She spotted him in the corner, hunched over. Everyone else was attacking Julie- the thought made her sick- but she could be selfish, this once. Excuses were running through her mind, as she fought her way towards him, ducking weapons and insects both.

He was in worse condition than she'd expected, and as she knelt beside him she hesitated a little, before reaching out to ruffle his hair. Grabbing a towel from a nearby stand, she flicked it, making sure it was free of insects, before dabbing at his face, cleaning him up and pulling him closer.

There was a vague memory of having done something like this, in the past. It reminded her of loss, somehow, though she couldn't quite place it- just that Justin was sick, and if she didn't do something, he could potentially die.

She propped him up against one of the beds, thankfully empty, one hand moving to his forehead to check his temperature- at least there wasn't a fever. It was only then that she realised there was someone else there- the girl who'd been with him earlier was defending him now, too. She didn't recognise the other trainee, but she was immensely grateful, a smile ghosting across her face as she whispered a soft 'thank you'.

Cass looked to Marcus, not exactly frowning, before she looked over the rest of the group, everybody looking exhausted. Worn. Still, she leaned onto the blade she held to catch her breath.

"Those things bit back pretty damn hard..." she said thoughtfully, before seemed to relent. "Guess I just would have to bite them harder, though." As she said that, Nicodemus's runes began to shift, invisible ones on the blade beginning to fill with light - he had tasted FEAR. He had eaten his fill of FEAR.

Yet she didn't want to have to use it. Still, she knew she would have to at some point.

"Yeah. You're right." she sighed. Caelius had said that they'd know what it meant to be hunters when they didn't fear death anymore. Cass knew there were two things that she'd worry about before death. The first of which was laying out plainly in front of her - the dead being used as puppets. Violated by those things.

It made her hatred for all of those things burn stronger and stronger every time.

It was stuffy with his mask on. Wilson grabbed it, ripping it off so he could breathe fresh air again. With his gasmask, his view of the world was slightly distorted. Everything was coated with green hues, but now he could see everything clearly—including what was left of Julie. He bit down on his bottom teeth and looked away, his eyes closed. No, that wasn’t Julie. That wasn’t her at all. She was out there, somewhere, patrolling—[You can stop lying to yourself, Wilson.]

He turned toward Dakota. Wilson weakly smiled as he patted him on the shoulder. “A lot can change in a day.” Only just now did he realize that Reine was tending to Justin while Saya stood by. He frowned. They could definitely use some help right now. “I’ll call Allan.” Wilson took out his phone.

Aleister edged over to Wilson. "Soo.... uh.... just in case. W-who has a.... who's fear's charge is ready?"

He was staring at Julie in horror, "Or... Who's close?" ... Maybe if they had fear charges ready they could take it down quickly an remove those things from Julie. He felt a bit weak.

Before hung back during the swarm. Hey, it was better to have a reserve or something or insert-pithy-strategic-excuse-here. Still, when it became apparent some of the trainees who had gone on the rush needed healing, the Misty whipped out his bandage and went on over to Cookie-guy. I mean, "Wash!" Before called out, then quickly applying the bandages on the moonie. "Not as good as I would like this to be but don't think we get a redo of anything here."

Madison hurriedly sidestepped over to the Hunter who had just tugged off his... gasmask? She wasn't about to question it, though. "Dude, you don't look so good - here, let me," she said, her voice low as she tried to keep it from shaking.

She wasn't so good with keeping her hands from trembling, though, and one end of the bandages rolled free and thudded into the remains of a corpse. Madison swallowed, hard, then sliced that bit off with Kouki's blade and went to work with what she had left.

"... There. Better?" she managed, weakly. The others had taken care of everything, but that meant she'd watched - holding back, ready to be the second line of defense. And she was ready.

But she'd also just seen some horrible things without the cleansing fire of adrenaline to wick the edge from her mind.

Harrison wasn't looking at Julie any more. His head was swimming, and his legs felt like they were made of paper.

He looked at Rep. Not the corpses behind him, filled up like pinatas. Not Julie, hollowed out like a sofa...

Don't look at it, Rep said.

Don't throw up, he reminded himself.

Aleister came over, and he looked at him too. Putting on bandages, that was okay. Deal with the stuff in front of him. He didn't have to look. What the hell was wrong with him.

"S-sorry, s**t," he managed. "Okay. I'm okay."
