," she asked softly as she made her way over to his side and curled up beside him.

"I could but I doubt any of my guesses would be close, so either tell me or give me something to work with." Marth said as he shook his hands off. Then he let his hand rest on Kalika's head as he started to stoke her hair.

Kalika yawned and snuggled into him. "Really," she whispered. "I wouldn't be so close to you if I didn't feel something."

Marth pulled Kalika closer to him while laying down on the ground and asked "So you like me?" He had a thought about what she said though he wasn't sure just yet.

Kalika sighed. "Well if you're asking that question then why have you kissed me," she said sleepily.
